The location of this condo couldn’t have been better! Even though there is still a lot of post-hurricane construction, it was still beautiful!
However…..the condo itself could use quite a bit of attention. I hate to complain about anything, but I sure wish I had seen some truthful comments before booking. My complaints:
1. Very meager furnishings. Coffee maker, toaster, hair dryer were all worn out/ cheap.
2. Not enough seating. There was a couch. Period. A recliner was pictured, but not there.
3. Elevator did not work 2 of the 5 days we were there.
4. The downstairs bedroom smelled like a dirty aquarium.
5. The bed linens/ pillows in the downstairs bedroom were just plain gross.
I would definitely go to Captiva again, but will look elsewhere for accommodations.

Kim refused a full refund after Hurricane Ian devastated the island and made the property uninhabitable. Instead, she offered to apply 50% of what we paid towards a future rental, when ever that may be, and at whatever price she was charging at that time. She repeatedly mislead VRBO and refused to cooperate, saying "Hope you bought the insurance." In short, we did finally get a full refund, no thanks to her.

Some Issues and poor communication
The condo was not ready at check in. When "ready", it still was not clean. The sheets in the 1st floor bedroom were filthy and had to be laundered by us. The floors needed to be swept. The upstairs bathroom sink was leaking, and we had to wait for a repairman. The key pad stopped working on the 2nd day, and we had to wait several hours for someone to bring a key. When communicating with the property manager, we were offered a late checkout time for our inconvenience. We requested one free day and got no response at all. We lost many hours of our time that should have been spent at the beach laundering bedding and waiting for a key. That was not acceptable.

Needs an overhaul...
We have stayed in this resort before and the quality of this property is lacking in comparison to other condos. It needs a new refrigerator, appliances, bed linens. paint..the upstairs bathroom reminded me of summer camp and smelled. I love the location but will be renting from someone else next year.

Great location!
We had a very nice stay. If I had to critique anything I think I’d say the property could use a fresh coat of paint.
Another reviewer said there could have been more living room chairs so we threw 2 of our Coleman “bag” chairs in the car - we used 1 of them every day. Kim was very responsive on any questions or requests.

Love Captiva Island
Very nice unit. We stayed in 2503. Furnished with everything we needed. Great location close to the pool and beach. Lots of available chaise lounge chairs when we got down to the beach every afternoon. Make sure you walk or ride a bike to the end of the road and see the Hilton property. We saw Dolphins and Manatees

Great ocean getaway
The property was in an ideal location and everything we needed was provided: towels, chairs, coffee maker, utensils, etc.
The view was stunning and the property was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the living space was open and inviting.
The television (programming) and WiFi were not great. But, that tis not why you go to a place like this.
Everything was perfect. I wish I could have arrived before 4:00PM. But if you can deal with that, this place is a full-fledged winner!

Awesome place. Have been coming to Captivate for years. This was by far the best place for us. Being able to cook, the sunsets, pool. Overall a wonderful place. Only negative was tv reception. (A little fuzzy). Didn’t really matter , We were busy enjoying Captiva.

Convenient for the beach/pool
Great communication with the owner. Condo is right on the beach, overlooking the pool. Helpful to have a rental car. Near shops, near town. 3 miles from South Seas resort. Condo was very dusty, needs air filters and vents cleaned (dust hanging out of them).

Unable to connect with WiFi despite repeated communication with rental agency. Unit well stocked with amenities. Great access to the beach and sunset views from deck. Lots of room. Appreciate the awesome beach chairs and umbrellas.

Perfect for families
The condo was the perfect size for our family of 5. Lots of other families with small children at the same complex, which is better than the college crowd. The unit has a rental vibe and lacked in comfortable seating. Really only one comfy chair. It also had a stinky air conditioner. But the beach and area are gorgeous with many activities and great wildlife. We had a great time.

Great location and amenities.
The check-in process was super easy. We appreciated the additional island information that the owner included. Great location, right on the water. The provided amenities allowed us to really enjoy the beach. The condo was clean but just a little worn out.

Nice break
This was our first post Covid vacation. The condo was as advertised. The views from the screened in porch are amazing. You can see not only the ocean but the pool. Everything was clean. I was surprised by the amount of things provided such as sunscreen, pool noodles, beach chairs, and beach towels. The condo was quiet. The only time I heard anyone else there was when I sat on the porch.

Great Beach Getaway
This is a wonderful spot for a family vacation on the beach. Easy walk right to the beachfront, and all you need right nearby! (Even Starbucks!) The condo itself is on the third floor and has a grew view of the pool and beach. It's a little worn, but you would expect that from a beach front home. Overall this is a great place for a relaxing getaway!

Good middle of the road option
We loved this quiet resort and location for our time on Captiva! The beds were comfortable enough, and the unit was clean. It could use some updating, and the sofa absolutely needs to be replaced. The beach items showed wear and tear. But for an ocean front view and convenient access to beach, we felt it was a fair trade off for the price. I did feel that communication ahead of our rental could have been better. Some of the emails and communications ahead with the owner didn’t have punctuation, were not professionally drafted, and were difficult to decipher. This made checking into the unit more challengingd. However once we established connection with the local property manager the rest of our stay was easy and fun.

Only thing good was location
We stayed at this condo for 10 nights in December and left right before Christmas. Check in was easy and done right at the gate without even getting out. But as soon as we opened the condo door, everyone said, “Ewww this place stinks.” The condo is in desperate need for a dehumidifier. Looking back, I noticed the posted pics are from 2013. The couch is the most horrible piece of furniture I’ve ever sat on and smelled something fierce. Even the kids could feel the wood frame when sitting on it bc it’s so bad. The ONLY comfortable thing to sit on in the entire place is the recliner. The metal patio furniture didn’t have cushions and the dining area seating had kitchen rugs on the one side of benches. The kitchen had the most basic junky appliances ever. Trash can step lid broken It was like they were all purchased at yard sales or Goodwill. There were NO baking sheets for the oven so we bought foil ones. Only half of one side of the grills outside of the condo by the pool worked, the others didn’t work at all. The front door needs weather stripping. The wifi is just DSL so horrible for streaming and that’s a big deal in December when it gets dark at 6p and my kids had to stream their live lessons for virtual school. The cable was all snowy. The alarm clocks with iPhone connectors r literally for the original iPhone charging port. Useless now. Mold in bathrooms and kitchen vent. The only cooler was a torn up soft cooler with a zipper. I would have packed one had i known that was the cooler. The pool water was a little chilly. We got into one of the resort guests only pools just to feel the water and that was considerably warmer so I’m not sure y the resort doesn’t keep the 3 pools we had access to warmer. The place was super dusty. The exhaust fans were so dusty, they didn’t do anything to get the shower steam out so more humidity in the already damp smelling condo. The twin and trundle bed literally had a 6 in thick mattresses so we had to double them up to make it comfortable for my daughter. And there was a VCR/DVD combo up there w a bunch of tapes. Why??? None of the tvs are smart TVs but luckily we had a chrome cast since the cable sucked but also had to keep buffering shows. My paperwork from the owner stated they are fussy ppl that are willing to pay a little more for nice things so I had a higher expectation going into this rental. Being walking distance to shops and little grocery store nice. Golf cart rental is a must.

Disappointed and disgusted
We wanted to enjoy Christmas away from home but also maintain caution and minimize time in crowds. As much as we paid for 4 nights, we were expecting a comfortable place we could enjoy as we were going to spend most of our time there.
Upon our arrival, the disappointment started.
We found mold on the ac duct in the kitchen. The cable reception was poor. All the furniture is old and it shows, chipped paint and rust on every one of the major kitchen appliances. Tired musty couch. Many lights don't work. Rust stains on the curtains and the utensils.
These are things we noticed first. Then the wifi went out. Then the upstairs shower started leaking into the downstairs bathroom through the ac duct. Neither the wifi nor the leak were fixed during our stay. Our family of four all had to share the downstairs shower.
We did not enjoy our stay. Read the other reviews as we should have. You'll notice a theme with descriptions such as "run down", "tired", "needs updating", and "shabby".

Updating needed
I would not stay again on this condo. All the furniture is dated and needs a deep cleaning.
We got to the apartment and used the toilet on the first floor, and it did not flush. We communicated with the manager, she returned our call right away and came to try to fix it within two hours.
She could not fix it, the next day a plumber came in and had to replace the whole toilet. Needless to say, we all had to use the other toilet for all that time.
The kitchen utensils were dirty and there was a mix and match of everything.
The sofa on the living room was very dirty, had to use the exta sheets for the sleeper sofa, to cover the sofa so we could sit on.
The whole building was full, as we were walking to the elevation or down the stairs we could see some other units that had the door open, and from the outside, they looked way more updated and clean.
This unit need some TLC.

Location was great, easy beach and pool access. Condo is your typical beach rental. Loved that it had two king bedrooms. If you do not book directly with South Seas Resort you are not allowed to use any of the amenities on the property that require a “wrist band.” South Seas staff was very rude if you did not book directly through the resort and have a “wrist band.”

Kim was on site when we arrived. The condo was as promised. I loved having beach chairs, a cooler, umbrellas, sand toys available. One umbrella was a little rundown and she brought us a new one over right away! Thank you!

Great getaway
Very great location. Stayed right after public beach closure due to pandemic, and had access to a large swath of private beach. Owner quickly replies to email.
