Location was great

Heating not working first 2 nights. No power in the showers. No one there to welcome us or show us around appreciate there was information noted in a book but personal touch is better

The location is absolutely stunning and the photographs don’t do it justice. The property is larger than appears from the photographs and accommodated 9 of us comfortably. We light the real fire and the Conservatory with views of the sea was breathtaking. Margaret was very friendly and helpful about accessing the property and it was good to know she was local if we needed her. We arrived to some lovely, welcome essentials like milk, bread, and wine, which was so thoughtful.

The upstairs ensuite really needs an electric power shower fitting and wasn’t just bad, it was essentially unusable with just a trickle of cold water to shower with. The oven needs replacing, the dials have worn and you can’t see the settings and the gas turns itself off whilst cooking which makes it dangerous if left unsupervised to use the hob. It took us hours to cook anything. These two things are very minor though and wouldn’t stop us staying there again. It’s just such a beautiful place.

Whilst a little jaded, the property is perfectly located - in Enniscrone, not Ballina, which is about 20 minutes away. It is spacious and potentially well equipped but some of the kitchen utensils are broken and knives are blunt. Great views. Arrived in snow and ice so it was very cold in the house when unusual low temperatures but after 2 days, really enjoyed the conservatory in the storm as we all sat watching the sea in comfort. Seaweed bath in town was relaxing too.

Needs a little decoration and minor repairs and the enormous volume of instructions could be much simpler if indexed on a few pages of a4. A few things did not appear to work on day 1 and 2 but after looking through all the instructions, we found how to work things, although the shower in the downstairs ensuite is plumbed in reverse so hot is cold which is not in all the instructions.
