We stayed at the property in early February and it perfectly met our needs. Plenty of space for four adults and setup well. Very clean. Property manager was very helpful and great to work with.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this really cool house! It was immaculate and stocked with everything one could possibly need. There was even a welcome basket with snacks and a bottle of Prosecco! We will definitely be booking this home again. The only downfall is the surrounding properties seemed a little shady.

This is our fourth stay at this property. Even after trying a few other VRBO properties in Athens, we keep coming back to this one! The owners are a joy to work with, the home is nicely appointed and always clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is convenient to everything we do in Athens. The fenced backyard is an added bonus when traveling with our dog. We will absolutely continue to book here.

We rented this property to tend to a family member who was hospitalized nearby. It’s been a very rough time and this house has been the perfect anecdote. The bright colors, cozy charm, delightful decor is the polar opposite of the hospital and this home has brightened all of our spirits in a hard time. The kitchen is fully stocked with every utensil, pot, pan, or sharp knife you will need. The yard is perfect for a dog and the location is enviable. If you want a lovely stay in a lovely home, you will find it here.

Easy access to everything in Athens

I loved this place. We insist on staying at high end accommodations, but usually have to take our big dogs. This place had both of what we expect. We love the fenced in back yard, where we could exercise our dogs on site. The house was so nice and uniquely decorated like the 1960s. So perfect for the UGA music era! We would definitely stay here again.
You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

I fell in love when I opened the door! This property is amazing! The 30's bungalow is in fantastic shape and the owners have spared nothing when it comes to décor. The yard is well maintained and certainly a bonus for a weekend stay. The house is very well appointed and comfortable. We felt at home for sure. It is in walking distance to downtown and stadium....really everything you need. The neighborhood is like most of Athens; well maintained properties alongside those that are not, but we felt perfectly safe and comfortable. The hosts are amazing! The process and our experience was efficient and flawless. We look forward to staying here again!

Perfect downtown cottage!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the property and everything about the house was perfect. The owners are incredibly thoughtful in terms of how the home is provisioned and made it very easy for us to have an enjoyable stay. Another bonus is the house is walking distance from downtown which we took advantage of a few times.

Amazing House and Location!!!!!!
We had a perfect stay in "Old School." Straight walk to Creature Comforts Brewery. Took about 12 minutes to walk downtown and always felt safe. Spent 3 days with our son who will be attending UGA in the fall. We were able to walk everywhere we went . . . even to Mama's Boy for breakfast one morning (about 1.9 miles). Joel was an extremely gracious host who called us beforehand to make sure everything would be ready when we arrived. The house is like a blast from the Athens 80s/90s past. As a 1994 graduate, I appreciated all the artwork, furniture, coffee table book with flyers from shows, etc. We also enjoyed the record player with records provided, Cornhole, the covered porch, the washing machine/dryer, and the fenced yard for our beagle. Beds and linens were VERY comfortable. Thank you for a perfect weekend! We plan to come back :)

Very nice place. Great hosts.
The hosts have put a lot of thought and effort into making the house comfortable and well provisioned. We appreciated this very much as we were there for several days and needed to settle in a little. Downtown and campus are a comfortable walk and other parts of the city are easily accessible. The house is in a neighborhood that has a lot of variability in the condition of the homes, but we never felt uncomfortable and we walked every day.

Great home.
Very clean, lots of character - decorator had fun with oldies but goodies. Perfect for dogs. Great for pre-game picnic with family. Good location. Too far to walk to the stadium for us older people but enjoyed the walk to the edge of east downtown. Uber to stadium was only ten minutes despite heavy traffic. Would definitely recommend. Property owner very nice.

Old School Rocks!!
This was our second stay at Old School and it was again amazing! Owners are great with communicating, place is SUPER clean, they have everything you need, neighbors are friendly and it’s so quiet!! Short walk to downtown, stadium and Bottleworks. (Back yard is so nice you may not want to leave). Pictures don’t do the place justice! Great place, great owners and I would stay again and again!

BEST STAY EVER!!
This place is such GEM!! Pics don't do it justice! SO CLEAN and all the decor is amazing! Super quiet neighborhood and close to everything! Our Furbaby loved the back yard and I felt completely safe in this wonderful home! We are staying again next month and I would stay here over and over for our mini vacay's to Athens!

I don’t know what I enjoyed more , the modern retro decor or the great location to UGA . The house was perfectly cleaned inside and out . My entire check in was smooth due to the excellent communication from the owners . I look forward to booking this house in the near future . GO DAWGS !!!

Family Stay
This property was just as pictured. It was clean and nice. No issues and the beds were comfortable. The only thing I would say is the house next door was dilapidated and made me concerned for the neighborhood. The neighbors we saw were friendly but if I were a single female staying alone there at night I would not feel comfortable. However, I am not familiar with the area and my husband and I with our kids felt safe. The house was nice, it was quiet and the amenities were nice too. Would stay there again and the owner was accommodating.

Old school rocks
Renting from Joel & Dana was awesome. They literally were so nice. Communication was awesome, they were always a quick phone call or text away. As for the house, pics don’t do it justice. It’s so adorable. It’s so so so clean. Great location, right down the road from all of Athen’s great restaurants and nightlife. The decorations in the house are so cool as well. Joel & Dana have really made this place a great place to rent. Highly recommend.

Excellent place, great hosts
We did an extended 9-day family stay in Athens, with 2 adults remote-working, 2 teenagers doing remote school, and 1 dog along for the ride. The house was great -- each of us had a place to work, and the dog had a backyard to frolic in. 12 minute walk to downtown Athens, plenty of coffee & food places nearby. Interior is funky & thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed to cook for ourselves most meals. Finally, the hosts were great communicators, warm and friendly, and super-helpful. (Cheerfully mailed us a left-behind coat). Highly recommended!

For Good Athens Vibes, Look No Further
If you are looking for a comfortable, clean house with good vibes and a prime location nearby to all the main Athens spots, look no further - THIS IS YOUR PLACE! Joel and his wife have curated a great feel in the house - 40's - 80's throwbacks. The hubby enjoyed jamming to the records on the record player (and now wants one for his birthday!). Plenty of room in the house. Fenced in yard which was great since we traveled with our four-legged family member also. Comfortable beds. Love that the two-bed bedroom has queen beds, so our sons had plenty of room. A couple snags on the check-in, but Joel responded immediately and had both issues resolved within minutes. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable, convenient Athens stay. We'd book again without hesitation!

This is our second time staying at this wonderful property. The owners are kind and very easy to work with. The property is clean, well appointed, and close to the best of Athens. The fact that the home is pet friendly is an added bonus. Will continue to book this property when coming to Athens.

Perfect size and very clean
My family included my husband, our three kids and grandma. Even though we filled every bed we still had plenty of space and never felt like we were cramped. The house was clean and very comfortable. The neighborhood is coming along, older homes with more of them getting some renovations in. The owner, Mr. Brooks, was very easy to communicate with. I would stay here again.

Great location for walks into downtown Athens and perfect for dogs
My husband, two boys, two mini-goldendoodles and I stayed here in August while we were getting hardwood floors installed 45 miles away. The house is very cozy and comfortable and the fenced in yard is a great bonus if you have two dogs. We walked every morning to downtown Athens with the dogs to various coffee shops. In the evening, we walked to various restaurants for dinner. While the pandemic was a downer, leading to reduced hours and service or all out closures of restaurants and coffee shops, being able to walk to places was great.
The appliances were all very nice and the retro 60s furnishing was a hit with my set designer/art director hubby. Though we didn't cook anything during our stay cause I hate cooking- the kitchen was well stocked. We liked the leather couch so much that we are thinking of buying it for our home!
The internet worked great so I was able to have video conferences while my kids watched Netflix with zero connectivity problems.
With the exception of the very expensive 3 story condo we rented in Jackson Hole Wyoming, this is the cleanest VRBO/AirBNB in which we have stayed. If we need to do another stay-cation in Athens, we would definitely stay here again.

Hidden gem in Athens
This is a wonderful house! Clean, fully stocked, and nicely decorated! Joel was a great communicator and made sure we felt at home. We wished the weather would have been a little warmer to enjoy all the outside had to offer. We will stay again. Recommend this properly to others!!!

Love this place!
The moment we pulled in and opened the gate we felt at home. The house was perfect and very comfortable. Love the “old school” feel; goes well with the Athens vibe. Joel and Dana were great hosts and even made sure to stock the fire pit before we arrived. We will be back again.

Nice Place for Football Weekend
Came with a group of family and friends for a football weekend and had a great time. House is simple and has everything you need and a great backyard with plenty of parking. Neighborhood is developing but safe. You are about a 20 min walk from campus which is a bit too long at night so we ended up taking more Ubers than I anticipated but it's quick and cheap to do so and they were readily available. Overall it's a great place and a great town. Would certainly go back.
