What a great place to stay! There is a garage to park so you don't have to risk the street parking, plenty of room in thr apartments, everything you need while you stay. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, the market, sites.

The apt is in the great location very close to center of town with lots of restaurants. The big bonus is its indoor parking spot. Parking can be challenging in the city and it's so nice to know there always will be parking spot. The apt is nicely maintained with everything you might need. It's a large apt enough space for everyone. The owner Luis is very nice and very responsive to questions you have. He is actually amazing and so responsible.

This was a great place to stay. Location was walking distance to great restaurants and waterfront. The house was clean and spacious. The owner Luis was there for any questions and needs. He gave us tips with maps of area.

Excellent location for exploring San Miguel. House was comfortable and well appointed. A wide range of information was provided for touring the island. We especially appreciated the warm welcome, gift basket of local treats, and the information generously provided by Luis.

Luis was an amazing host! He always replied and was accommodating. Even had the housekeeper come mid stay to freshen everything up. Great spacious apartment right downtown. Having garage access was a plus, especially with the narrow roads and being downtown

This was a great location, very short walk to the centre of Ponta Delgada where you will find great dinning and shopping. The unit came with indoor parking which seemed pretty rare so close to the centre of town. You had to back out the garage onto the street, but we always had someone standing outside of the car to watch since it was difficult to see. The building has two units, each one taking a full floor. The first floor was primary for parking. We were on the second floor. You felt very safe inside the unit. There was another unit on the 3rd floor where a family lived permanently (nephew of the host). Sometimes there was some noise because they had kids, but not much and no noise past 9 pm. The unit has 3 bedrooms and very long. It was about 40 paces from front to back so the unit was very open and roomy. Each Bedroom was large and had it's own air conditioner. Bedding and pillows were top quality. The unit was very clean and someone came in mid week to do a little cleaning. The garage had a musty smell, but that wasn't an issue in the unit. The unit's owner, Luis, was very friendly and helpful and you could tell he was a decent person. The unit came well appointed, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, washer/dryer etc. We had a bit of a problem with the washer mid week and Luis did call for repair but it could not be fixed until after we left. I feel very lucky to have selected this unit and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful, comfortable location. Everything we needed was onsite. Locks were a little troublesome - a visit from a locksmith is due as I was locked out for about 15 minutes once, and the back door lock wasn't working the whole time. And someone needs to cook the rooster out back - charming, but I'd had enough of him. Overall very good, I gladly recommend this location

Right from the beginning, booking and communicating with Luis was great. He always responded promptly to our queries. The accommodations were as advertised - spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable. The kitchen had staples provided (spices, basic baking supplies). There was even a welcome basket to greet us which contained a lot of Azorean goodies. As well, cleaning and bathroom supplies were maintained throughout our stay and housekeeping came once a week to clean bathrooms and change sheets and towels. The central location in the historical district was perfect, being close to everything - the fresh market, harbour, restaurants and shops were short steps away. Luis was able to arrange for our rental car and gave us excellent advice about restaurants, points of interest and tips to help our stay go smoothly. Maps and brochures were provided, along with an extensive summary on places to see and things to do on the island. He had even recently installed a BBQ, which we had the opportunity to try out a few times. Parking was sometimes a bit tricky, figuring out what was free, or required buying a ticket from a metre, but Luis also had a parking card for a couple of nearby lots. We were always able to find a spot on the street bordering the university nearby. This was the perfect property for our enjoyment of this very beautifully scenic island and a base from which to visit areas outside the city too. Our trip to Sao Miguel was memorable.

Everything was perfect.....there was nothing we could want at the apt., very well stocked with all essentials and appliances, large and small. Very clean..

This is a great place to stay in the city. It is close to everything. Luis was very helpful and answered all of our questions. It is comfortable for 6 people without feeling cramped. There are so many wonderful places to visit. We had a great time! I can’t wait to go back.

Overall the property was a wonderful choice for lodging in Ponta Delgada. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean and in a perfect location within walking distance of restaurants, shops, site seeing etc. Our only issue was parking our rental car during weekday business hours. After 6 pm we usually found spot. The owner offers a parking card that is loaded with about 20 euros, you are responsible for any additional cost. The yellowed lined areas on the road are no parking zones and the 3 spots across the street are only available when school is not in session so OK for overnight parking but must be moved before school starts in the morning. The owner was super responsive with any issues we had, which were minor. Batteries died in one of the remotes for the AC units. He was there within the hours with fresh batteries. Looking forward to our next visit.

The property was exactly as described and looked just like the pictures. Actually the pictures didn't do it justice. Perfect location for walking to town. Luis was a great host and always responsive. We loved it and would definitely rent again.

As this was my first VRBO experience I’m afraid I’m spoiled now. This apartment was beautiful! Very clean and spacious. During the day the living spaces are flooded with natural light through the many windows. There is a lovely view of a bit of the northern part of the city and the hills beyond through the large windows in the beautiful kitchen which was fully equipped if you are like us and plan to do some cooking of your own while you are there. At night it was quiet and you hear very little if anything from the street and surrounding neighborhood. The location of the apartment is prime! There is a wonderful public market/farmers market, cheese shop, and specialty store Com Certeza within two to three blocks walk as well as various other shops and cafes. The city center, restaurants, waterfront, botanical gardens are all an easy walk a way as well. Luis was a gracious host. He greeted us with a basket and local Azorean treats and checked in with us midway through our week stay to see if there was anything we needed. He provided a telephone for making local calls for restaurant reservations etc. He also provided a parking pass for some local parking locations, but we did not end up using it at all as street parking was never a problem for us. The apartment was perfect for our small family of four, but could easily fit a larger one. It is very family friendly. I highly recommend this apartment and would 100% try to book it again for the future visits to S. Miguel we hope to make. Thank you Luis! -Evan Cambridge, MA

We were very impressed with the apartment and Luís was very helpful when we arrived. Our visit to the Azores was shortened due to travel issues so we hope to make a return trip to fully experience what the Azores has to offer and would hope to stay at Luis’ apartment.

We stayed here for the entire month of January and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The apartment is way bigger than would normally be chosen by a retired farm couple, but the size and arrangement presented an opportunity for us to invite any of our three sons and their families in Canada to come over and visit us for whatever length of time they were able to get away. We were even able to host a fellow writer and her husband for lunch on their first day in the Azores. They were suitably impressed with the facilities we enjoyed in relation to what they had to "put up with" in a one-room hotel accommodation. Our youngest grandson (along with his Mom and Dad) spent a week with us. The apartment came with a crib and high chair which worked perfectly, but Luis and his housekeeper went a step further and stuck protective rubber corner guards on the edges of the fireplace, TV stand, and other sharp points where an inquisitive 9-month old baby could have hurt himself. That extra step was very much appreciated. For the first couple of weeks, we just used the excellent bus network to get around the island. When our son's family arrived, we wanted to rent a car so Luis arranged to meet with us and introduce us to a trusted rental agency not far from the apartment. The car rental company must appreciate Luis' recommendations as they gave us a baby seat for free and dispensed with the extra charges for an additional driver. It can be challenging to find a parking space during the daytime on the busy street in front of this apartment, but Luis also provided a complimentary parking pass to one of the garages not far away. We did not have to use this pass during the two-week rental period as we usually didn't come back from excursions until later in the day when spaces were available. The apartment location worked out even better than we had anticipated. The public market is just a 5-minute walk away so we had fresh food available at all times during the month. It is only a 10-minute walk to the harbour promenade where each of the three island bus companies provide innumerable routes throughout the day to all the key places on Sao Miguel. An up-to-date bus schedule is available at the tourism office, which is also on the waterfront. All the main sites within Ponta Delgada can be reached on foot from this apartment, although it should be noted that we are a very energetic couple so a 45-minute walk to the more distant venues was no problem for us.

Luis’s apartment was huge, with an open kitchen and hardwood floors. Luis was very attentive, meeting us upon our arrival to show us around his apartment. He even provided a basket of local Azorian food. The apartment comes with a parking space on the nearby university campus grounds (a min walk from the apartment) which alleviated the problem of finding a place to park our rental. The apartment was within walking distance of all of Ponta Delgada’s attactions. Great stay.

Where to begin, the home owner was so helpful in every way. He met us late at night after our flight arrived to let us in and provide information. He had the home prepared for our visit, including everything we needed and more. He was very responsive and helpful , providing great information on things to do and see during our stay. The home was exceptional, spectacular! Thank you Luis, for all you did.

We absolutely loved our time in Sao Miguel and Luis' property was perfect for our family of 5 adults and two kids. There was more than enough space for us. The property is well accommodated. Luis was a gracious host, making every effort to accommodate our check-in time and providing a great little gift basket full of Azorean products. If we have the opportunity to return to Sao Miguel we will certainly book with Luis again.

This property is wonderful! I can't recommend it highly enough. My family had a delightful and comfortable stay in the apartment, which is large and well-appointed. The location is very convenient for shops, restaurants, and the sea front and Ponta Delgada is an attractive town. The island is beautiful and very easy to get around. Luis was extremely hospitable and helpful to my family members who arrived late at night and showed them around town the next morning. I though this looked too good to be true, but it's really that good!

While we were a bit surprised at Ponta Delgada in general, this location was smack dab in the city, close to the action. Luis was great to deal with before and especially during our trip, always most concerned with our comfort. He spent as much time with us as needed, and responded immediately. The apartment itself was fabulous, and I am not one for superlatives. Very large, very comfortable and very clean. I highly recommend it for anyone staying in Ponta Delgado!

We are two couples, stayed at the apartment for 1 week. Kitchen is well stocked. The apartment is clean and spacious. Luis is a wonderful manager and very responsive to any of our questions. The location is convenient with easy access to Farmers Market, restaurants and harbour area. Restaurant recommendations by Luis were excellent for seafood and local cuisine. Definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Our stay in Luis's home was just perfect, we couldn't have asked for a better place. Luis was such a wonderful host, and what a treat when we arrived to be gifted with a basket of Azorean treats when we arrived, we loved them all especially the Cha Verde & the Ananas jelly. Luis was always available if we had questions or just needed some direction he was always accommodating to our needs.The apartment was spotless and one of the best places we have ever stayed in. We especially loved drinking our Cha Verde in the morning while looking out the kitchen windows towards the mountains, what a beautiful sight to wake up too. The apartment had everything you could imagine to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The beds was so comfy and always made it for a great nights sleep. This home is a hop, skip and a jump to everything you could possible need. Farmers market right down the street for daily fresh produce, cheese and wine too. Walk a little further towards the water and you'll come across a restaurant in every corner. Museums, library, shops, restaurants, botanical gardens etc. you name it, it's all within walking distance, bring your comfy walking shoes you'll need them.
