We enjoyed our stay in this charming cabin and would stay again.

This is a very quaint and comfortable cabin located close to downtown Highlands. 5 stars. AC worked well. Nicely decorated. TV/Internet worked well. This is not a critique, but the only downside would be the kitchen is small and there is no dishwasher. Very basic in terms of cooking potential. Everything else is great and we look forward to renting again!

Everything was as listed and the area was super - was able to walk down to the lake to go canoeing and we walked into town several times - we like to walk and hike, so walking into town was an adventure itself. We used the fire place and it worked fabulously.

Cabin was spotlessly clean and had the MOST comfortable furniture. The front porch is a haven. There are multiple outdoor sitting areas, including a fire pit on the side of the house not pictured on VRBO, which we enjoyed. There are string lights in the outdoor areas, which makes for a cool atmosphere at night and helps you get around in the dark. The property was big enough to keep my 12-year-old son busy, but close enough that I didn’t worry. The creek pavilion is really amazing, I wish we had gotten to enjoy it more, but it was a short trip. There’s a heater there which we didn’t even turn on, but would make for a nice nighttime hangout spot. There are also two fire pits in this area, right next to the creek. The creek itself was small but beautiful, trickling over rocks. No “swimming hole”, but it would be fun to play in in the summer. The house is in a neighborhood, and while we were aware that others were around, we barely heard any cars and never heard a human voice. It was very peaceful. Beds were very comfy. No barking dogs to wake us up in the morning, which has been an annoyance for us at many other mountain rentals. Highlands is the cutest little town with many amenities, and is very quick and easy to access from the cabin. This is a very convenient location for exploring the area, which is beautiful and rife with waterfalls! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin! Perfectly decorated and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. It was secluded, but so close to town and several hiking/waterfall spots. For a pet friendly house, it was exceptionally clean. Our Huckleberry, enjoyed running around the large property.

Perfect Old school cabin
We loved our stay here! We were in town for business and we opted for a cabin instead of hotel - best decision we made. You can tell the owners love this place - meaningful touches everywhere. The bathroom towels were luxe and the kitchen stocked well!
Hope we can return one day.

Relaxation ideal for a family!
I took my family of four to spend a couple of nights in the cabin. We were looking for a nice getaway where we could distance ourselves from others and enjoy time together. Every detail is attended to within the cabin, and it’s a wonderful mixture of modern and rustic. We were able to easily get to downtown Highlands, hike and explore waterfalls. The property also has hidden gems in the backyard: treehouse with swing and a covered loft/marina with ample seating where you can lounge and enjoy the natural beauty and the sound of water.

We Loved Moonshine Creek Cabin
Moonshine Creek Cabin was very warm, welcoming and cozy. It is the perfect mountain cabin for a quiet get-away. Whether sitting in the well decorated living area, sitting on the very quaint, comfortable porch, shopping in the incredible shops of Highlands, eating wonderful food in some of the many restaurant choices, or hiking and exploring the many beautiful nearby trails and waterfalls, there is something for everyone in this perfect VRBO destination! Loved our time here!

Highlands bliss
This is our third visitTo this lovely cabin nestled in a rhododendron garden. Decorated so nicely, this is definitely the place to come and unwind. A large fireplace, comfortable furniture and other amenities make it difficult to leave the cabin and grounds. However, when you do, the main town is less than five minutes away. We love it here. M&H👍👍👍👍👍

Charming 1948 Cabin beautifully restored
The owners of this cabin have done a masterful job in creating a comfortable, spotless, and charming retreat. We loved the family room with its large fireplace and comfortable furniture, the front porch, and the creekside pavilion with fire pits. Everything could not have been more wonderful! We found ourselves cutting short shopping and hiking in order to come back to the cabin to enjoy it more. Thank you for an excellent vacation!

Great cabin for a quick getaway
Cabin was charming and just as described. Our 2 boys ( 5 & 8) loved exploring the property, finding surprises and treasures all around. We barely had to leave, but did enjoy fishing and a canoe ride on Mirror Lake. Cabin was comfortable, clean, charming and had everything we needed. Hope to go back again sometime!

AN ABSOLUTELY *PERFECT, COZY* GET-AWAY SPOT!!!
Fancy = no. COZY = YES, YES, YES!!! We sooo loved this rustic but adorable cabin & property in the woods. We felt nestled away, but close enough to the charming town of Highlands (with fabulous shops & restaurants) - about a 10 min. ride through winding, wooded neighborhoods. We were ***especially*** impressed with how responsive the owners were when we had a few questions, before and after our stay. There are *so* many special touches to this property: the cozy front porch complete with porch swing and comfy chairs; the gazebo by the creek; the tree house for kids; the canoe on Mirror Lake; *and* the charming little walking trails behind the house. There are tons of things to do in this area - we especially loved our 3-hour "Highlands Excursion" guided open-jeep tour on our first day - to help acclimate us to the area, as well as our zip lining at Highlands Aerial Park!! We totally hope to return one day - and will definitely stay in this charming property, when/if we do so! We HIGHLY recommend it!

Perfect Getaway!
My husband & I had a wonderful time at this charming property! It had the "Old Highlands Charm" that I usually avoid but since it had been remodeled I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did because it was beautifully updated & very comfortable. We loved the location. It was close to town but very quiet. We were thrilled that our favorite restaurant, On The Veranda, was so close!
We enjoyed the cabin but one of the main attractions for us was the 2 acres of forest & trails & the nicely flowing creek. The pavilion on the creek was a great place to relax & enjoy nature. It looked too good to be true but was even better than described. You can tell that this property is loved & taken care of. I especially enjoyed the small details... garden art, swings. beautiful moss covered rocks, wild mushrooms & even hidden gnomes.
The cabin was well appointed, comfortable & had been cleaned to perfection (& I'm very picky). It had so many special touches. We loved the beautiful porch. The owners were great! Very fast response time with emails & phone calls.
The icing on the cake was that we were able to bring our Goldendoodles, Pearl & Honey. They love the mountains! Thank you Angela & Casey for sharing your beautiful property with us!
