This is a awesome house. very clean. Pool was clean and awesome to just relax.

First about the house itself, it is an older home, but seemed to be a good choice for 3 of us since it has a big backyard, pool, and pool table for entertainment. It needs to be updated desperately- appliances, lighting and bathrooms are outdated. I typically rent a more upscale place; however, figured this would be fine since my parents and nieces who live in the area would visit and I wanted to have plenty of room to spread out. It is large; however, it is not a four bedroom as claimed. The 4th BR is a small room in the front of house with no built in closet and no TV. It is very loud from the street noise and it was not possible for anyone to sleep in there. Please note that this is on a very busy highway, so there is loud truck and motorcycle traffic at all hours. Also not safe for littles. The house is not a typical FL house which is light and bright, but instead is very dark with bad lighting. The kitchen fixtures had to have been 15-20 years old but worked fine for the little cooking we did. There is no access to the garage at all so your car will be out close to the street which again is heavily trafficked and I did worry about the vehicle being broken into. The backyard has a lot of trees which is great for summer shade; however, the pool gets very littered with pine needles and leaves and is hard to keep clean. The TV in the master bedroom does not work. The owner also came by once to check on electrical at the pool (he did ask first) but also while we were there one morning,, a repairman came by to measure a window inside the bathroom. I was not told about that and it turns out the owner had given him the wrong rental property address. Still given all that, it was nice to have plenty of room for our small family and to be able to sit outside in the warm weather. We enjoyed the stay as we always do when we go to Tampa!

Now on to my dealings with this owner. I booked the home for a week and after paying the full nonrefundable amount, the renter messaged me on this site saying before I would be given access to the home, I would need to put down a $500 cash deposit via bank transfer. I wasn’t comfortable with this. I was not told about this before I had paid the nonrefundable rental fee. But I didn’t want to lose my $ on the rental so asked him when and how it would be returned. I was told it would be returned to my bank account 3 days after the rental period. So I did send the deposit via bank transfer. Our rental ended on November 28th, and I did not receive a refund of the deposit, so texted the owner on Dec. 1st asking for my deposit to be returned. I received no return text from the owner but did get a message from my bank saying a return of $400 had been authorized by him. So I messaged him asking why it was only $400. This is when he informed me that there was “damage” to the home: the refrigerator handle was broken, there was a strap broken on the pool chair and one of the bar stools at the pool table had a big split on the chair. I responded that we did not do this claimed damage and asked for photos. He promised he would send them that evening, yet never did so I still don’t know what he is claiming exactly other than the description he messaged me. Again, these items are all older. We left the place in the condition we found it. I cleaned the fridge out right before we checked out and there was nothing wrong with the handle and I did not break it. Also as far as pool table chairs, one of the spindles was broken when we got there and we absolutely did not cause a split in the chair. I do not know about the pool chair strap but on old pool chairs that seems to happen often and would be easily repaired. So the owner arbitrarily charged me for damage to very old items that in total aren’t worth $100.

We loved the absolutely house! The owner was very responsive to our needs and we are looking forward to staying there again on our next visit to the area.

Hmmm, there could have been wine waiting for us. No, just kidding, we brought plenty of that with us.

My experience was amazing! Had a great time being there and it is kid friendly.

Some of the beds were getting kind of worn out, and one of the pool rooms light was not working.
