About this house rental

Privately nestled in old-growth woodland on a one acre lot in a Maggie Valley mountainside community, Falling Waters offers 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and lots of space for stretching out and enjoying all that mountain living has to offer. A rushing stream spans the property, pouring over boulders and filling the air with the sound of falling water. Falling Waters is perfect for
multi-family gatherings or couples looking for a beautiful mountain getaway.
On the main level, the great room is a wonderful gathering space, from the rustic wood floors to the towering cathedral ceiling, complete with skylight and a spacious, secure loft that is a favorite spot for our kids.
The great room is warmed by a gas burning Jotul fireplace, filled with comfortable furnishings and accompanied by a ‘smart’ TV system. Also on the main level of the home are two king size suites and a modern kitchen with maple cabinets and lots of counter space. The creek level of the home, renovated in 2016, has a cozy den with a smart TV entertainment system and ample comfortable furnishings. At creek level, 2 brightly-appointed adjoining bedrooms include queen and twin beds, respectively.

Positive comments first: Well paved, easy access to cabin. Beautiful Creek on property. Plenty of pillows & bedding. Comfortable beds. Good Hot Tub. Great pots & pans. HOT tap water. Hosts provide laundry products, paper products, hygiene products. Perhaps a binder with Wi-Fi password & Trash/recycle info and address would be helpful. Now the not so positive: We stayed for a month, so we noticed more than a typical renter might. Master tub very slippery when you are all soaped up, we bought a tub mat for safety. Large pothole at top of driveway, Bridge rail lights not working, Dishwasher leaks (hosts are aware of this), one burner on stove not working. Mugs, glasses, bowls & plates could be rearranged for easier access. Cabin would benefit from a Deep Cleaning & touch up paint, lots of dust bunnies & webs in laundry room. Crumbs and dirt under sofa near kitchen. Mold in Keurig coffee drip tray. We switched the hoses on washing machine, the hot and cold-water hoses were hooked up incorrectly.

My family stayed here in the middle of June and it was so nice. The house and property has lots of shade so it stayed nice and cool. We especially loved the deck with the grill and spent lots of time hanging out there. I will say that the downstairs gets pretty cold sometimes (no fault of the owners!) so if you want the thermostat to be set at a comfortable temp in the upstairs then the bottom areas are quite chilly! But they did supply lots of extra blankets. Also if you want to sit by the fire pit bring a couple of folding chairs because there is limited seating by the fire pit. There is a big log to sit on as well as a picnic table but the smoke always seemed to flow directly toward the picnic table and that made us have to move around. However, when we went to get some of the plastic chairs that were there on the deck, one of them was already broken and the other snapped! Probably just time to go to chair heaven, but anyways just FYI. Again not faulting the owners - these things happen. Overall everyone loved the house. I would definitely recommend it.
