Guests loved the serene setting, clean accommodations, and outdoor activities like fishing at the pond. The property was well-equipped, cozy, and had everything needed for a relaxing retreat. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

It was perfect for our trip - 2 nights away. We regretted not having booked atleast 3 nights!!

Great place to rest and relax. The creek is so peaceful to hear the moment you get out of your vehicle. The cabin is tastefully decorated and clean. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and effort into providing everything you might need. All we needed was food drinks and charcoal for the grill. My husband enjoyed fishing and my little dog enjoyed taking walks and exploring. There is plenty to do or do nothing at all, it’s equipped for both. Love this place and would definitely return again.

Lovely cabin, big porch, hammock by the creek. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen.

As soon as you get out of your car you can hear the creeks little waterfalls next to the front porch. A large pond with a small dock was our view from the porch. The hummingbirds come and go on the bird feeders most of the day but especially in the mornings and dusk.
The beds were comfortable and the place is fully equipped. All of it was beautiful. We will 100% go back someday.

Perfect Father's Day based trip for the family. The property is private! My dad enjoyed fishing without having to travel or walk too far from the house. Pet friendly really sealed the deal for us.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. Great location, beautiful. Home is so cute. My children adores the bedroom decor.

This property has everything you could want or need besides food everything from games to fishing or watching the turtle. We went to emerald village to emerald mines and to Little Switzerland it was a wonderful stay. Will definitely stay again

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Directions & access to property were easy to understand. We had no issues at all. Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay, the house had everything we needed, was clean and in a good location for hiking. The property has a cute pond as shown in the photos but sadly we missed the ducks others have mentioned. We had s'mores using the fire pit and were happy about all the outdoor seating and lights. Would stay again!

We were very happy with the accommodations! Beautiful private setting - easy check in - Wifi & TV. This listing was everything it said it would be & more (except for the fishing which wasn't great - there are fish in the pond they just were not cooperating LOL). Did not realize that it was actually located directly on 226A or would have brought dual sport to enjoy. So happy I could enjoy having my dog with us & she had a wonderful time too. Would recommend this cabin highly!!

This property exceeded all expectations! I hope to book a stay again soon and will recommend to my friends and family that visit the area.

What a perfect location! We could hear the waterfall as we stepped out of the car and I knew I’d picked the perfect place. The beautiful blooming trees were a huge plus. We spent a lot of time at the pond watching fish swim by. Turkeys visited every morning! Even my teens loved the place.

We had a delightful time at this serene, beautiful home. Sitting by the pond listening to the nearby creek, enveloped in nature was a welcome reprieve. The cabin was clean, cozy, and beautifully appointed. The owners were wonderfully communicative. We would definitely visit again.

Gorgeous property! So relaxing, just sitting on the porch, listening to the stream go by. The duck pond was great, too--had tons of newts to watch from the pier. Close to so much--if you're not having a good time here, be it relaxing or on the move, you're doing it wrong! Will definitely be back, for sure.

We wanted to stay near the inlaws for an early mountain Christmas. This place was perfect. Well equiped and clean. Plenty of games and things to entertain the kids. The pond and creek were a big hit.

Our family had such a fun and relaxing weekend at Duck Pond Mountain Retreat. The kids loved exploring the vast property and attempting to catch fish in the pond. The stream and little waterfalls were very relaxing.
The inside of the home is cozy and beautifully decorated. The stocked kitchen and essentials were appreciated. Looking forward to our next visit!

This property was more than expected. The sound of the stream was so peaceful. We spent time visiting Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland, but most of our time was sitting at the pond, fishing.
The house/cabin was clean, well decorated and had everything needed for a home away from home. It was hard to leave, when time to go home, but we will be back.

This was our second time at this property, this time with our children 4/7. The location is awesome with the creek bordering the property line and the pond on the property. We were able to fish and catch a few and spent hours outside playing the games that are provided. We look forward to the time when we can get back out to this little piece of paradise.

The cabin was clean, quiet and secluded, but close enough to everything to be convenient.

So peaceful, secluded and beautiful. House was comfortable and had everything we needed. Caught (and released) a couple of bass and sunfish in the pond. Best sandwiches I’ve ever had at the Switzerland Cafe just up the road (1.1 miles as the crow flies but 5.6 miles of road- what does that tell you?). Local driving not for the faint of heart. Our dog was happy. We would totally recommend Duck Pond.

We love this house! Beautiful property with the sound of a stream rushing by, big porch to enjoy the woods, very clean well-supplied house. Don and Laura are very helpful and responsive. We will be back!

Marvelous stay. Everything was as described. Most memorable was the stream with several mini waterfalls which provided soothing natural music complimented by the bull frog chorus. The firefly show each evening was super!

My husband and I took our kids and his mother for a 6 day stay. The pictures truly do not do justice for how nice and peaceful the place is. We left one time to get grocers our first night. We never left again. The kids and husband had so much to do on the property. They supply all kinds of out door games along with a grill and fire pit. Little peace of heaven with the family was all we needed. We will be back to visit again.

This is our 3rd time at this property. It’s just hard to beat and can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Calm, peaceful, well put together, fishing and rushing stream on property. What more can you ask for?

Great location, views and space. Will be back for sure.

This is a perfect spot to get away from it all in the mountains while still being close to nearby activities. The house was clean and very comfortable and there were tons of great spots outdoors to enjoy the property including the pond and creek. Our kids had a blast just exploring all around. The location is also great - only a few minutes from Little Switzerland and the Blue Ridge Parkway while also not being too far from groceries and restaurants.

Our stay was amazing. We never left the property. It was well stocked with all we needed to prepare meals and enjoy our relaxing vacation. From large mugs and wine glasses to fuzzy blankets and pillows. We are already planning a return trip next year. 10/10 recommend!!!

It was decorated really cute. We were looking forward to fishing , but not much fish in the pond. Really enjoyed the waterfall stream.

Just go. Really. Amazing and magical surroundings. Unplug and listen to the creek, look out over the beautiful pond. Just absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Everything in the home you could need, but if you don’t feel like cooking, there are DoorDash options available even though you are in the mountains. Couldn’t be happier. Already booked the property again for time in the summer.

I doubt there is enough room to say everything we loved about this cabin. Our first time using VRBO and boy are we glad we did. If you want a nice relaxing get away this cabin is for you. We fell in love with the cabin and the property, if it was for sale we would buy it, we loved it so much

Our family of five plus dog enjoyed our weekend fall getaway here. The creek was fabulous for the soul, and fun to play in. Our boys fished for hours in the pond (although unsuccessfully). We grilled out, sat by the fire and played yard games. When it was raining, we did a puzzle and played chess. Overall clean and cozy place with cabin vibes.

This was our third time staying at this property. We continually come back because the owner keeps it in wonderful shape and is great to work with.
