Location and ocean front

First unit had very little view due to palm tree in front. The washer was broken and they moved us to a much nicer unit.

It was close to the ocean and extremely quiet

I did not like arriving at midnight to discover the office closed in the elevator broken

Large and spacious, lovely views overlooking the ocean and we really enjoyed the sound of the waves, good balcony, excellent BBQs - looked brand new - Webers. Excellent parking, liked having two bathrooms. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, everything clean. Walking distance to the markets just up the road (who did excellent tacos, burritos, poke etc) and to Jackie Rey's Grill which had excellent food. Pool area was lovely and really clean pool.

The decor is a little dated but nothing was worn or damaged. Like every rental place, the knives are never sharp so build that into your considerations before you try anything too adventurous for dinner. Lighting at the BBQs could have been better over the tables and chairs to enable you to eat down there.

Quiet, right by the ocean, provided pool and sand toys. Staff were friendly and accommodated our late checkout request.

We had the most amazing two week stay at Aston Kona by the sea. We stayed oceanfront room 224 and it was a very large open clean space with a panoramic view of the ocean close up. You could see the ocean from every room. This place was unforgettable and great for families. We went with our 5 month old his first vacation, and the ladies at the front desk Rhoda and Sara were absolutely incredible at helping make our stay comfortable and easy with baby boy. They were so nice and went the extra mile to help me with my requests. Very kind and outstanding customer service. We will definitely stay again in the future.

The common areas and amenities were wonderful.

The unit 209 needs a little TLC. particularly the hide a bed, screen to the lanai, and the carpets.

day manager Sarah was a terrible excuse for being empathic after we traveled over 5,000 miles from Florida …..she made no effort to get the room ready early ….. made us wait 8 hours to check in even though we were totally exhausted ….. evening manager Rhonda was much kinder throughout our 4 day stay… carpet, curtains and screen door to porch were either disgustingly dirty or needed serious maintenance

- large well-appointed room - away from the noise and traffic of Kailua-Kona - balcony overlooking the crashing waves

- parking is very tight - route to the elevator is convoluted and confusing

The room had ocean view and was good

They say they have luggage keeping on booking but they dont and they wont let anyone get inside until 4pm so most people just wait there! The hotel is very far from the downtown and you have to get a car around.
