About this house rental
Perfectly renovated and flawlessly decorated, the Heiser Haus is one of two 1920s “twin” homes that were moved from their original Fredericksburg locations. This gorgeous home has an abundance of historic charm along with all the comfort, elegance and convenience you need.
When you drive up to Heiser Haus, you can't help but feel greeted by it's cheerful blue exterior and bold orange door. Once inside, you'll feel right at home with hard wood floors throughout and comfortable yet luxurious furnishings. Two large cream sofas are both situated perfectly to enjoy the flat screen TV or electric fireplace. A cozy set of stairs leads you up to the Master Suite where you'll find a locally hand forged King size bed with well-appointed linens. The en suite bath has both a soaking tub and a walk-in shower and is played up with a crystal chandelier and sconces. The downstairs King sized bedroom and bath are equally magnificent, so no need to argue over which couple gets which suite.
Because we know you'll never want to leave this cozy haven to eat, there is also a fully equipped, modern farm house style kitchen with seating for four. Through the kitchen, you can access your own private backyard where you and your friends can sit and visit around the firepit and each have your own relaxing Adirondack chair.
In case you would like to venture out and experience everything Fredericksburg has to offer, Heiser Haus is just a short walk to Main St by way of a foot bridge that's accessible from the park across the street.

Had a great time at this property. Every detail was considered including blankets for lounging on the couch, comfortable linens, fluffy towels (and a lot of them), and a fully equipped kitchen. The decor was very charming and perfect for a weekend in the Texas Wine Country. The property owners said they have been working on making the house comfortable in terms of temperature and you can see the evidence of that. It’s difficult to do in an older home that was built before central AC existed. During the 100 degree summer temps, we had all the AC units and dehumidifiers going. We noticed some temp differences where some rooms were a lot warmer than others, but again, you can tell that there have been investments in this area. As far as location goes, we were within walking distance to the town’s Main Street in a quiet neighborhood, across from a park. The Main Street is long, so be aware you’ll be on the end closer to Hondo’s. I actually like that area a lot, but some people like to be on the other end. We come to Fredericksburg several times a year, and I would definitely visit the property again and any of the other properties run by the property owner.

Beautiful house and a wonderful experience!

The house was cute and clean. Private driveway. It was easy to pick up and leave the key. It was about a 10 minute walk to main. The stairs to the second bedroom could be a little tricky to navigate if you’re tall, but I’m 5’6” so I only had to duck a little. The floor in the downstairs bedroom is a little slippery so be careful if you wear socks to bed and have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. We couldn’t get the tv to work. We did call the owner, who was very sweet and more than happy to help, but we really didn’t need it because we spent so much time downtown, by the time we got home all we really wanted to do was go to bed, so we were really only in the house to sleep. Overall, I’d book again.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little house near the Main St In Fredericksburg. Everything was easy to get to in town. The house was just right for 3 people (or even 4). The stairs were a little challenging because they are steep and narrow. But otherwise everything was comfortable and our stay was excellent.

Great location and the property was very well decorated and supplied with very comfortable beds. Only challenge was access to the upstairs bedroom, the stairs were extremely steep. The house was a bit musty until the dehumidifiers ran for a while.

The home was very nice. Exactly as pictured, beds were very comfortable, heater was a little tricky but the owners were super helpful and nice. There is a small park with a creek the street for walks. I highly recommend it

It was festively decorated for the holiday
The house was clean and it was apparent the host attended to details to make guests feel more comfortable
Neighborhood was quiet
We would definitely stay again

We overall loved the home and would stay again. I would just warn people that the 2nd floor addition while roomy and darling requires traversing stairs that are a bit shallow compared to most feet snd have a sharp turn with low headroom. I’m only 5-6 and wear a size 8 shoe and I had a difficult time on the stairs. I couldn’t stay upstairs for that reason but the downstairs bedroom was great. While the room was on the small side it had a king sized bed which most would appreciate. My favorite part of the house was its proximity to a wooded area where deer lived and we had morning and evening visits from them daily. This home although updated throughout had tasteful vintage decor. Both baths had deep soaker tubs and upstairs had a beautiful large tiled separate shower. The kitchen was well equipped whether you only wanted to heat in the microwave and make coffee or planned to cook a full meal. Counter space was limited though so I personally wouldn’t plan to do much cooking. The host provided extras in the kitchen though like breakfast bars, coffee and flavored creamers. Fredericksburg’s tourism industry has grown much since our last visit 8 years ago so the downtown streets were crowded from about 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. but filled with lots of shops and wine tasting rooms. It reminded me of New Orleans on a smaller scale minus the strip clubs. I doubt we’ll return because it has become too commercialized for our taste.

Property real close walking distance to Main Street (Crossroads Saloon and Steakhouse, Hondos area) which was very nice. Upstairs room does have narrow steps and low ceilings. Valuable information for tall folks. :-)
Overall a great location and cute house.

The house was beautifully decorated and was comfortable and extremely private! Wonderfully decorated, and the layout was perfect for two couples. Be careful the stairway can get a little tricky, especially for a tall person, but upstairs was modern and the beds were extremely comfortable. Great nights sleep after a hard day at the wineries! Well appointed overall and the location to downtown allowed for an easy walk up the hill to Main St and several restaurant options. Lovely property, can’t wait to return.

Everything was very good and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely go back. But part of our group are light sleepers. The neighbors young rooster started crowing around 3:30 each morning.

Came into town for a last minute concert. Host willing to do one night rental few days prior to weekend. Accommodations were perfect. Well stocked, decorated for Christmas and even had treats in stockings for guests. Stated numerous times that would “bookmark” this rental and plan to be back.

This property sits not far from Main Street which made our short stay so accommodating. The old farm house decor is so cute!

This house was amazing for two couples. Short walk to Main Street and very private cozy setting! Two master suits made it even better for each couple to have their own space. This was our first trip and we will be back. Highly recommend this property!

From the moment upon arrival, we were grinning from ear to ear. Such a lovely home and very close to all the shops. Definitely will book this home for our annual trip.

What a beautifully decorated house so close to town. Most homes have double beds but this one had 2 king beds. That was such a plus. We will stay here again. I think Joanna Gaines stayed here.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Heiser Haus. The property owner had everything that one would need on their trip away from home. They thought of everything, down to the sewing and first aid kits. The home is beautiful. It was relaxing, the perfect home away from home.

The house was very nicely furnished, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The Christmas tree and decorations were an added touch of festivity. We also appreciated the breakfast coupons which allowed us to try out a couple of local restaurants we might not have otherwise. The only reason we didn't give Heiser Haus a “5” rating was because of the pungent musty smell downstairs. It was less noticeable upstairs, and there were dehumidifiers on both floors to help minimize the odor, but it was still significant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will certainly use Gastehaus Schmidt when booking our next stay In Fredericksburg. They were delightful in assisting us with check-in and check-out procedures. Thank you to their staff!!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had a very nice weekend in Fredericksburg and thoroughly enjoyed the Heiser Haus. Close proximity of downtown and plenty of room for 2 couples.

The house was super cute. There was a light bulb out in the bedroom down stairs and the shower handle was coming off. Also, the bed was AWFUL! It was hard and lumpy! It is way past its prime. The upstairs bedroom has a low chandelier that you walk into all the time. Huge hazard. We did enjoy our stay except for the lack of sleep :(

Heiser Haus was just perfect. Great for couples to share space & still have privacy. The home is quaint, the beds are comfy, and we will be back!

1st time we have used your agency and were very pleased. I wasn't sure what to expect. The breakfast coupons were an added bonus along with the water and soda in fridge along with the coffee and granola bars. The house was beautifully decorated for fall and really added an extra touch. Made us feel at home. I recommended your company to people we met in wineries we visited. Checkout was excellent.

Christmas vacation
This cozy little college was a perfect place for a little Christmas respite for my family. The location is just close enough to town for an easy walk for morning coffee, but just far enough to leave the noise and crowds. The bedding was super comfy, the upstairs bedroom allowed for perfect privacy, and the Christmas ambience was top-notch! I'll definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful Stay
Heiser Haus is a lovely home with all the amenities for a relaxing time. Having two king suites was perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed sitting under the stars with a fire in the firepit. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Thank you so much for a wonderful mini-vacation; we shall return!

Best Ever Airbnb Experience
My wife & I just got back from spending four days with our friends at the Heiser Haus in Fredericksburg, Texas. We all agreed it was the best Airbnb we have ever rented. Not only was it the most charming house we've ever seen, but the most well appointed property we have ever stayed at. We have definitely found our home away from home in Fredericksburg.
