The two dogs are a delight! And the expansive grounds with fruit trees, macadamia trees and pine trees nice to walk around especially in the morning. The communal area and kitchen are big and well-equipped.

The location is good. Close to Volcano Park and the southmost point. Two lovely big dogs will welcome guests.

NO WIFI in the black sands and green sands room! The signal is weak and phones cannot connect to WiFi. No enough outlet to charge my camera and phones.

quiet secluded location; neatness; hostess’s friendliness

Grounds, location, interaction with host, stars at night. Owner helped with luggage and gave us a different room after we requested one early at check-in. Room was clean, cheerful, with a great view of the grounds and stars.

Would have liked some company to look at the stars (ferrel pigs had been mentioned with protection from the two dogs); We weren't sure about the danger at night from the pigs (they are a problem in Hawaii). B.fast was served at 8 o'clock, late for early outings but were able to fix our own earlier with house food after asking on the second day.

Such a warm welcome and a cozy place! Extremely kind and friendly people live and work here. Dogs and cats are so sweet and lovely.
