About this house rental
Within 6 blocks of Main Street, this charming 1920's Basse block cottage is a gem in a quiet residential neighborhood. Forget Me Not was purchased by new owners in 2014 and they have made amazing changes to an already wonderful home. The house has been professionally decorated and is not only perfect, but fun to see all of the great “finds” they used. Each time you go into a room something different will appear.
The Parisian inspired kitchen is a subtle taupe with pristine white trim. Fully equipped for your cooking needs, the kitchen offers convenience accompanied by inventive style. If you love to cook this will be a wonderful kitchen during your stay. A table for six is perfect for this room and the “perfect” antique chandelier hangs over it. An open hutch showcases an antique collection of plates. In the front of the house is an elegant spacious yet comfy living room with a great sofa and two floral chairs. All are placed to enjoy the large flat screen television with DVD player. There is also a small white loveseat in the corner which adds an area for visiting or just relaxing.
Two bedrooms are found in the front of the house and both have queen beds with private baths. The first bedroom has a queen bed with white coverlet and accents of black and gray. Enjoy the large antique curio cabinet with so many wonderful fun and interesting finds. An attached bath with soaking tub and overhead shower is found adjacent to the bedroom. The second bedroom has a bath across the hall and has a spacious tiled large shower. Both bedrooms have flat screen cable televisions. The bed has a white tufted cover with accents of sea green and orange. A double glass patio door leads out to the future patio.
The master bedroom in the back of the house has an exquisite king bed topped with earth colors of beige and green. The bed and a loveseat are placed to enjoy the flat screen television. This room is very private and comes complete with it's own private small living room and patio. The attached bathroom has a large tiled and glassed shower. The master bedroom has an individual heating/air conditioning unit. This is one room you won't want to leave!!

Incredible place! The attention to details, not just those adding to the atmosphere but practical ones as well, was astounding. The amount of thought and work put into it was awesome. Three bedrooms, each with their own bath and patio with tables, chairs, and privacy. In addition common den, porch, and fire pit with room for six. Still having a price roughly equivalent with much smaller rentals. Far and away the best value and most relaxing of the seven or eight places I have stayed at in Fredericksburg. We needed it too as it rained the whole time we were in town. Thankfully this place had everything. Great job.

I stayed for a long weekend with my daughter. The house was prettier than the pictures portrayed and was absolutely perfect for our weekend. We walked to town two mornings to get coffee at a lovely coffee shop called RockHause, which I highly recommend. This is the perfect house for a family get away, a romantic weekend, or a girls trip.

This home was perfect and it felt like home the minute we stepped inside. The space is great for 3 couples with a bed and a full bathroom for each. A beautiful spacious place
The house was so charming and big. There are 3 patios; one with a fire pit. We went on a girl's trip with 5 ladies. Three bedrooms and three baths was enough space for us. We walked to everything in town. The management company left us a delicious, large pastry for dessert/breakfast. The house has everything you need to be comfortable. The beds are very comfortable.

We had a girls weekend and stayed at Forget me Not. Such a beautiful home with everything you need! We only had four in our party, but it could easily accommodate more. The whole place was immaculate and had the warmest feel. Beautifully decorated and there are actually three different patios in the back you can sit outside, each having their own charm. We sat on the front porch each morning having our coffee. It's within walking distance of downtown. If you're looking for a great place to stay, this is it!

We absolutely loved the house. Time is taken to decorate the house for the season as well as that home feeling. Not just a rental, you feel like you are at home. Each room has a story to tell.
Everything is that you could possible need.
The multiple patios give you a get-away of your own or are large enough for the group.
Close to town but not so close that you have the traffic or event noises.
This will be our place of choice every time we visit Fredricksburg.
The service from Gastehaus was flawless.

Every detail was thought of
The host thought of every detail. We had everything we needed and more. The home is very clean, well decorated, has a well equipped kitchen, everything in good working order, and multiple areas for gathering outside and ample seating in the comfortable living room. We enjoyed being in a quiet neighborhood and visited with some of the neighbors who walked by since we had coffee on the front porch each morning. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay again!

Boyfriend and I stayed here along with two other couples. We absolutely loved the place! We kept finding ourselves back at the house to spend time versus out at the restaurants and bars. The setup is perfect with everyone having their own bathrooms. We would definitely stay there again!

There were three couples, all family. It poured rain for two days so we were only able to enjoy most of the outdoors one night and the morning of our departure. The front porch was a nice place to sit during the rain. Tons of room for everyone to spread out. Will definitely stay here again!

Well appointed through out with high style, creativity and high end comfort. Kitchen is well stocked with almost anything you may require to make a meal. In experience, the home is much more spacious than the photos suggest. The outdoors offers 5 venues of relaxation. I would absolutely rent this house again.Unfortunately, I did not receive check-in instructions, arriving with no way to enter the property. On the other hand, I did not ask! I assumed that the key would be under the mat. Upon arrival, that was not the case, despite being told that was the case on my initial phone call to the reservation service asking how to get the key. The reservation service emailed the instructions but I did not see them in my email - not in spam, clutter, inbox or delete. There was no follow up phone call or even note within the VRBO system in advance of our stay to confirm receipt. Given that digital communication is prone to not making it to the recipient, often due to no fault of the sender, perhaps a confirmation phone call could help. That also good hospitality.In this case, it was confusing and surprising to learn after several phone calls that the company taking the reservation was not the property manager. Also disturbing to call the number / transfer to the number for the “emergency” line and not hear back for hours. I am relieved we never had a true emergency.On the upside, VRBO was more helpful in this case than I expected and this lack of access resolved in a couple of hours.All in, I would stay at this home again. The owner has not a fantastic job. The reservation service and property manager could have done a better job of being more responsive so that the guest could avoid being on the phone for two hours shuttling from one person to the next.

We had a lovely time! The house was perfect - beautiful decor, great beds, and the wood burning fire pit was wonderful. Some nice touches were coffee & tea available in kitchen along with cooking oil and basic spices. We will be back during our next trip to Fredericksburg!

The Forget Me Not was the perfect home for our weekend getaway celebration for our 52nd wedding anniversary! The home is beautifully decorated and comfortable beds and bedding with wonderful outdoor areas!! The weather was perfect for the fire pit and enjoying coffee/wine!! The hosts have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay just perfect......and the cinnamon roll strudel baked goods that greeted us upon arrival from Old German Bakery was divine!! We will be back to Forget Me Not!! Perfect home and location!!
