Excellent place to stay!

Cabin was pretty rustic, run down and beat up. We were there for mountain biking so location was fantastic for early season. Linens were clean, outdoor shower and washroom were good. Furniture needs replacing, was soaked in febreeze and stayed damp for first two days. The accommodation fit our needs but would be a tough sell for some .

Shower and bathroom are outside, couldn’t sit anywhere inside mouse droppings are on all furniture , couldn’t keep counter clean, plus they are not afraid they ran around while lights are on and people talking and nest everywhere. TV didnt work. Trash was full when we arrived. Besides that location is awesome, close to down town and easy ride to multiple trail heads.

We loved this property: On the trails, close to the village, the open floor plan allowed us to all interact, the huge deck was great for hanging out! We loved the fire pit and the entire laid back "Cabin"! This is a perfect place to stay if your a rowdy, beer drinking group of MTB'ers! We have stayed in over 10 properties in East Burke every September and this was one of our favorites!!!!

Have been staying here in the fall for the last few years. It's exactly as advertised and the location is great. The recently added bathroom and deck are both game changers.

Very comfortable stay in this cabin! Love the wrap around porch so much!

Owner was very friendly and able to answer some questions periodically as we have them. It was very comfortable, very much what we were hoping it would be. I would recommend visiting the info center to get your pass and information about how to access Kingdom trails if it’s your first time as it was ours. We rode Burke mountain downhill one day and trails all the others. Took a dip in the river down by the center of town, purchased or meet at the little market place half a mile down, and loved the kitchen and sleeping arrangements. We were three mom’s and 4 teen boys. Wifi Was good, we loved outdoor shower and fully plumbed outdoor bathroom attached to the house as it was. The wraparound porch with lighted dining is perfect. Little fire pit with Adirondack chairs made for another nice gathering Spot. No need to change a thing

A beautiful and rustic cabin, as advertised. It has a completely functional kitchen, ample dining and hang out/living space downstairs, and many beds in an open/hostel style layout upstairs. The bathroom is outside, but fully plumbed; likewise, the outdoor shower has hot water. The deck is fabulous. It is a rustic cabin (and priced appropriately) so if you are looking for more amenities, look elsewhere. But if you want an affordable and very comfortable accommodation located ride/in ride out to the Kitchel trail that your nieces, nephews and brother in law can join you at, then this spot is perfect. (I'll give it a 4.9 because the driveway is a manageable pain).

Have stayed here annually for the last several years, was always a perfect low key place to stay to ride for a few days. Low and behold this year there were some changes to the property. the new deck is huge and is a game changer, and the new bathroom was also great! Go ahead and take my money!

Incredible cabin right off of Kitchel and a short walk to town. Heaven on Earth for MTB. Highly recommend, and can't wait for our next visit.

SWEET SPOT!!!
This cabin is perfect for mountain bike enthusiasts! It’s rustic but has plenty of great amenities including a gorgeous post and beam porch, an outdoor shower, and a fire pit. The converted barn has good vibes, good storage, and a really fun sleeping loft. Proximity to town, trails, and being pet friendly make this place a five plus star rental. We can’t wait to come again!

Awesome place
This place was just what we needed for our group of friends. Better than camping, more flexible to our group size than a traditional house. Clean, neat and well stocked kitchen. porta Pot had been freshly cleaned and was no big deal. Outdoor shower was great. And the location! After dinner laps on Kitchel anybody? Fantastic.

Trailside Cabin
We had a great stay! We’ve biked KT for years and this is by far our favorite location to stay. The place was set up and stocked with everything we needed at the cabin, including several fans for a few hot nights. The owner was very nice, we would definitely stay again in the future.

Beautiful location
This property is located on the most picturesque location … the converted barn was clean and had all the things we needed to cook . It’s easy to drive to other amazing locations and near lovely restaurants and cafes … it’s not a fancy stay but a really rustic fun cabin experience.

MTB weekend
This is our 2nd time back. We love the simplicity and location of this converted barn. I’m sure we will be back.

Great stay for a fantastic mountain biking vacation
The barn was great for my family. I loved the way this building has been converted, the woodwork, the details, etc. Everything you need is here, the kitchen is well equipped, the outdoor shower is awesome and plenty hot. The port-a-potty is not luxurious by did the job.
We were a little warm upstairs in July but not uncomfortably so, especially with the fans. Awesome location close to many trails and town.
A guest book with instructions for check-out, what to do/not do, entry/exit would have been helpful.
Host was very responsive and helpful - would stay again in a heartbeat!

Family KT getaway
Great rental and location, can’t beat the trail access and proximity to East Burke. Pics made property look a bit bigger than it is but able to handle a family crew or guys/girls trip.

Great location. Great location.
Obviously I loved the location. My buddies (all around 50.) and I have been doing Kingdom Trails for 20 years and this is my favorite place to stay. It had easy access to the trails and very private which is key. The cabin was clean and comfortable but truly is a basic cabin. The outside shower was perfect and the porta potty was totally doable. Plenty of screens for the windows and fans if needed. I have camped and rented more comfortable places in the area but this was perfect for me and my friends. Renting again for sure.

Private cabin by the woods
This cabin was so lovely and charming. The outdoor shower was so nice and refreshing. The cabin itself was nestled nearby some cute little stops, a Cafe and older convenience store. It's just a few moments from a market and plenty of natural beauty. Also, the owner was so accommodating, everything you could think of. Or may have forgotten, was already there.

Will be back
Perfect spot to hit the trails! Though the weather didn’t cooperate on our second day, we loved the rustic barn, the “campy” feel, and everything was clean. The hot outdoor shower was awesome. If you like to camp but want the comforts of an indoor kitchen and cozy bed, this is a great spot.

Perfect trail side cabin
Perfect location. A big step above car camping. A few signs of mice but other than that, just what this boys weekend demanded. We’ll be back.

Perfect for our annual KT trip
Have been coming to E. Burke for over 10 years for annual mtb guys weekend. Had always stayed at the mountain campground but decided to upgrade a bit this year. Glad we did. It's still rustic but a step way up from the campground. And location could not be any better . Will be back

Rustic comfort - exactly as advertised
We stayed in late August as a family of five. Days were warm but evenings cool. The cabin was comfortable provided we kept windows open in the day and we doubled the blankets at night. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and a great old farm house sink. Lighting is a bit dim but chances are if you are staying here you are planning on riding and being outdoors all day anyhow. The cabin is literally steps from Kitchel about midway down the trail so it doesn’t get any closer than this! The outdoor shower was a highlight for us and the outhouse was as odour-free as one can hope for of an outhouse. I think it might be a bit chilly in the shoulder season and we were blessed with perfect sunny weather so our experience was optimal. Think of it more like glamping. If that’s your style you should have a great stay.
Note may not be suitable for smalll children. Our youngest was 8. The stairs might be tricky for smaller legs.

Can’t beat this location!
We had a great stay at this property with the exception of an issue with the front door. I emailed the property manager about it and she had not been previously notified. We appreciated having a private location where we could bring our dogs while we enjoyed the trails.

Problem with the manager and grey water
The manager has been very disobliging with us.
The couches are dirty
They drain grey water directly on the ground!

Fun place to stay once again!
The cabin did the trick again for our annual guys mountain bike weekend! It has everything we needed, and nothing we didn't need! Thanks again for a great place to crash for the night after some serious mountain bike mileage! Awesome place, can't wait to book it again!

Great cabin, beautiful views, trails off the back porch!
The cabin was awesome! The outdoor shower was amazing. You can ride single track all the way to town from the yard.

Perfect for a weekend with a group
Best possible location, walk/ride to town. Right on trails. Perfect rustic cabin and secluded location. Jen was a great host. I highly recommend.

Great for large group
We had 8 friends stay and the beds upstairs swallowed us all. Most are twins, with two doubles. We stayed a few years ago and the updated mattresses were appreciated. One recommendation to the owner would be another couch or two in the living area and maybe a stronger heat source as the small space heaters were not quite enough on 2 cold fall nights.
We will return, though.

Another fun weekend at the Cabin on Kitchel!
This is the second year I've stayed at the Cabin. It has everything bikers need for a fun weekend basecamp, plus the trail is right out the front door! Kitchen is equipped well, beds are comfy. Only thing lacking is a larger grill! Was disappointed with the ultra-mini weber this year. Barely enough room for a steak.

Purpose Built
Place was great - exactly what you'd want for a group that is there to ride hard and doesn't expect room service or valet. Close to town, on the trails, place to lock up bikes and that outdoor shower is great.

Perfect for mountain biking
A bunch of us have stayed at the barn for the past four years. It is the ideal spot for mountain biking with the trails in the backyard and the village down the hill. Also only about 1.5 hours to Highland and 5 minutes from Burke mountain so great dh riding too. Thanks Jenn for everything
