About this cabin rental

Hi! We're new to VRBO. Lucky you! We are now offering our wonderful family cabin to the world and we hope you'll book a stay. See our personal/private rental reviews at the end of the property description.

**Note that we do not "INSTANT BOOK" as we manage this property from a few hours away with the help of a local housekeeper. We want to ensure that it is top-notch and ready for you before your stay and need to confirm readiness before booking your reservation. Not to fear...We make every effort to quickly respond to your request and accommodate your dates if we are able.

Set in the lush, tree-top woods just above the quaint town of Highlands, North Carolina, Satulah Ridge is the quintessential "cozy log cabin". Snuggle in for a fall or winter day with a crackling fire (we provide the firewood :) and a Netflix binge or take in a summer mountain breeze and bird symphony on the screened porch. Don't forget your book and a cool beverage! No matter the time of year, Highlands, NC is a great getaway, made even more special with a well-appointed and comfortable place to relax and unwind.

The cabin is a short (and safe) 10-minute walk to town, just past and above Harris Lake (an easy walk to Harris Lake, Sunset Rock, The Highlands Biological Station, Mountain Fresh and all of downtown Highlands). Want to drive down?...it's just 2 minutes! Your hosts have taken every effort to provide a "home away from home" with all the necessities you may need for a weekend respite or an extended stay. The kitchen is stocked for cooking (pot of chili anyone?!), catch up on deep sleep in the cozy beds with comfy linens, lots of towels & toiletries + added perks of staple goods for cooking, various waters, beverages, coffee, and bar accouterments. The living room sofa pulls out making the perfect "pit" to take in movies or sports if you're staying in.

Whether it's shopping or dining in town or an excursion to one of the many hikes or waterfalls in the area, the cabin is conveniently located close to everything Highlands! Come home from an active day and step into the cozy hug of an authentic cabin. We look forward to hosting you!

I stayed here for a girls trip to celebrate my birthday and we all enjoyed this cute, comfortable cabin. I picked this cabin for its location close to main street Highlands and for the screened in porch. The porch is so relaxing and a great place to hangout, eat, play games, or read. The living room and bedrooms in the cabin have very comfortable furniture. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook with and there were even fancy cocktail glasses. The host has lots of nice little extras in the bathrooms- loved the magic washcloths, the soap/shampoo in bathrooms, sponges and dish towels in the kitchen. Kendra was a great host, excellent communication/instructions, and quick replies back to all my questions. Only minor issue we had was with the shower in the hallway- it had a slow drain and the shower curtain blows in on you (sticks to you) while you are showering which was super annoying. The cabin location is great for driving into Main Street Highlands but it is not really practical to walk into town for dinner/at night. It is a mile drive down to Main Street and very steep, curvy mountain road that I would not want to walk back up in the dark. It was fine to walk up/down the road from the cabin during the daytime though. I would recommend this cabin to any friends or family staying in Highlands.

The home and property were even more lovely than pictured. The linens, decor and finishes were both elegant and welcoming. The house was well stocked with all of the essentials plus some unexpected treats. The home was very comfortable and in a picturesque setting. Would love the opportunity to visit again.

This property was perfect. We had 2 couples and we had plenty of space. The cabin was equipped with everything you could possibly need and was so cozy and comfortable. It was within such a short driving distance to downtown and was just the perfect place for us to stay! Would definitely stay here again!

The owners of this cabin are very giving, accessible, diligent, creative, and conscientious enough to be invisible if you don’t have a problem. Giving because they have stocked everything you could possibly need. Accessible because you can send a question in the VRBO app, and get a quick response. Diligent because it takes a lot of work to provide a comfortable cabin in the woods near a place like Highlands. Creative because the colors and decorations are restful earth tones and planned to accommodate readers. Conscience because they know you came there to relax and not visit with the owners. My only regret is that we took 2 day trips to visit things we had already seen (Blue Ridge Pky and Mountain Rest SC) when we should have spent the whole time at the cabin and eating at the restaurants in Highlands. But, do bite the bullet, and make reservations for the good restaurants because they are necessary. Also if you are young, which we are not, do walk to town and back up Satulah Ridge Road. There was a time when we could have done that. We would enjoy a return visit.
