A LOT of our business is from repeat guests, so we are doing things right! We have several VRBO listings, so feel free to inquire about other condos.
Note: This part of the island is a mixture of socio-economic backgrounds. We have multimillion dollar homes mixed with lower income housing and unfortunately, some homeless camps. There are camps on the west side because of the great weather, but there are homeless all over the island, especially in the big city. The average price of a home is well over a million dollars here. That prices a lot of people out of paradise. That being said, you are much more likely to be a victim of a crime in Waikiki or at a tourist destination than you would be at the Hawaiian Princess. We are a gated and secure building. Most people leave their lanai doors open 24/7 to let the breeze come in and to hear the sights and sounds of the ocean. Just as an FYI, we live in the area, and we have never had an incident related to the homeless, except maybe someone holding a sign looking for a meal or a couple of dollars.

Spent only a few nights here but it was fantastic. Probably the most ready to stay VRBO I've been to. The location is away from the more touristy parts of Hawaii and that was perfect for us. The beach at the property was beautiful and secluded. The unit has an amazing view for sunsets. The kitchen had everything we need so it really felt like a comfy place to have a dinner in.
Overall awesome place and would highly recommend if you're looking for a spot away from the busy tourist heavy areas.

Can't say enough about the fabulous time we spent. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished. Unbelievable view from the balcony. Feel peacefully asleep every night to the sound of ocean waves.
The resort was secluded and the beach almost private. The apartment came with beach items to allow a comfortable day in the sun.
Kathy is awesome. So easy to work with and quick to respond. Can't wait to book trip 3.

We stayed here in July. Overall, we loved staying here & would stay here again if we visit Oahu again.
The Condo:
The condo is very nice, very clean & well appointed. We had everything we needed for the trip. The kitchen was appointed with all the large & small appliances needed to cook in the unit. The patio closet had two chairs & a beach umbrella stored inside. We used these a few times on the trip. My wife enjoyed eating breakfast, drinking coffee & reading on the patio each morning. The sunsets are beautiful, too. The king bed was comfy. At night, we would open the sliding glass doors & shut the screen doors & open the louvers to allow the breeze to cool the unit & hear the waves.
The Location:
We loved the location. It is away from the crowds of the Waikiki beach area. The trade off is that the condo is located 45-60 minutes from many of the locations we visited on our trip (Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, botanical gardens, Pillbox Hikes, Dole Plantation, & The North Shore). We rented a car & we are glad we did. Because we had so many places we wanted to see, we only spent one day at the condo, where we lounged around on the beach to relax. There are homeless camps in the area, but we NEVER felt unsafe. I believe these are working people who can not find affordable housing on the island.
The Beach:
The beach here is not crowded at all. During our stay, there were about 15-20 other people on the beach that I assume were people from this condo or the one next door.

We rented this condo for my son and his new wife for their honeymoon as a gift. They loved it! The beach, the view, the condo. All of it. They had a fantastic honeymoon. They surged, snorkeled and were able to easily get around to different places for shopping and restaurants. There are some reviews that mention homelessness and safety issues once it gets dark but they never felt uncomfortable personally. Would definitely recommend especially if you’re not one for the big city and want less crowds.

Very nice property and gorgeous beach. Kathy the owner is super responsive and caring. Our only caution is that the homeless problem that’s throughout Hawaii seems particularly bad on Oahu’s west side. The public beaches are overrun with homeless, and once you leave the property be prepared for numerous posted signs warning about “high crime”. Doesn’t make for a relaxing vacation worrying about your car getting broken into, and no public beach use. Hawaii needs to do something before tourism is wiped out.

The condo is wonderful. The view is to die for! Amenities as described. Beautiful beach. Would definitely stay here again just knowing this time that it is an hour to hour and half to get to everywhere from here. This was our fist time staying on Oahu.
Owner was very quick in addressing the couple things we had questions on/or needed.

The condo itself is incredibly comfortable. Everything you could need is there. The grocery store is 5 minutes down the road. The beach… oh the beach! It’s not crowded at all!! The water is beautiful and the waves are super fun! The sunsets are phenomenal and the pool/hot tub are excellent. 10/10 for this place for sure! Thank you for the early check in and late check out as well! Wonderful people and we hope to be back!

This is my first time booking on VRBO Website. Very impressed with how easy it was to Book this Condo. We stayed From October 21-2022 to October 28-2022. We picked this Condo because it is not in the busy Hotel District.
You can drive into Honollulu easily. The Condo Check in was easy. The staff and Security were Friendly. The Condo Complex was Quit. We were always able to find Parking in the Gated Condo Complex. The Condo was clean and well keep. The Air Conditioning in the Condo works well. The Condo has all the neccasary utinsles, towels and ect for your use. The Washer and Dryer was easy to use. We used it every day.
The Ocean View is Spactacular.
Listening to the Ocean Waves was relaxing.
The Beach is so Nice. The Swimming Pool and Hot Tube is nice to use.
You get beautiful Sun Sets from this Condo Location.

This place is beautiful! Very well appointed with paper products, ziplock bags, detergents - more than I expected. The sunsets are incredible and the beach was never crowded, usually only a few people on it and everyone was friendly. We saw at least one turtle every day! The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen was great for eating in and saving a little cash.
Do be aware, however, that Hawaii is struggling with homelessness and as of this writing most of them were on the west side. We were very caught off guard by this and almost turned around before ever reaching the Hawaiian Princess. At night you will see prostitution and drug deals as you drive down the main road. Once in the condo, we felt safe and secure. And as we talked with locals, we learned they are good kind people who are frustrated with the situation and what it is doing to their home. I would definitely stay here again, but I wish I had been given some forewarning so we would not have been so surprised. Hopefully this helps you. It is a beautiful place and the locals need your support.

Condo the only way to go, we were even able to have our own cooked breakfast out on the deck.

My experience renting this property was as listed minus the homeless people. Hawaii has a very serious homeless people problem.

Great view!
Our rental was perfect. Great view! Great swimming in the ocean right out the door and the pool! Not crowded! And super interesting to shop in a real ‘local’ grocery store with the locals! They had everything we needed to cook our meals. We mainly chose this unit because of the location (9thfloor) and the access to the ocean. It did not disappoint.

Amazing Views
When we arrived the power was out for about an hour, but the security guard was exceptionally helpful and the elevator still worked! All of the permanent residents we ran into were really nice. The views out of the front and back of this place are breathtaking. The beach was not crowded at all, but it was pretty steep and rough. All of the kids at the beach loved the big waves. Kathy thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay. The condo was beautifully decorated. The condo's location is about an hour's drive from most tourist destinations (North Shore, Wakiki, Lanikai), but we enjoy the drives through the different parts of the island. If you get a chance to drive H3 it's a must see. The location is in a poorer side of the island, but the security measures of the complex made us feel safe. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Fantastic getaway!
Our experience here was very positive.
My favorite spot- the lanai! That is where we spent a vast majority of our time when home. Whether it was our morning coffee or the end of day unwind, the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach soothed us. We saw more turtles from our perch than I ever could have imagined we would, and we tried some snorkeling too.
Inside, it's just as advertised. The convenience of having the kitchen and laundry was great. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of towels for the beach/bathing and everything we needed in the kitchen was supplied.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!

Amazing stay!
This condo is beautiful. There are beach chairs, umbrella, snorkling gear, boogie boards, a cooler to use(At the time of this review, it may change later). The shower nozzle was cracked when we got here but they replaced it with a new one the next morning. There are bugs but that comes with the beach. Be sure to keep all your food sealed.
Overall, an amazing place with the best view. I hope to be able to stay here again on another trip.

Great visit , Excellent views and unbeatable beach
Clean, big and luxurious condo. Loved the decor. Access to amenities was easy and having your own private beach is unbeatable. Away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu this is truly a paradise.

Beautiful view and beach
The place was incredibly comfortable and a really nice condo that you can tell is well-maintained. Kathy was a wonderful host and incredibly responsive, which was greatly appreciated! We had a really nice time when we went down to the beach, and it truly was just steps away. The views from the lanai were so beautiful. Although it was a little secluded (which is great if you want to escape the hustle and bustle), it still wasn't too far of a drive to get to stores or local spots for meals. The kitchen had everything we needed and the BBQ grills were just downstairs, if you wanted to stay in. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for beautiful views, comfort, and some down time!

Awesome Vacation
So glad we chose to stay at the Hawaiian Princess. The view and access to the beach were just amazing.
Kathy was so nice to converse with and provided clear instruction on the entire process. We arrived at the condo to a friendly and helpful greeting from security. We got to our room and were rewarded with the amazing view! The kids wanted to run to the beach right away. It was no hardship since it was only steps out of the elevator.
The room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking. We hit Costco on the way in, which set us up for the week. It was also great to have a washer and dryer in the room.
We would stay here again. The proximity to the (non-crowded) beach was great along with the room and view!

Amazing Views, Great Apartment
We stayed at this amazing apartment in September 2021 and enjoyed every minute of it. The apartment was clean and updated. The kitchen is well appointed, the bathroom was clean with an awesome shower, the bed was comfortable with lots of closet space. The photos and description are accurate. The host was responsive and answered all our questions in a timely and pleasant manner. You felt you were right at home and with such an amazing view it was hard to leave. Again - did I mention the view! When we weren't at the quiet beach that is just steps away, we were enjoying the view on the deck watching sunsets.
As other reviews have mentioned, the area is for the locals so there isn't much in restaurants. There is a grocery store and Longs Drugs just a short drive away. We stocked up on groceries and simply ate at the apartment when not out exploring. We did not have any issues with security as the parking is gated and there is 24/hour security on site.
Also of note, the beach is amazing, but the surf can be rough if you have small children. There is a steep drop once you get into the ocean. That being said, we saw many kids enjoying body and boogie boarding so just know your kids/family swimming abilities.
We did not have any issues with bugs or creepy crawlies.
We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this VRBO.

Perfect!
Beautiful location and sunsets every night from the balcony! Hardly anyone at the beach so it was very peaceful. The local atmosphere was exactly what we wanted and it’s why we were getting away. Very clean and I have no idea why anyone would have any complaints! The towels were awesome and, yes, nature brings critters. (It’s better than where I live with bears and mountain lions!) Just don’t leave food out. It’s not a big deal. They are tiny ones and if we saw any we sprayed. We can’t wait to go back! Five stars all the way around!

Beautiful beach
This property is on an absolutely beautiful, secluded beach, the condo owner is very nice and easy to communicate with. The condo itself is updated and nice but the rest of the building is dated. The surrounding area does not have many shops or restaurants.

Beautiful Views but Overrun with Roaches
The condo had breathing taking views from the front and back. However the management company needs to get the roach problem under control. We took the trash out twice a day to try and circumvent the roaches but still killed multiple roaches daily even in the microwave and bedroom. Also this unit is very small and the pictures make it appear larger than it is.

Peaceful setting and incredible views!
My husband and I were looking for a quiet place for our 'babymoon' and we chose to visit Oahu for the first time. We were looking for a place that was away from the busyness, on the beach and access to the rest of the island for day trips. The Hawaiian Princess is one of two condos on the beach in Makaha and gives you access to a beautiful, peaceful beach. During a busy holiday week where other beaches across the island were packed, there were no more than 25 people at the beach which really made for a relaxing experience! Kathy's condo was clean, updated, a comfy king bed and a beautiful view of the ocean. The surrounding town is not your typical tourist town, we did however enjoy being part of the local vibe with access to the rest of the island within an hour for day trips. Despite keeping the place very clean and free from food, we did see a few critters at night on the counter but nothing that we couldn't handle. :) If you're looking for a tranquil and comfortable stay, Kathy's spot is perfect for you!

Lovely condo!
My best friend and I were celebrating a big birthday, and took a girl’s trip. I had never been to Oahu before.
The condo is absolutely beautifully decorated, and extremely comfortable inside. The views of the sunset are magical... we were fortunate to also have a full moon so all views from the Lanai were gorgeous.
The sand on the beach is wonderful, and couldn’t be easier to get to! My only caution is that this is not a swimming/snorkeling beach, as the surf is very, very strong.
I recommend this property highly!

MAKAHA!!
First off, thank you to all Native Hawaiians for allowing us to visit your land. Hawai'i is a special place and the Hawaiians are amazing people. I encourage all visiting Hawai'i to learn the real history of Hawai'i, it will help you to appreciate the place and the people. The Bishop Museum is a great place to start.
Secondly, thank you Cathey for the hospitality and the amazing condo!! It is as advertised.....paradise!! So muchas gracias!
Now....MAKAHA!! The untold story!! Makaha....or should I say the WESS SIDE!!! It sure isn't Waikiki or North Shore, it is the real deal. Real Hawaii. Real people living in real situations. This place shows the struggle of the people. However, it also shows the LOVE of the people. Go there without judgement and show kindness. Your eyes will be opened along with your heart if you let it. I dont want to spoil it, so see it for yourself!!
Now for the Dad's out there, the place is great and safe. The nights are wild in Makaha so lots of sirens and crazy S**t going down. Not near the condo, but downtown. It is a local town, so local grocery store which I highly recommend, local goodies and good people. Not many sit down restaurants locally, have to drive south again, so take everything you need because traffic can get crazy. There are some fast food joints and little places though. Catheys place has everything, so you are good. Also, if fishing hit up Boom Boom, TJ the deck hand is a cool dude and they got us on tuna on a 4 hour trip, its in Waimea so just down the road.
Again, MUCH LOVE MAKAHA and OAHU and mahalo!!

Everything in this condo was spot on! Host paid attention to so many details.
Makaha isn’t for everyone but, we can overlook the town as the condo was really nice.

Absolutely Fabulous ❤
I cannot even begin to tell you how fabulous this property is! We were celebrating our 30th anniversary, and the owner left a bottle of wine in the fridge for us. It is absolutely in pristine condition, and the view is unbelievable! The area around the resort seems to be a little sketchy, but you are in a gated area, and you will feel completely safe. There are homeless people living in tents on the side of the mountain that you view from your room, but they are hidden in the trees. Just use caution as you would anywhere else, and you will absolutely positively love this place! I would go back just for The View!!!!

Beautiful Hawaiian Vacation Home!
This is a truly lovely condo and is appointed in a way you always dreamed a Hawaiian vacation home would be! Beautiful thatched walls, upscale bathroom and kitchen including cabinetry...an overhead fan in every room including the lanai! We cooked every day and found the kitchen appliances and amenities to be top shelf. Very nice cookware, sharp knives and lots of extras in the kitchen that we appreciated! Recommend conducting all grocery shopping in advance of arrival as the adjacent neighborhoods and town include a high numbers of tent dwellers. The view from the lanai day and night was absolutely tremendous! Watching the sunset every evening was the perfect way to end a long day of relaxing on the beach, golfing and hiking. The Makaha Valley golf course was 1.5 miles away. It was relatively nice but was experiencing financial difficulties so was challenged with maximum upkeep. The price was right, the people were very nice, the view of the ocean was great and it was easy to get on! You can’t beat it! The lanai is very private. You can’t see or hear your neighbors, which was very welcome—we were looking for a quiet place! The only thing we could hear was the sound of the waves crashing. One night we heard a neighbor playing his guitar and singing on the beach...we were pleased to pour a glass of wine and enjoy the concert! Mike and Kathy were great hosts...gave great suggestions for hiking trails, and responded immediately to a request for a quick minor repair. Kathy responded immediately each time I messaged her...and provided tons of information in advance of our stay as well. She is the consummate host!!

Blessed
First, I would not hesitate to stay here again and will be recommending this condo wholeheartedly to all of my family, neighbors and friends.
Other than a beautiful beach with a spectacular view from the Lanai, complete with a gorgeous sunset every night, Kathy is the biggest reason to stay at this immaculate Hawaiian Princess condo in Makaha.
From the start, Kathy has been the kindest, most accommodating host I have ever met. She is so patient and bent over backwards to make sure our vacation was wonderful, even dropping off a new toaster on the day I told her the old one was acting up.
The management itself at the Hawaiin Princess is also extremely helpful and do a great job of maintaining the building. We felt safe here and truly appreciate the hard work they put into making it a nice and clean place m
And the guests were all very nice and respectful. The only noise we heard all week were the waves.
Condo 903 is upgraded with central air and tastefully decorated with all the amenities, including a washer and dryer. It was super clean.
You have a view of the ocean and mountains from the balcony, stepping out of the front door and while waiting for the elevator. It's truly a 360 view of paradise.
The location is perfect to go anywhere on the island, and we drove everywhere.
Waianae and Makaha are a local area with real affordable food and local Hawaiians. Everyone made us feel welcome.
Mahalo Kathy for a wonderful day. I am so sad to leave but I pray the Lord Jesus will bring us back as I consider you a friend and this place my second home.
Until we meet again Kathy:
