Very cozy and charming . The room was wonderful and the Innkeeper Camille did a wonderful job preparing our room for my wife’s birthday with roses and champagne. The breakfast was terrific and everyone from the cooking to the housekeeping staff were helpful and very hospitable. After a snowfall in Woodstock the area was perfect for a Vermont getaway! Everything was done very well- superb!

What a lovely place to spend a few days decompressing!
Let me give you — reasons why this should be your next travel experience.
1. It is elegant without being stuffy. Everywhere you turn, you see little touches, thoughtful touches, that remind you that the owners know the business and know, exquisitely, how to care for their guests.
2. Breakfasts are sensational. They are tasty, unusual, and beautiful. And they are served in a dining room that oversees beautiful grounds.
3. The grounds are breathtaking. Everywhere you look, there are flowers and bushes and gardens, professionally attended to. It takes a good half hour to mosey around the four acres that comprise this elegant estate.
4. While you are out and about on the grounds, there are all kinds of places to sit. In the shade, in the sun. Grouped with multiple chairs. With solo or pairs of seats. Our favorite thing to do was to cross a bridge over a creek that runs through the property, and sit in the shade of a tree next to a small pond on the property. Such serenity. The quiet is punctuated by an occasional rooster from a nearby property.
5. While you are in the building there are lots of places to sit and read or quietly converse. There are at least three rooms devoted to this purpose. One is a library. All have elegant, but comfortable chairs.
6. The bed in our room was a study in luxury. I am 5’11”, and the top of the mattress was above my belly. It was a little awkward to ascend into (my wife’s side has a step stool), but well worth the effort. The bed is ultra comfortable.
7. The staff was personable, and made it clear that they would do anything reasonable to please their guests.
8. You know how country inns sometimes have a long covered porch and multiple easy chairs. This one does as well.
9. The avian life of the property is rich. Sitting in the dining room, it was a joy to watch dozens of birds flitting about the property, moving amongst the trees and vegetation.
All good.

Great breakfast, was prepared by the owner/chef and it was different every day we were there. The location was right outside of town, a 5-minute drive to town, and well worth the trip, Cant wait to go back to see what else Woodstock has to offer, 👍

The property is very nicely decorated with a rich taste - but that is not the most important in my opinion.
The Jackson house Inn lacks the coziness you would expect in an Inn of that scale. The Innkeepers are profesional but not very welcoming, I would say condescending. We felt a bit uncomfortable in there and couldn’t wait to check out. The breakfast is overrated for what it actually is.
There is Art pieces and valuable furniture all over the Inn, but yet they have a sign that says “do not pocket our teas”, we have the impression that the people who decorated the Inn are not the same who put that sign there !!

I loved that it was close to downtown and offered everything we were looking for. It totally exceeded our expectations in so many ways, as the communication and fulfillment of our wishes were met and beyond.

Nothing

Breakfast was interesting but we prefer to be able to chose what we eat
Poor or no cell phone access

The house is beautiful with plenty of common areas for us to relax. The breakfast was amazing. The location was also perfect. We were close to everything we wanted to do there.
It does have a more formal vibe so although I thought everyone was nice, it wasn’t quaint like a smaller B&B.
4.7
location. Grounds were beautiful, delicious breakfast.
The bed was very uncomfortable, had a large lump running down the middle.
4.7
Beautifully decorated house , very clean and great base for exploring Vermont
No boiled water available- just ' hot' water in a thermos jug.
4.7
well appointed & comfortable rooms
location good, grounds beautiful
the homemade cookies!
would have preferred to have breakfast choices
whilst the quality was excellent it was not to our taste
4.7
beautiful inn inside and out. the entire grounds are wonderful. staff attentive and welcoming. breakfast incredible
4.7
The Inn is lovely and well cared for, and there were some nice little touches like fresh baked cookies left out in the tea room one night. The grounds are beautiful.
Breakfast took a really long time each morning, and we had to arrive at a set time rather than a window of time which was a bit restrictive. So if you like to get up and go in the morning, take this into account.

This room was exceptional with a wonderful shower, very comfortable bed, and beautiful view outside the doors to the back garden. The managers Robin and Chef Jeff were a pleasure to talk with very interesting backgrounds. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. Met some very interesting fellow guests which was a added treat to our stay.
Nothing.

Breakfast was very fresh, with appropriate portions. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Every thing was well done!

Delicious home cooked breakfast, beautiful presentation. Delightful dining room. Very relaxed atmosphere

Breakfast was excellent and so satisfying; it was a 3 course breakfast during our stay, the kindest staff, the hostess and the chef always attentive and inviting. Myself and my daughter wanted to take some of our left over breakfast on the road with us when checking out and the chef made additional, 2 extra, fresh and hot breakfast servings to take with us. The kindest people who take care of the Inn and everyone who visits. I recommend the beautiful, historical and a home like feeling experience that myself and my daughter had during the last 4th of July weekend! The hostess and the concierge are helpful and pleasant with accommodations!! Thank you all for making it such a pleasant experience for us.
The location is great, just a short drive to Woodstock Village, there is a farmer's market on the way and a snack bar right over a nice stream where people can stop and enjoy the nature.

Everything!!!!! the room is beautiful!!!! Very pleasant and nice host!!!The breakfast is exceptional. The chef is gifted.
4.7
The location. The staff was pleasant, professional and attentive to our needs. There were several rooms accessible on the ground floor of the Inn where we could read and have tea or drink. The garden was magnificent and very well maintained.
Noise travelled between bedrooms. Beds were a bit too narrow for two people.

Everything at the Jackson House Inn was beautiful! the breakfast was delicious and presentation was beautiful! I loved the outdoor gardens and enjoyed a cup of tea by the pond. the evening bar was perfect to relax and unwind! thank you Robin and Jeffrey for your kindness and welcoming hospitality!!
4.7
Very convenient yet peaceful location. Rooms were furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard which reflected excellent taste and vision for traditional style. An absolute gem. Breakfasts were imaginative, ample and superior to expected hotel fare. The innkeepers were helpful and proactive in satisfying guests’ needs. Jackson House sets the standard to which other establishments should strive to attain
I could not envisage any areas needing improvement

So many elegant touches - from the Frette linens and robes, to the delicious breakfast with the homemade strawberry pastry and eggs. Very personalized service and everything smelled so good, like lemon oil and wood soap. I was even treated to some pet therapy when I got to spend time with Lilith, the owner's cat. It was an amazing experience and I will definitely recommend and return.

Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Inn using it as our home base, The Jackson Inn, its staff and grounds are the perfect place to start from. If you like to feel at home and are into having a place that is your inner character, The Jackson Inn is the place.
4.7
the inn is beautifully maintained
some interior work was being done in some downstairs rooms that were next to our room . the workers started before 7am on one of the mornings we stayed - on the ceiling - we were woken up much earlier than we would have preferred.
4.7
The mixed style of original with modern facilities. Absolutely loved how you can appreciate how the house looked some 130 years ago while also being able to have a spa bathtub after a long day of traveling.
At no fault of theirs, due to COVID protocols, they were not allowed to enter or clean our room during our stay. Nevertheless, they supplied as much clean linen as requested.
4.7
Charming historic home on the outskirts of Woodstock. Maintained to the highest of professional standards with a keen eye for details and ensuring that everything is in its place. A great deal of effort and pride has gone into the property.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike.
