It was a beautiful location nestled in a very wooded area with a creek running right beside it but, it was very close to Helen which made it very convenient.
The hot tub jets didn’t really work and the water was in desperate need of being changed. Besides that, everything was wonderful.
9.0
It was close to town but had the secluded feel.

This cozy cabin in the woods is the place to unwind. I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, so I felt right at home with the gurgling stream, and the flora and fauna of the woods. The house is just a short drive from Alpine Helen's center of activity and it's quiet and isolated, so you can relax away from the other tourists. The porch swing was a special delight to my island-born sons, who had only seen one in a book. If we ever come back, I'll be sure to rebook this place. And I will be recommending it to friends who live close enough for a weekend get-away.
And for those who can only get so far away from civilization without going crazy, the internet service and cable are excellent (there's a satellite dish in the side yard). Plus those who have electric vehicles, there's a charging station. (The owners have thought of everything, except a washer and dryer, which would be a help with mothers with kids.)
I could have used so details on paper at the property. For example, the hot tub started running and there was nothing available to tell me "we keep the hot tub on and it will occasionally heat to maintain the set temperature. Don't freak out if you hear it running." I was concerned my kids had turned it on by accident. It took several messages back and forth to get this information. Also, the property could use a better marker at the end of the driveway. We were late, and it was dark and foggy when we arrived, and we missed the turn off. (Turning around on the narrow road was tricky in our mini-van.)

Great location. Secluded. Love the stream in the back with grill and fire pit.
Beds and couch could be more comfortable. Coffee maker was not working.

The scenery
The bed downstairs was uncomfortable and too small
10.0
The quiet location that’s convenient to town.
It would be nice if there was a half bath or a second bathroom, but that’s not deal breaker.
5.0
it was secluded and felt homey and the shower was nice
the fire place didn’t work. we tried several times. the hot tub was dirty and had a dirty bandaid in it which tells me it was never cleaned, it would never get warm enough anyways. the bed was not comfortable at all and very high off the ground. sheets had dog hair on them.

We loved the access to the creek, and the fire pit! The screened in back porch with lights was such a beautiful place to relax.
We would’ve loved to have access to a washer and dryer. Mainly the dryer so we could dry our towels since we had a few to use for hot tub and showers.

The property was super secluded but super close to town.

Quaint, Quiet, love the shower and screened in back porch with creek running behind. Secluded and serene. Hot tub was perfect. Plenty of towels and wash cloths. Smart TV was nice. Loved that it was large dog friendly! Thank you for that!
Pots and pans were horrible.. broken handle but we made the skillet work. Microwave handle was broken at the bottom- made us feel like it was gonna break off in our hands. A lock on the inside of the back screen door would give just a little peace of mind when you’re enjoying the back porch and hot tub at night.

The shower was great, the bathroom was nice and big, the kitchen was nice, however we only used the refrigerator, the back porch was relaxing. Nice big TV in living room
Cabin was not clean. The cleaning crew is not doing their job. The bedding did not smell fresh, floors were not clean, the furniture, lights, and ceiling fans were very dusty. The blinds throughout the house was very dusty. The furniture (couch, chair, and beds were not comfortable and need to be replaced. (If this cabin is advertised as newly renovated they need to update the furniture). The hot tub was not clean. There is no blinds or curtain on the front door which leads into the living room. Very uncomfortable to sit in an unfamiliar place with nothing covering the glass on the door. We found a sheet to hang over it, but shouldn't have to do that.

I liked being out of town away from the noise for our dog. It was peaceful by the stream. Loved the walk in shower. Pleanty of towels. Decorated cute and over all clean.
.The internet never worked so my husband was unable to work remotely.

Loved the creek, shower, and outdoor setting.
The wifi was very weak. The sign marking the turnoff to the rental was not visible.
8.0
The privacy and the location
The hot tub was dirty and the bed was too high for me (I had trouble getting in and out of it).
7.0
Very private location. No neighbors in site. Nice brook behind house. Excellent location to downtown Helen, under 5 minutes. Nice screen porch. It’s cute and clean. My dogs loved it!!
The sofa is like a rock. The pull out sofa bed collapses. Kinda dangerous. It was a cold rainy day and we watched a few movies- seating is horrible. Anyone who plans on sleeping on the sofa pull out bed will be miserable!
Kitchen supplies are tragic.
The hot tub had a film on it (like lotion or something) and we wondered if it was clean.
If you arrive when it’s dark, hard to find. The signage for the property is faded and nailed to a tree.

couldn’t get the fire place to work despite the instructions left on the wall, one reason for booking

We loved so much that we can’t pick just one thing. The privacy, the quiet, the creek...it was all just perfect. Our dogs loved it too! The walk up the hill and back down several times in a day wore them out! And they loved playing in the creek. It was such a perfect weekend.
We don’t have any complaints.

The cabin, hot tub, location were all terrific.
The skillets in the kitchen should be replaced. The Teflon is all scratched up. If they were in my kitchen, they would have been replaced already. Just time for a new set. Scratched up and possibly flaking Teflon is something nobody wants to cook with.
And the coffee maker should probably be upgraded to one with an auto-shut off feature. I would think most folks home coffee makers have this now, so they're in the habit of not turning it off when they're done and when they make coffee at Laurel Creek they don't think to turn it off. And sin e it doesn't have that feature it stays on and folks mat not think about it or recognize it, and thus, it becomes a safety issue then.
