Tolles Guesthouse in Dambulla

Sehr liebe Familie die das Guesthouse betreibt. Er hat mit uns an zwei Tagen Ausflüge zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten rund um das kulturelle Dreieck gemacht, zu einem sehr sehr guten Preis! Abends hat seine Frau für uns gekocht und es war super lecker sowie auch das Frühstück.

A kind a hospitable family that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome

A kind and hospitable family that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and happy. They could organise everything for you if you so wish. The home was kept spotless clean. The breakfast was delicious and in abundance. Dambulla itself is really nice. It provides a glimpse of real Sri Lanka and we appreciated the conversations we had with the hosts. The cave temple is near by and main tourist attractions such as Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa are a must. We saw lots of elephants at the safari, up close, and enjoyed the wonderful views of Pidurangula rock. Thank you!

Fantastic hosts

The hosts are very kind and helpful. They collected us from the bus station in a tuktuk free of charge. They can also bring you to Sigiriya rock at sunrise. The breakfast was delicious local Sri Lankan food. The room was basic but comfortable with good aircon. Would really recommend this accommodation.

Everything exceptional

Everything was perfect. The family is very nice. They are always trying to feel you like home. I could arrange with my host 3 tours to places I wanted to see, so it was very convinient for me. The room is comfortable, the breakfast is exceptional, and also they prepared a typical Sri Lanka's meal for me and for the other 4 guests for free. He offered to pick me up with no extra charge at the bus station, but as I was moving by car, it was not necessary. He helped me to take the bus to Kandy, using his tuk-tuk taking me to the bus stop and also helping me to take the correct bus, and all for free too. I strongly recommend this place to everybody

Чистый и уютный номер, прекрасные владельцы, которые были к нам очень внимательны и дружелюбны. Нас угощали вкусным соком и разнообразным завтраком. На вечер мы заказали у хозяев национальное блюдо Коту) очень все понравилось! Всем советую! Мы взяли в аренду тук-тук у владельца, за день до этого он очень терпеливо и подробно обучал меня им управлять, за что ему огромная благодарность! В день отъезда отвез нашу семью до вокзала и помог сесть в нужный автобус) Было очень приятно провести время в этом отеле! Спасибо!

Sehr zu empfehlen

Sehr hilfsbereiter Vermieter, der immer für einen da ist und der gute Tipps für Unternehmungen aller Art parat hat. Das Essen (Frühstück und Abendessen) war mit Liebe zubereitet, geschmacklich einzigartig und sehr reichlich. Ruhige Lage und dennoch zentral, gute Matratzen und super sauber. Wir sind aufgrund der Bewertungen hier gelandet und können es uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen. Preis-Leistung top.

Her şey harikaydı. Muhteşem Sri Lanka’lı bir ailenin yanında kendinizi evinizde gibi hissediyorsunuz, yıllardır böyle bir misafirperver işletmecilerle karşılaşmadım. Sanki ailelerinden biriymiş gibi hissetmemi sağladılar. Çok kıymetli ev sahibi bana Sigiriya ve Dambulla mağarası gibi ziyaretleri çok uygun bir fiyata da sağladı. Harika bir gün geçirdim beni otobüs durağından alması, yemek için kendi restoranlarına götürmeleri, muhteşem kahvaltısı say say bitmiyor. Yolum buralara düşerse tereddüt etmeden kesin uğrayacağım

It's a must have for staying on Dambulla

Wonderful people! Nilan and his wife are very hospitable and helpful. We were picked up at the bus stop and welcomed with a delicious cocktail. The breakfasts were local, large, varied and incredibly delicious. When we wanted to eat the purchased fruit for dinner, it was prepared for us. We traveled with Nilan to Sigiriya, Polanaruva and Anuradhapura by tuk tuk for a good price, with culture and sensitivity. He was our great guide, he made sure no one cheated us, he surprised us with additional attractions and showed to us cool places. When we were not sure about the travel plan, he gave us other interesting suggestions. And when I forgot my clothes, he and his wife arranged to delivered it to us when we passed through Dambulle again. Nilan put us on the right bus to Nilavela and his wife on the return to Kandy. A clean, fragrant and well-kept place for a very low price. The best Sri Lankans we have every met! We would like to always meet people like them. We hope to come back on future and see how Nilan will expanding his place :)

Great stay, lovely hosts, highly reccomended

The house was clean and well-maintained. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, and I wish we had known before we could have had dinner at their place.

The 2-bed rooms were a bit tiny, but they are renovating it to make it bigger.

Decent

The host is really nice, he let us use his kitchen, also dropped us to Sigiria.

The rooms are miss-sold a little it says that the family room has 2 double beds but it really has 2 single beds which can’t accommodate 2 people on one bed. Also, he arranged a taxi (his friend) for us to go to Ella, and was agreed at 31k but the driver was extremely rude just after he dropped us and started making excuses to get more money and he even contacted the host and even after I tried to explain what nonsense was going on he didn’t ask the driver to just leave. I ended up paying more for a pathetic cab service. I’d rather pay more and use pick me for better service.

Great but loud

The owners are lovely and amazing cooks. You must have at least a dinner there, it was the best food we've had in Sri Lanka in two weeks. The room is small but comfortable, there's everything we needed

Unfortunately it's quite noisy, at 5:30 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m. there's an incredibly loud recording of Buddhist prayers coming from down the road lasting for an hour.

You will feel like at home

very nice, helpful owner of the homestay as well as the whole family gave us great comfort during our stay - the room was clean and fragrant - breakfast was delicious - the owner has a tuk tuk and at a reasonable price can take you to the planned place plus in our case he showed a lot of additional places that are worth seeing in Dambulla - the owner is a great cook, he prepared a wonderful dinner for us - very good location, close to the center where you can buy or just see fresh vegetables and fruits - yummy!

There is a prayer at dawn from a Buddhist temple - all over Dambulla so it's not a homestay issue. So if you're a traveler this also gives you a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a place and learn about its customs.

Almost perfect, except...

Incredible hosts, fantastic breakfast, location is reasonably close to the caves and to town. Room is tidy and nice. Good value. Almost perfect if not for ...

At 530am everyday the temple next door has it's ceremony, involving blasting loud chanting from speakers. It absolutely fills the room and lasts for an hour and earplugs don't babe much difference. Not many others mentioned this, so maybe I'm a more sensitive sleeper than average but it is difficult to imagine anyone at all sleeping through it. If I had known, I wouldn't have stayed.

The owner is very kind and he want's to be helpful with everything that we have asked for him. He has a tuk tuk and he transported us everywhere we wanted. Very kind family and friendlyThank you for everything that you did for us! They cooked for us a traditional dinner and we were thirled to be a part of that dinner. Nice room and comfortable and very clean.

Really good

The location was good and the place was nice. The room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. You can have dinner if you want too. The host was very helpful, he took us with his tuk tuk to Sigiriya and then to the bus station.

Superb

The air-conditioning in the room is useful. Very nice terrace with hammock that we shared with the other guests. Lots of flowers and fruits in the garden. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The host is super friendly and helpful. He drove us in his tuk tuk to Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa and in the evening his wife had prepared a wonderful Curry and rice.

The room is simple and a bit small. But we didn't mind that.

Best place to stay while you are at Dambulla

Host is the best! He offered us welcome drinks and after check-out took us to the temple which we wanted to see. Room nice and clean. Good internet connection
