Overall, a nice stay at this property. Plenty of everything you might need - the description of what is provided is accurate. We came in the first night after dark though, and the house number was hard to see as it is small and the grass around it was high. The gate to the community is located along the steep grade going up, and accessing the keypad to open the gate can be a bit of a challenge. The house has plenty of space and sleeping accommodations. Our party included a number of folks with asthma though, so the basement/den (which includes 5 of the beds) was underutilized for sleeping and general use by the whole group due to a distinct odor of mildew.

Our family had a great stay at this cabin! Beautiful view and great space for us all. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The downstairs "kids room" was definitely a lot colder than the rest of the house, but there were plenty of blankets provided. The driveway could use a little larger sign to be clearly labeled, but the neighborhood was nice and quiet. There were 2 nice tables on the porch that weren't shown in the pictures, but we enjoyed eating, playing games, and bird watching outside with the beautiful view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this cabin. The host was responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

Check in was easy, view was wonderful. House was clean except for the large amount of black mold found in basement. Unable to reach contact personnel after storm and internet went out.

We spent 4 nights in July during a visit from my brothers family. The cabin is great! All the details were well done. Everyone had their space, which was great on rainy days. Not a bad drive to Gatlinburg or Asheville. Very convenient to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. We all loved it and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at settlers cabin. The cabin was very clean and has everything that we needed for our weekly stay. The only real complaint that we have is that the beds are not that comfortable. You can tell that they are old and well used because you can feel the springs in the mattress in the basement and the spare room on the main floor had a very lumpy mattress. Besides that it was a great cabin with an amazing view of the mountains.

We rented this house with our 4 children and 2 sets of grandparents. Everyone loved the beautiful views, layout, and big front porch. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable. The downstairs unit was a bit difficult to figure out how to heat, but overall the stay was amazing. The kids enjoyed the play room. The house was also close to many amazing hikes. The host was easy to contact and so accommodating. We would stay again! Thank you for your hospitality!

Location and property were great only negative point is WiFi and TV access not so good. Also just know that cell coverage is very spotty.

Good, could be better
Lovely cabin on the mountain with plenty of room to sleep a large gathering. Unfortunately the property management company isn’t very concerned with simple touches that would add to the experience, nor do they seem to care about guest comfort and/or aggravation.
There’s an honor wine bar, but no wine. There’s a fireplace and fire pit, but no wood. There’s a gas heater on the front porch, but no gas. Given the cost of the cabin for a week, it would seem that spending $50 on such amenities for guests wouldn’t be a stretch. At the very least add to the cabin description that you’ll need to bring a bundle of wood, propane tank, and a sharp axe up the mountain!
As annoying as that was, it’s nothing compared to the frustration of trying to get the dishwasher to start or trying to keep the heat from roasting us out. Contacted management about both items only to hear that the dishwasher “should “ work and that the thermostat was a “learning “ model. I’m not sure who taught the thermostat, but it really needs a remedial course because every night it would jump up several degrees and cook everyone until someone reset it. Then it would bump itself up again a few hours later.
There was also a broken chair and stool in the front room, which limited seating capacity, but usually at least one person was always up trying to get the dishwasher to start so that wasn’t a big problem.
Overall I’d say it was a 3.5 star cabin that could easily push 5 stars if there were a little more attention to comfort detail and more helpful responsiveness to occupants.

Fall colors were in full view from the outside deck and even in the kitchen and family room.
Great views!

First class place to stay.
We stayed in the cabin for five days with friends. Absolutely fabulous experience. Convenient. Quiet. Great value. Everything was as advertised and more so! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and decorated first class.

A Great Place to Stay in the Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area
This cabin was a great place for our one week getaway vacation from the heat of Houston. The layout was great for our group that consisted of 2 senior couples and our daughter and her four year old son. Its location is remote and serene with good mountain-top views.

cozy
If I was rating just the cabin alone, it would definitely get a 5; no complaints at all! I emailed our guest contact before our trip with no response and I also texted him before we arrived at the cabin (because it was going to be late) with no response. Luckily we did not have any issues at the cabin and didn't have to contact him during our stay.
Also, we left 3 bags of trash at the cabin and had to take what we had over 3 bags (so we wouldn't be charged $5) to a different location a few miles away. This was a little extreme in my opinion and no one failed to inform me that it was a public dumpster site and IT WAS CLOSED ON MEMORIAL DAY, even knowing my departure date. As for the cabin itself, it was wonderful, clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend.

Great cabin on top of the clouds
Cabin is great place to stay. Roomy for my crew and a place to park our bikes in the garage. The cabin is full of stuff and appliances are great condition. 3 1/2 bathroom is a plus. I love the kitchen sink. Best view!
My crew never have any issues with our 3 nights stay.
Things that I don’t like.
1. Inaccurate description/detail in the posting. Before I book it’s says good for 14 guest. Then I saw for 12 guest and then in this email it says 10 guest.
2. No details in the description that this place has video camera and that is invasion of our privacy. Or Atleast post a sign that this property is video monitored.
3. TV remote no battery and no battery cover. No way you can adjust tv volume.
4. I can’t find extra sheets or blanket in any of the rooms.
5. Wifi is a little slow and lost a few times.
6. Lacking cooking pans.
7. The gas grill I will prefer be place outside the kitchen.
In general the cabin is great place and close to the interstate 40.

Good place
The rental was very clean, had plenty of room and was very peaceful. The only issue was checkout was 10am and we were running a few min behind and someone was at the door exactly 10am. I think you should have a little leeway for people running a few min late

Perfect mountain cabin
This mountain cabin was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The rental was immaculately clean, had top quality linens/bedding, fully stocked kitchen, and beautifully decorated. Traveling with 5 kids ranging from 3-8 years, all the extra toys, games, kid-friendly dishes/cups, etc. we’re an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely home, beautiful views, close proximity to attractions
This is a lovely spacious home set on a mountainside overlooking a small valley. The view is beautiful. The house is located about 30 minutes from Smoky Mt. National
Park and 45 minutes from Asheville proper. It’s a 15-20 minute drive into Waynesville for groceries, restaurants, etc. The house has a “basement“ furnished as a bunk room for 3 or 4 children, including indoor play campsite, big screen TV, and bathroom. The main level living room/ kitchen opens onto a large porch overlooking the valley. The home is well maintained and very clean. There is a steep drive up a narrow road to get to the house, but the road is black-topped and in excellent condition. The house is in a gated community with several homes nearby, but the area is heavily wooded and quiet, and we felt very secluded. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Fantastic choice!
This beautiful cabin is everything it promises. The views are gorgeous; the cabin is comfortable, modern, and just downright adorable. Our first full day, we didn't leave the premises, it's so enjoyable just to hang out there. Rocking chairs on the covered porch, a fireplace, cable TV and internet if you must, everything you need in the kitchen. Close enough to Lake Junaluska and Waynesville for easy visits, and don't miss hiking at The Swag. There are games and puzzles to entertain you, spices in the pantry for your meals, and a fire pit in the yard (bring your own firewood). Can't wait to go back.

Perfect
I was looking for a place that family coming from several places for my son's wedding weekend could be centralized in one location comfortably. This cabin was perfect. It was clean. It was comfortable. And the accomodations couldn't have been better. We are already trying to find a reason to come stay here again. Thank you!

FABULOUS PLACE TO VACATION
We chose this house for our family vacation. Upon arriving, my grandchildren ages 5 and 8, discovered the basement equipped with a tent, a table with trains, trucks, etc., and two set of bunk beds. They were in heaven, matter of fact we did not see them till dinnertime.. It rained the whole time, but did not damper our vacation. We bought ponchos and hiked in Pisgah National Forest, visited the Dome, Brevard, Cherokee Museum. We also tried to build a fire and make smores, too wet. We had inside smores. Beautiful house. World highly recommend, especially with children.

Amazing!
Really good place and had a good time. Good amenities and clean. Only issue we had was there was no info about throwing out the trash (closes at 5), would be great if owner could put that somewhere in the future. Overall, great experience and the view was just amazing!

Best family vacay in the mountains!
Beautiful cabin with amazing views and plenty of room for all. There is no detail spared in this cabin and all of the amenities were great. Close to falls, parks and unique shopping. We will be back!

5 STAR CABIN, 10 STAR VIEW
The view alone guarantees a return stay for me. This cabin also has all of the amenities you need for a perfect mountain getaway with family or friends. The cabin is up to date, clean, and affordable! The location is secluded, but only 20ish minutes from Maggie Valley/Waynesville.
***Be prepared for steep, winding mountain roads up to the cabin, but the payoff is 100% worth it.***

Stunning view, beautiful home
This place is extremely spacious and has an incredible view. It's so relaxing to sit on the porch and watch the clouds move across the mountains in the distance. Quite and remote... a perfect place to unplug and truly be away.

Great for Families
We had a great week staying at this property. We had plenty of space and the layout was fantastic for our family group - 6 adults and 2 kids. Very family-friendly cabin and the location was amazing. Beautiful porches and views! Great hiking in the area.

Golf Retreat
Our group of golfers enjoyed staying at the cabin that was easy to access and enough space to enjoy a relaxing afternoon after rounds of golf. The kitchen was fully equipped and den was large enough to keep everyone satisfied. The description of the property was accurate. The location made accessing dinner, golf courses, and breakfast places very manageable.

Ladies trip
Eight of us stayed at Settler’s Ridge and had a wonderful time. The kitchen was well equipped, all beds were very comfortable, and Tim, the property manager was a great help.
I would highly recommend this rental!!

Great place for a family rendezvous in the mountains.
Overall the cabin was very well maintained and ready for our families to live in for a week. We have a few observations, if you're interested:
- Half of the gutter along the roof at the rear of the cabin has fallen off.
- There is an assortment of 'leftover' items from previous guests in the pantry that you might consider discarding.
- There were only two partial rolls of toilet paper rolls in the bathrooms when we arrived--we found more in the garage on day 2; suggest you make a point that guests should use only provided thin TP designed for use with septic tanks (we brought some thicker TP, but didn't use it when we found the thin TP).
- Pots & pans in the kitchen are in bad shape & in need of replacement.
- The queen mattress in the basement bedroom has a serious depression in the middle; suggest replacing it with the queen mattress in the master bedroom and replacing the master bedroom mattress with a new king mattress.
- Two light bulbs over one bathroom sink in the master bath burnt out during our stay; replaced with bulbs in the garage, leaving none.

Awesome vacation!
House is awesome! The pictures don’t do it justice, the view from the porch was great and the house had everything you would ever need. We will definitely be staying here again.

Family vacay
The property was very accommodating. I do wish there were more big pots and pans, as we had a large group to cook for. However, we did make it work with the fully equipped kitchen. We had my family and my boyfriends family staying in the cabin with us and we all had plenty of room! The cabin was very clean and kid friendly. There are plenty of linens and towels provided as well. Really the only thing you need to bring is your clothes. There are also toys provided in the downstairs area for little ones. The views are breathtaking! Not much yard space, mostly just porch space, but that's expected at the top of a mountain, lol. There is a small fire pit that was nice. Our overall experience was a great one with this cabin. It will be saved to our favorites for future rentals!
