About this house rental
Our home ('Triphailme') is a 3,000 sq ft. private home located on the Irish coast in southwest Kerry. It sits 500 yards from Waterville Golf Links ranked in the top 5 of Ireland's best Golf courses and 54th in the top 100 of the world. The house has an 180 degree unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. The house, built in 1999, enjoys 2 living rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor, both with the ocean view.
The downstairs living room has a gas fireplace, perfect for returning from a day on the links. The house has 5 bedrooms en-suite; in addition there is a 6th bathroom in the center hall. Four of the bedrooms have ocean views.
The kitchen is very spacious with an eating area attached. A washer and dryer are located in the back pantry off the kitchen that also includes a large hot press. There is also a game room off the kitchen which has a real fireplace.
The Smugglers Inn, a 4 star Inn, is located half way between Triphailme and the golf course. The Smugglers offers fine dining at night as well as breakfast and lunch for those who don't care to cook. Triphailme is 3/4 of a mile from the village along the coast.
Brenda O'Sullivan, our house and reservations manager, is a wonderful resource for almost anything you could think of while staying at Triphailme. She can arrange airport pick up and drop off, drivers for evening activities, extra house cleaning, in-house catering and babysitters to mention a few. If you want to fish the local lake for gold medal salmon and trout with a guide, plan a unforgettable hiking trip, set up golf tee times or go horse back riding, Brenda will arrange it.
In addition to the world ranked Waterville Golf Links and Skellig Bay Golf Club, you have other spectacular golf courses to choose from. Dooks, Tralee, Killarney Fish and Game and Ballybunion are all an easy drive for day trips.
Touring scenic Valentia Island, lunching in the charming fishing village of Portmagee, or shopping at the world famous Chocolate Factory in Ballinskelligs is short half a day trip.
You can drive the historic and beautiful Ring of Kerry and lunch and shop in Kenmare and or Killarney.

We chose this house so we could visit Skellig Island. Sadly, the trip was cancelled due to stormy weather but we didn't mind too much as the house was such a pleasure to hunker down in! We used our downtime to catch up on showers, laundry, rest, and relaxation before resuming our tour around Ireland. It was a lovely house with plenty of room to spread out, watch Banshees of Inisherin, and eat take away from Dooley's in our PJs. The area looks like it would be a lovely place to explore when the weather is nicer. I hope we can return some day to find out!

Although I gave 5 stars for the online review, it really did not do it justice, the house is spacious and comfortable, the view is spectacular, it’s a 6 out of 5 overall. I would not hesitate to book it again if I went to Waterville

This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 7. Jim was extremely helpful from the time we booked this house, and thru our 3-day stay. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, walking distance to town, and great Restaurants (Smugglers Inn and Dooley's). I highly recommend this place if you are traveling to the Waterville / Portmagee area or planning a trip to Skellig Michael.

The water views from the house were beautiful. We enjoyed the house and the convenience of making breakfast at the house. The Smuggler's Inn was a short walk down the road and the food was delicious. Beaches were also a short walk away. The house was a close drive to other sights and is on the Ring of Kerry.
Suggestion: It would be great if there were window seats upstairs/downstairs and binoculars/telescope to better enjoy the view. from the house.

We had an amazing time on our holiday in Waterville! The house was a great base to explore the Ring of Kerry. It sits with a view of the bay within walking distance of beaches, Waterville golf club, and the village with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. The house itself has anything and everything you could need and if it doesn't Brenda was so nice to deal with and happy to help. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is plenty of space for everyone. We laughed that it almost felt like we were in a new place every evening as we played games in one sitting room one night, another we sat in front of the fire, yet another we sat outside and looked at the full moon and stars. I couldn't recommend this house more highly!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. It had a real feeling of home away from home. Superb location lots to do & see in the locality. House manager was excellent & checked in regularly.
Would love to book again we would certainly go back.
5 Star experience all the way.

Our group of 8 had a wonderful stay. The house was roomy and comfortable. It has all the amenities and exceeded our expectations in all respects, except fir wireless strength. Wifi needed to be reset twice a day. But this minor inconvenience did not detract from an overall excellent experience. We would definitely return to the house in the future.

This was the trip of a lifetime for our familiy and staying at this home ensured that happened. So close to the water and the beautiful town of Waterville. Jim was incredibly helpful and Brenda met us there and stopped by several times to see what we needed. Excellent restaurants, pubs and golf courses within walking distance as well as shops and historical statues and points of interest. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to go back.

The home is conveniently located with pubs, a grocery store and golf within walking distance. The meal we had at Smuggler's Inn was delicious. Brenda who manages the house is very helpful checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely consider renting the home again.

This home is well situated for golf at Waterville, experiencing the town of Waterville, and exploring the beauties of Southwest Ireland. There's plenty of room for a large group, the house is well equipped, and Brenda -- who oversees the house -- is a wonderful resource. Highly recommended if you're looking for a relaxing place to park your group as opposed to moving town-to-town.
