The opportunity to stay in the middle of the wonderful Tarangire NP is really a privilege. The camp has been designed with both comfort and closeness to nature in mind. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the communal spaces are designed to make best use of the wonderful location. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming, and we enjoyed discussing the wildlife with them around the campfire. And to wake up with an elephant really just a few metres from the tent was unforgettable.
Nothing - it was perfect

A cosy place in the middle of the park. Excellent location! Very friendly and helpful staff. Danny, the manager agreed to guide our evening game drive.
There was no hot water left to shower in the evening or morning.

Second time visited Baobab tented camp. I should return at least one more time here! )
Lovely staff, splendid location, tasty meal! You can start a safari just leaving your tent )
wifi was only available near the front desk, but it was not a big problem.

All the comfort in the middle of the savannah. Very beautiful setting, pretty tents with a very safari atmosphere. The food (dinner, breakfast and lunchbox) was really delicious. Being in the park early in the morning allowed us to see a family of about 15 lions on our way out, it was amazing.
Too bad the drinks are not included for that price. The campfire went out before we finished dinner around 7:30 p.m., so after that we had nothing to do but go to bed. Finally, like all other accommodation in the region with a minimum of standard, it is far too expensive. It was very good overall, but it does not deserve such a price.

A lovely tented camp in the middle of nature! Well appointed tents with all the comforts, the staff were welcoming and paid attention to detail to make our stay very memorable. Romantic lunch set up in the bush, welcoming drinks, good service.
It is quite a long drive from the main gate and not easy to find if self driving. Google
maps was not helpful ;) but the other operators knew the location and gave us directions. Also, the tents were beautiful with comfortable beds but I would have preferred white linens and not brown. Personal preference, but brown sheets can be off- putting!

We got stuck in the mud, along with two other cars, on our way to the camp and had to wait three hours for a tractor to come pull us out. So we arrived at Baobab Tented Camp around 9pm at night, in the dark and well after check-in. Nevertheless we were greeted with concern, friendly smiles and a hot dinner! Our first experience of the camp and it's staff sums up our entire stay there: The staff are very welcoming and go above and beyond, the tents are spacious, comfortable, clean and hit the perfect balance between luxury and practicality. We cannot recommend this place highly enough, it was the perfect accommodation for our safari adventure.

Magical place in Tarangire. We saw Elephants from 20 meters from the camp and could hear the lions roar at night. An amazing experience for our two kids age 4 and 8. The staff were really attentive and made sure our kids had the best time!
It could have been more clear in the Tarangire-entrance fee is not included ind the price.

Located inside Tarangire National Park it is the perfect place to base your safaris out of. The tents are very well & nicely furnished with private bathroom & hot water. We had giraffes & elephants near our tent! The dining area is situated on a wooden platform in the middle of the camp & offers a nice view into the surrounding bush. The food was good & the staff was super friendly & helpful. We even go our own private table next to the fire, as we were travelling on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay and can 100% recommend Baobab camp to anybody!

The place was amazing! located perfectly in the middle of Tarangire national park, so you can see the animals first thing when you wake up in the morning, and watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise in the middle of the savanna.
The staff was so warm and welcoming, made sure to help with every possible thing. The food was excellent, we enjoyed it very much!
The room was so clean and comfortable, we had very hot water for shower at night.
It is just the perfect place to go in the middle of your safari trip, and we most definitely would love to go back!
everything was just perfect.

the staff at baobab tented camp are delightful.
they looked after us so, so well. the camp is
beautiful. the tents are incredibly comfortable and
luxurious. the food is exceptional and the lunch
boxes are very good. the camp is deep in the
tarangire park which means it’s off the beaten track-
this is a bonus. we saw elephants while eating
dinner - this was unexpected and amazing.
thank you so so much for a truly memorable
stay in a very special location. we saw many
elephants, zebra, giraffe, dik dik & on our final
morning a pride of lions which had killed a zebra.
amazing. unbeatable.
it’s not a criticism but you do need to organise your
own guide and driver (this can be done via their office
in Arusha but slightly more expensive than what we
found elsewhere).

Boabab tented camp is off the main road and right in the middle of the game area. Zebras came up into our camp at night and we heard various sounds at night. Accommodations were very comfortable, but the cloudiness during the day meant that we didn't have much hot water. Staff was great. Meals were excellent, which was great coming in after a day driving around.
Nothing to complain about from us!

Amazing place surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife. The staff was very kind and helpful and the food was amazing. We generally enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend it!
At night there were a lot of flies in the area. This is of course difficult to avoid when staying in wild nature, but it made it a little less comfortable being outside in the evening or early morning

Nothing
The attitude of the booking staff. I understand last minute cancellations are charged but I just wanted to upgrade to a twin room. I was asked to pay for a whole new room even though there is the option online to book an extra bed. Isabella was not understanding or accommidating at any point.

The attitude of the booking staff. See para below from review of first room booked. Having paid for 2 rooms just to accommodate a 2nd bed I had a personal emergency and couldnt stay at all. I wasn't after a full refund for the cost of 2 bookings, but maybe just a token gesture of a little refund. Isabella was curt and totally unemotional. The rest of my stay in Tanzania encountered wonderful people. I would recommend soending your money somewhere else where they are more friendly and lovely staff who cannot do enough to help you.

In the bush, can see the local elephants, excellent staff, chef catered to us personally! On a game drive the moment we get in the vehicle!
cool shower in the morning…it’s a bush camp, running off solar power. Lovely hot shower in the afternoon after a dusty safari!

The place is a camp in the middle of the forest and the reserve. We rented the family tent, which is designed to the highest standards and includes 4 large beds and 2 bathrooms. The man was clean and superb. We had a couple of ahml nights where you can see the woods in nature and I saw the elephant near the tent about 10 meters away. The crew is very helpful, especially (the employee Jumaa) the food service was excellent and when you go out on a full-day safari, the food is prepared for you and taken with you. On the safari trip, we had a driver from another company, who is excellent and has great experience as well. Thank you all .

Beautiful setting and could hear the lions when we woke up. Delicious food - acommodated well to having a vegetarian. Good packed lunch for the day too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Spacious tents with lots of facilities, even hot water! Great communication from the point of booking onwards.
Not very well signposted so rather hard to find- a really long way from the main gate (2 hours drive) and as it rained overnight and the road isn't great, we had real issues getting back to the main road the next morning. A fan would have been appreciated as it was very hot when we went to sleep, and we didn't expect to have to pay for the two soft drinks we had with dinner, not after the overall cost of the stay.

right in the middle of the nature, elephants walking thru the camp and eating grass right beside our tent in the night. Good food and well equipped bar, everything was very clean and nice on the tent. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

All staff were nice very helpful and friendly.Juma, Bruno, Emanuel, Simon and Amani made our holiday brilliant.
We liked the elephants, which where coming near by the restaurant and our tent :).
We enjoyed this quiet atmosphere in and around the tent.
I liked the birthday party with all staffs very much :).
We didn’t like the tsetse flys. But is not to change because nobody is responsible for them :).

Chance to meet elephants next to your tent!!! quiet place, possibility for easy star gazing, very friendly staff, good meal and drinks, tents are spacious and well equipped, comfort close to the nature :)
4WD car required to reach camp. road might be bumpy on the last leg (do not relay on the google maps :) )

The location is fantastic. In the middle of the bush, between beautiful baobab trees. Wild animals around you: I've seen zebras, wildebeest and elephants while sitting in my tent (literally).
The staff is very nice and helpful. When I stupidly hurt myself, they were immediately there to help me with disinfectant and bandages.
The Tarangire National Park is also very nice. The baobabs are amazing, you can do beautiful game drives and are almost guaranteed to see lots of animals. I also did a guided walk with a ranger from the park.
It's not easy to find. Google Maps and the maps from Tracks4Africa were basically useless here. The only map software that really covered the area very well was MAPS.ME, which I downloaded for Android.
If you don't have a decent map, look for the signposts for Kanga Special Campsite (which is basically the same location as Baobab Tented Camp).
Also note that the entrance fee for Tarangire NP is pretty high nowadays (something like 130 USD/night, IIRC). The camp is inside the park, so you'll need to add that to your expenses for each night.

Amazing place in the middle of Tarangire national park. When we arrived a huge elephant was drinking water from the watertank, just next to the tents :) Very comfortable, could be said premium tents. Good food and super friendly staff. True savannah experience!
Not sure this is a real negative, but it is super difficult to find it. Signs are missing on the way. If your driver doesn't know where is it it will have difficulties for sure. Can't even imagine that you are driving on your own. It is very far from the main gate. The good thing is, that leaving in the morning for the game drive, you will be alone!
