Cute lil hideaway tucked away on the creek perfect for a women’s retreat. This place had the right space and landscape to host a retreat. The home had plenty of things to keep you occupied with games and water activity.
The host was wonderful and very responsive.
Highly recommend for any vacation.

This house was perfect for our annual get together as a family. The house provided plenty of beds and showers, and gathering spaces. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the view of the river from the deck, fishing off the dock, kayaking and canoeing, and gathering by the firepit.
We had a wonderful time.

We were sold on the rental because of its size, location, and pet friendliness. The hosts provided an immaculate, spacious, and attractive rental, complete with bedding and towels. The kitchen had all the necessities, including lots of flatware, mugs, glasses, plates, pots and pans. Dishwasher, coffee maker and Keurig were also provided. Full clothes washer and dryer made it possible for us to do our laundry and pack it clean for home.
Home is nestled overlooking the river. Expansive windows made us really appreciate the view.
More family would have stayed with us, but plans changed unexpectedly. Great communication with hosts. Guests are expected to take their trash to the dumpster a few miles away upon departure. Having visited the Northern Neck before, I had anticipated that. Hosts provided directions to dumpster and it was easy to find.
Air hockey was fun and spouse enjoyed televised football. I caught a movie on Netflix.
We would really enjoy another opportunity to stay there in warmer weather.

Lovely property with terrific water views. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Northern Neck region of Virginia. Owners are very cordial and accomodating. Would certainly stay again!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the "Rivah" home. The property is great....right on the water. We spent every night building a fire in the huge fire pit. There are several hiking destinations and cute towns a short distance away. It's so peaceful and quiet where the home is located. We had the best sleep in years! Would definitely recommend it! The host was very communicative and super friendly.

We had a great time this past weekend at this property. Location is very peaceful and private. Property is clean and well kept. The view was amazing! Great place for fishing and kayaking. It was very relaxing ! Perfect place to unplug !

The property has so much to do! It is large, filled with activities indoors and out and very very beautiful. We looked that it had something for everyone from games, to grilling to water realtors activities. The property manager was very responsive and helpful not only with our stay but additional things (like recommendations and future bookings).

Great house, very clean, super fun lower level. Fun crabbing off the dock.

Nice location for boating and enjoying time with family!

Great location right on the river. Beautiful deck and dock with plenty of seats for the family. Kayaks and a canoe were available to use and my 2 grandkids had a blast learning how to fish and kayak. In fact on the first night my grandson said that he was in paradise. Would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed this lovely home and great location. So relaxing! Sauna was a hit!!

We were a group of six adults and we all concurred that we loved this property! We relaxed, cooked, played games (love the air hockey!), hung out in all the areas, especially on the pier to watch the sun go down. Grace has wonderful eye for decor and comfort and makes it easy in the kitchen with labels on the cabinets. We will definitely return for another get together. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Great property for playing and having fun in the water. There is a professional net set up for volleyball or badminton. Bring anything you want to play. Had fun playing air hockey. Wish we stayed longer to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful river front home. We were lucky with perfect weather, so we were able to enjoy canoe rides, fishing, campfires and just relaxing on the dock.
4.9
Very nice deck and wonderful view of Greenvale Creek. Mattress in second floor bedroom needs to be replaced. Gas grill in front yard has an empty propane tank and not sure it works. Grill in backyard is workable.
4.9
Very pretty property. The host was very attentive and responded quickly with any questions. We didn’t realize the 3rd bedroom is a loft with no door until the day before check in and we also didn’t realize how many stairs there were
Both inside and outside the house. My daughter is recovering from ankle surgery and our dog has bad hips so the steps were difficult for them. They river was also full of jellyfish which prevented us from getting in the water. Otherwise a very nice property.

Great weekend getaway!
We stayed here for a quiet weekend with family and it was perfect! Beautiful views from the dock and we loved getting to go kayaking each day! A wonderful place to stay!

Quiet Waterfront Getaway
Want to get away from it all? This home is clean, quiet, and isolated but stocked with all the comforts of home. My parents enjoyed the master bedroom on the main level (second floor) of the home so they didn't have to tackle the stairs unless they wanted to head down to the river. They could enjoy the sun room and screened in porch while the kids and teens ran around the house. Top floor is the loft bedroom with access to hallway bathroom shared by the other bedroom. Ground floor has the pullout couch and another full bathroom with showerstall. Teens enjoyed the sauna, volleyball, firepit, and air hockey table and Wifi. We all loved the kayaks with life jackets in all sizes ready to go. The creek is still and quiet and perfect for crabbing and fishing. We loved watching the lone little boat of 2 local folks crabbing in the early morning. They were really the only people we saw all week!
Highly recommend Rogue oysters. Some of the best oysters we've ever had! Order ahead of time and they'll have your fresh order ready for pick up at the marina across the creek. Loved kayaking along all the coves of the creek and out to the river at the mouth of the creek.
Don't miss Stevie's ice cream in town and Belle Island State park nearby. The little ones loved playing in the sand at the park and floating in the calm river waters. Nice playground at the park too. Plenty of flat parking lots and roads for biking.
Hiking trails after a major storm were washed out and impassible. Oh well, Rivah life. Had a little trouble finding firewood for sale but landed on Ellen's Country Store and they had a bundle that met our needs. Well stocked kitchen, linens and towels provided but you may wish to pack extra towels if you have 10 people. Easy check in and check out. Owner easily available via text message all week. You take your own trash and recycling out to the dump. It's an easy 5 min drive down the road. Perfect place for our multigenerational family get away.

Fabulous views from every room. Bright and clean. Kitchen stocked with pots, pans, casserole dishes, huge number of utensils, and many spices. Great fun with the kayaks. Sitting on the deck near the firepit, overlooking the water, watching the sunset...sublime. Did I mention the eagles, swooping down from three nests on the cove, catching fish. And a great property host who is very responsive and helped us with ideas on activities in the area.

Our family spent Christmas at this wonderful river house. The house was perfect for our stay and was very clean! The location was exactly what we were looking for during the pandemic, nice and secluded with everything we needed at the house. We were lucky enough to have warm enough weather to allow us to utilize the kayaks, canoe, and stand up paddle boards. The views were our favorite part at both sunrise and sunset, as well as all throughout the day. There were many locations to see the river, whether it was from inside the sunroom, the screened in porch, or from one of the many outdoor chairs on the deck or dock. We also enjoyed the fire pit a few nights though it was hard to find firewood during the winter; the 7-Eleven in Kilmarnock was our best bet in addition to finding small, fallen branches/twigs around the large wooded property. Grace was always very responsive to texts and was very helpful throughout the stay with various hikes in the area. We can’t wait to stay again in the summer (or during any season)!

We were looking for a quiet house with nice views to relax in the week before Christmas. The online reviews were very positive, so we decided to give it a try as our first VRBO property. Starting with booking - the owner Grace was very accessible and answered questions almost immediately. The house is exactly as described and more - very secluded with gorgeous views in almost all directions. My favorite thing was to sit and read in a cozy chair while looking at the river. This house was a little larger than we needed for a family of 3 plus a dog. If you have a bigger group, there is ample seating everywhere. Many outside lounge seats as well as plenty of seating inside and even an outdoor bar with barstools. We arrived the week before Christmas and the house was decorated for the holidays - nice touch. The kitchen was also fully stocked with dishes, coffeemaker, and toaster. There is even a volleyball net and fire pit outside. Since it was December, we didn't use any of the water toys but there were canoes, paddle boards, etc. The back deck and dock had pretty outside lights set up. I gave this house 5 stars but if I had to come up with something less than ideal it would be walking the dog at night. Since the house is so secluded and right on the water, there was no real lawn or fenced in area to let my dog out off leash. For my dog's night time walk I would take him down the driveway. Although I had a flashlight, it would still be pretty dark. Not a big deal at all, just remember to bring a flashlight if you need to walk your dog at night. Just down the road is the Belle Isle park - it costs $5 to park but well worth it. We saw one other car there and had the beach to ourselves. The restaurants were not to far away, our favorite was Merroir, about 35 minutes from the house. Finally, Grace was an amazing host - we want to return in the summer!

The house is overall nice. We enjoyed the house and the view was awesome. One of the queen size beds was very uncomfortable. Wifi is not perfect. You can connect to search anything, but it is not good enough to watch videos. You will not have access to your phone’s internet within a radius of 1 mile of the house. Dock and the firepit area is very nice to spend time.

Family and friends a birthday weekend.
We loved the light and private very home feeling space. Lots of places to play or spend time catching up on the river. We had a wonderful time. Our host was terrific answering our questions so we knew how to prepare.

Peaceful and Private
We thoroughly enjoyed our short getaway at this property. Grace was great at communicating and providing information ahead of our trip. The house is beautiful, but the setting is the best. It's very private and quiet. We loved spending time on the screened in porch overlooking the water. We also enjoyed the fire pit and sitting on the dock. We would definitely return.

We brought our motorcycles down and might have found 2 stop lights in the whole county so great riding. Some amazing small local eateries, don't miss Carwash Cafe. Sunset kayaking from the homes private dock was a must. The house is fantastic and an even better yard. We especially liked the long driveway giving lots of privacy and run to play. The house is delightfully updated and fresh. The hosts offer great hospitality. It was a very uneventful week which was everything we had hoped for.

Just what we were looking for!
We had a excellent stay here. Grace is a fantastic host - unparalleled communication pre trip (local guides, house expectations) and during the trip when a couple of minor issues arose. House was perfect for our family - we enjoyed the kayaks; the local boat launch for our Sunfish sailboat; the fire pit; the views from the many patio spaces and several interior rooms. We rented a motorboat to get a broader view of the area and tremendously enjoyed our time on the water. Highly recommended! thank you, Grace!
