A great location. Having the space of a 1 bedroom apartment was excellent. The views from the room were amazing looking over the castle and the sea. Parking in the Church grounds next door was very convenient. Lots of food options within a short walk.
My sandwich was stolen by a giant seagull from out of my hand down by the water. Watch out for them!

Good location with plenty of available parking on street outside - and if not, then the church carpark is very nearby. Lovely view of the sea and castle. Well equipped with easy check-in and soooooo quiet overnight! A good, firm mattress made for a good night's sleep and how nice to have Netflix. Incredible value as compared to hotel rooms locally and you get an entire self-contained studio. We had originally booked this for our son and got ourselves a place advertised as a 'studio apartment' nearby which turned out to be just a small bedroom so swapped with our son to take this place - and glad we did.
The building is a little run-down and as others have said, is furnished and decorated in a pretty basic way but it has everything you would need, is quiet and comfortable and at this price point I'm not sure you can complain.

I had the ground-floor family apartment for a night. It was very comfortable and spacious, perfect for taking my bike inside. Even though it was at street level, it was very quiet. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to visit Aberystwyth, the view of the castle in the morning is wonderful!

we had a great time and will try to go back to Bryn Awel
there was only one plate, which we had to share (there were two of us)
I personally would have liked a toaster

Nice and spacious self contained studio apartment. Fabulous bed that was homemade by the owner. Lots of nice little touches like shower gels and condiments which are handy if you didn't bring your own. Handy little fridge. Great location overlooking the castle with a view of the sea.
It's obvious that the the whole building and rooms are a 'work-in-progress' so if you're expecting a pristine establishment you'll be a little disappointed. There are a couple of issues that I think are easy fixes. I appreciate that the building is close to the sea but it would be nice if the windows could be cleaned outside to improve the view. The tv works, intermittently, on the internet so maybe fit an indoor aerial? The mirror in the bathroom is ledged on the toilet so is useless unless you kneel down. Needs fixing above the sink. The taps in the bathroom have the wrong tops. The 'c' is on the hot tap.

Location, convenience for a young family

Room was big and clean, good value for money considering the great location and kitchen area. Bed nice and comfy, lovely views of the sea and castle grounds.
Shower pressure wasn't the best, and the kitchen was missing a washing up sponge so had to go out and get one, but it wasn't a big deal, still a great stay

Location, comfortable bed
Tired, lacking utensils, no bread knife, no small plates, very eclectic fixtures and fittings. Needs a revamp.

The main reason we booked this apartment was its location and the view.We weren’t disappointed at all.Be able to fall to sleep listening to the waves breaking was a treat.
There was no fridge in the apartment. The living room door was kept open with a chair as it closes itself (old building quirkiness) but maybe a smaller door stopper would be better as we kept walking into this chair.

An old building, bit draughty but it was blowing a bit outside, other wise not too bad.

Easy to find, great instructions (keysafe a bit stiff to open!!) facilities and Brad comfortable! View was beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay!!
Just the keysafe, a little awkward to get In And out of!

Good value for money , parking good, within reach of town. No toaster in the room rang up toaster there the next day, very friendly person on the other end of the phone.
Read previous reviews , nothing wrong with shower and fridge does make a noise, but dont all fridges?
Comfy bed plenty of bedding if cold and an extra oil heater in room if needed.
We stayed in ground floor room with dog and a large crate and still plenty of room.
Nothing to dislike, could do with a washing up bowl and tea towels . Not a large TV, and I forgot my glasses however again that's not a dislike just letting you know, but netflix and catch up all there.

Location was spot on, had everything you need, no fuss, but fantastic base. Bed very comfortable. Had iron and hairdryer. Great views of the sea.
The building is in need of a bit of tlc.. Only 1 towel left for 2 guests.

Excellent communication from owners. Beds comfortable. We were happy to not have to go out to look for toiletries and tea bags
I went to wipe the worktops, the cloth after doing so was BLACk. This caused concern about the general cleanliness. The shower could also have been cleaner

The property was in a great location - very central but not too noisy. The room itself was a little tired-looking but comfortable and cosy with a lot of character and had everything we needed. When I called to make a special request, Louise was very helpful and friendly. I'd happily stay here again.
The room was nice but could do with a little updating. For example, the bathroom could do with an extractor fan and the fridge was rather noisy - I had to turn it off during the night so that I could sleep. However, I think these things are reflected in the cost and it was good value for money overall.

Self catering so no breakfast. Location was good, very close to castle and seafront. The building is old and historic and rather tired but the room was cosy and comfortable with kind touches as the owner left tea and coffee and bathroom materials. It was perfect for travelling with a dog and a child.
We felt that for the price the room was great. It is not a modern accommodation and a little mismatched but perfect for us.

The room was very spacious. Beautiful decor, the view was amazing of the ocean and caught the sunset really nicely. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was brilliant as well. Although there was no allocated parking, I didn't struggle to park outside.
nothing it was fab.

Big room, King sized bed, microwave, kettle, cutlery and crockery. Loads of toiletries, plenty of lovely messages, but never met any staff. Extra bedding, big towels a bonus.
Must admit my heart sank when I walked in. This is a period property, with history! First appearances were deceptive. Difficult to park car close by, as roads full. Parked in sea front and walked up, not too far at all.

A fully contained small apartment with everything you need for a short stay. Very clean and warm. Bed and towels were spotless. Great communication with host. Great location overlooking the castle and the sea.
Entrance hall looked a little shabby could do either a lick of paint, otherwise everything was great.
