We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house exceeded our expectations and was fully equipped with everything we needed down to the utensils and dishes for the kids. The beds were comfortable and the covered deck was great for outdoor dining. The house is located just a short walk to the beach with the perfect sun exposure. The kids also enjoyed playing and running around in the big yard. We would definitely stay here again.

The house is very well designed, very comfortable for cooking, and has nice outdoor spaces. My adult son had privacy downstairs while my husband and I had our own space upstairs. We really enjoyed our stay.

This property exceeded our expectations. Quiet and hidden wooded neighborhood with views of the water. The property was wonderfully outfitted and within minutes of a lot of options hiking, dining, shopping, and exploring. Wish we could have stayed longer!

1st impression of housekeeping was that it is sub par. There was hair in shower, the fridge/freezer has built up 'grime' & has food particles in freezer drawer. The chair cushions need food vacuumed off of them. Black mold/mildew on bath mat in downstairs bath. Broken outdoor games (3 out of 6 mallets were broken). The grill hasn't been cleaned in a while, not that it mattered- there was no propane. The house is located right across from beach entrance, which was nice. Other than feeling insecure due to lack of cleanliness we enjoyed our stay on Whidbey Island.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The community beach is a long, quiet expanse. There are small towns nearby with good restaurants and shops. Be sure to get a fruit pie at Whidbey Pies in Langley.
In most listings the pictures are better than what you see when you arrive. Here was just the opposite; the pictures don't do justice to the interior. Suzy did a great job with color selection, coordinating the walls and woodwork. The wall hangings were minimal and tasteful; she didn't feel a need to cover every open space with kitsch. The furniture was nicer than in the houses that are put together as revenue streams, using furniture picked up at Habitat. Loved the fireplace; built a fire every night.

Loved our stay! This lovely home is well appointed and had all the amenities a family of 5 with a small dog could need. Very clean and comfortable. Our evening fire in the rain was cozy and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

We stayed for Christmas, and there were little holiday touches, including candy canes and a little tree with lights. Loved the walks on the beach nearby. Clean. Fresh place. Highly recommend.

Everything is as presented in the profile - even better. The house was pristine and you really feel like you are in a home rather than a cookie cutter set up. Our group consisted of 5 adults and I wanted to be sure that we had ample comfortable seating when hanging out. This place fit the bill perfectly. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking wonderful meals. Beds are very comfortable and with quality linens. Beautiful view and easy access to the beach. Highly recommended.

The house is beautiful and in a great location, with water views. It seems that the owners thought of every last detail in how they appointed the home. I’ve never seen such a great Fiestaware collection! I loved the teal decorating accents and the comfortable furniture. Even though we were on a work related retreat, it felt like a vacation.

This home was clean and comfortable with great indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy! The highlight for us was the morning walks (1/2 block) down to the beautiful neighborhood beach… low tide… shells, rocks, driftwood, tide pools… Walking the beach was a lovely way to start the day!
We enjoyed visiting the island’s unique towns, parks and beaches and the beautiful landscape and bay views. Shopping at Honey Bear in Coopeville was a fun experience! The whale watching tour out of Anacortes was another highlight!
There was good food at Gordon’s on Blueberry Hill, Flower House Cafe, and Whidbey Doughnuts! There was also a great market in Freedom and a well-equipped kitchen for eating in!
Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing time away! We hope to visit again!

This house lived up to the description and so much more! Beautiful house in terrific location steps from the water on a lovely large lot. The indoor and outdoor spaces are all thoughtfully designed. The layout of the house was so perfect for our family as we spent the long weekend preparing for and celebrating our daughter's wedding at Wayfarer on the island. The hosts are so kind, prompt and thoughtful in their communication and they have thought of absolutely everything you might possibly need. This place would suit a family with young children, a bunch of friends looking for a fun getaway or, like us, a family of adults. Such a cozy and inviting place in every regard.....we will be back!

This house was perfect for our week long stay for my son's wedding on south Whidbey. Very clean, well appointed kitchen and furnishings, comfortable beds, ample towels and linens, great deck off the kitchen, lovely views of Holmes Harbor. Pleasant landscaping.
Visited by deer and bunnies in the mornings. We were centrally located to all our other relatives and friends who were in for the wedding and close to the wedding venue. Just a lovely stay.

This is my second stay at Suzy's lovely beach house. Suzy is a caring host who is very easy to communicate with. The home is well maintained and located in a quiet, friendly walkable neighborhood. Every room in the beach house is extremely comfortable. The kitchen had all of the necessary items and appliances to prepare all of our meals. We spent our days walking through the neighborhood, on the beach, exploring and Freeland, Coupeville and Langley. We had a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. I would definitely recommend staying at Suzy's beach house!

It was hard to leave! The house is beautiful and we appreciated all the holiday touches. Gorgeous view of the water and great walk to the beach. The downstairs family room was perfect to turn on our favorite movies. Everything about this house was just what we wanted. Hope to come back sometime. Thank you.

The house was wonderful! It easily accommodated two couples and a dog. Close access to walking a private beach. Cozy home with all the amenities. TV was on the lower level which was perfect. We enjoyed long meals at the dining table and relaxing in the living room. The view of the bay and surrounding trees were the focal point. Kitchen had everything we needed to make food. Beds were very comfortable and linens were luxurious! Quick drive to several hiking spots and had a great time wandering around the sweet town of Langley. Hosts were great to work with and we can’t wait to return.

We reserved Suzy's home when my sister-in-law suggested a family staycation on Whidbey Island for Thanksgiving. I knew I would need some extra space for breaks from family and a great kitchen to cook more involved dishes for a holiday dinner.
This spot fit the bill - the kitchen island and great stove made prep and cooking easy and there were plenty of dishes and kitchen gadgets so that we didn't need to bring much from home.
My kids appreciated the books in the cozy downstairs room and we loved the water and mountain views from the deck.
The property is a little further away from Langley/Coupeville than we usually stay, but still 15-30 min from the activities we wanted to visit. Bonus: we saw deer and heard the local owl hooting at night so it felt like a real getaway!

We had a great time! Wonderful house. Loved all the windows, large kitchen, quality kitchen tools, covered deck was a great place to watch the sunset. Quiet neighborhood. Short walk to a quiet beach. The kids loved the hammock!! The house was clean and well kept. Appreciated that the hosts provided some household supplies (i.e. soaps). Hosts were quick to respond to questions. Wish we had more time to enjoy all Whidbey Island has to offer.

Our first time in this part of the country, for a family wedding. We fell in love with Whidbey Island. When not at wedding festivities we thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing at this wonderful home. It is gorgeous, has a wonderful view of the water and mountains, close to walk to a private beach. The home has everything you could possibly need, with a very well stocked kitchen. I just wish we could stay longer! The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating and a pleasure to communicate with.

Lovely vacation home!
My family had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful home. It is such a short walk to a beautiful private beach. We took our kayak and caught a nice crab dinner. The kitchen is large and beautiful, it has everything you need and more! We loved sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and watching the rabbits and deer. We also enjoyed a game of croquet and makes more around the fire pit. We were so comfortable and relaxed! The owner als o has excellent communication. We will be back!

Where eagles fly
Terrific to sit with our adult kids and watch an eagle fly by the wall of windows, walk down to the beach and find a baby deer hiding under driftwood, play games at the large dining room table. Despite cool rainy weather, a wonderful weekend in a beautiful comfortable home.

We have stayed here a few times over the years, and keep coming back since we always enjoy it. Very clean and quiet with all the supplies you may need for cooking. The secluded beach is just a few minute walk away. Communication with the owner is very easy. We look forward to our next stay!

Perfect family getaway
Lovely little house with a very nice private beach nearby, great views and lots of afternoon sun. Great accommodations for our family with young kids - bedroom with two twins, beach toys, even a basket of bedtime books. The furnace is in the kids room and a little noisy, but we turned down the thermostat at bedtime and they were able to get to sleep just fine. Host was very accommodating and let us bring our pup along. The warm outside shower made it easy to clean her up after beach play. Thanks for a great weekend!

Nice house in need of a few additions & a tip for dog owners
I'll start by saying even though we gave this house a four-star rating, there are many things about it that deserve five stars. Nice quiet neighborhood, pretty location, cleanliness, comfortable beds, great outside deck, convenience to stores and ferry, and abundant wildlife, who visit daily :)
For a few reasons, we could not give this house five stars. In our opinion, there is one glaring omission. There is no TV upstairs. With the very common cold & rainy weather in Washington, how nice it would have been to have been able to watch a movie, sports, etc., and enjoy the pretty view while relaxing or eating a meal in the upstairs/great room of the house, which is basically one large room comprising the living room, kitchen and dining table. A bedroom and bathroom complete the upstairs.
As another recent review mentioned, the only TV in the whole house is downstairs in a rather small room, with no view, in front of a small, uncomfortable sofa, which my husband and I -- who are very average-sized people -- found extremely hard to get comfortable on for longer than ten minutes. We searched for things in the house and "created" some ottomans, but it didn't help much. One or two nights of this is no big deal, but we were there for seven nights, and it was a drag. Also, the shower in the downstairs bathroom has an extremely weak water flow coming out of a shower head in desperate need of descaling. Again, a drag for a week-long stay. Check-in was not smooth at all because the batteries needed to be replaced in the automatic lock on the front door. That set us back approx. 40 minutes from checking in.
Also, floors are very slippery, and they don't allow you to wear shoes in the house. We had to carry our elderly dogs up and down the stairs, otherwise, they would have slid down the entire staircase. There are absolutely no window coverings anywhere except in the bedrooms & bathrooms. The great room upstairs has tons of large windows that make for a pretty view in the daytime, but a real "fishbowl" feeling at night if you decide you want some lights on. Don't understand at all why window coverings aren't an option for those who prefer some privacy at certain times. Lastly, I would highly recommend those who are traveling with their pups to protect them with some kind of tick prevention before they arrive at the property if this is not part of your regular routine.
Deer ticks do carry Lyme disease :(
