About this house rental
Beachside location (minutes walk to Lecount Hollow Beach) and comfort are everything for a great vacation. Stay at this cool (central A/C) and comfortable, updated home *within* the National Seashore in Wellfleet. Located on a private road off Ocean View Drive which runs along the Atlantic Ocean. Our road leads to a private path (for residents and guests) directly to LeCount Hollow Beach (minutes away). Enjoy the convenience of being beachside living with parking space for up to 3 cars. No waiting in the car for a public parking spot to open or having to go to the beach at 8 AM to get parking. Walk home for lunch or a snack and go back at your leisure. Additionally, the famous Beachcomber is about a mile down Ocean View Drive (walkable, drive, bike or take the free shuttle). Popular PB boulangerie (French bakery and Bistro) is also about a mile or less away.
As our previous guest reviews suggest, our beach house is in a wonderful beach location. Lecount Hollow (also referred to as McGuire's Landing) and the other National Seashore ocean beaches (Lecounts, White Crest, Cahoon Hollow and Newcomb Hollow) are the most beautiful beaches on Cape Cod and are all located off Oceanview Drive. Other location attractions include a nearby 27 mile bike trail, several fresh water kettle ponds and bayside beaches. We are also about a 5-10 minute drive to the town center and harbor. This great area has always attracted families and friends escaping the rigors of real life. Go home refreshed.
The house itself is one of only ~300 within the National Seashore Park. We have 2 queens and a full bed. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor (One Queen, One Full). We also have a rollout for an overnight guest. There are 2 full bathrooms as well as an enclosed outside shower.
There is spacious living room and eat in kitchen. Note that we have upgraded in 2015 with new cabinets, lighting, bedroom furniture and other updates to make even more comfortable and attractive.
The shady, natural patio/yard is a unique feature of the house. It offers a quiet place to relax and have a cocktail or eat outside with family and friends. In the afternoon it is a shady oasis after a hot day at the beach.
At night, walk or drive to the Beachcomber Restaurant/Night Club which features nightly live bands and soloists from all musical genres (~1 mile down Ocean View Drive) or have a cocktail in their beachside bar 'apres beach'. PB Boulangerie and Bistro, an extremely popular French bakery and restaurant, is a mile down the road (15-20 minute walk).
You never need to leave the area but, for the adventurous, there are many other great restaurants, art galleries, golf, mini-golf, drive-in theatre, live theatre and other attractions in Wellfleet and the surrounding towns (P-Town, Truro or Orleans). Provincetown offers a vibrant downtown area which is a *must* visit about 20 minutes away. There is also a variety of night options in Provincetown.
Jog or bike along Ocean View Drive. Fish, swim or relax on the beach or on your patio steps from the Atlantic. Overall, get ready for an amazing, fun and exciting summer getaway with friends, family and the people of LeCount Hollow Beach and Wellfleet! You will not be disappointed.
Please note that towels and linens are not included. Cleaning is included for a 7 day stay. There is a $150 cleaning fee for short stays (additional fee added after booking).
Great October and November off-season weeks (or nights) at excellent rates are also available.

The house is very clean, well-maintained, has all necessary amenities, and offers easy access to the beach and local attractions. Great location for families and quiet getaways.

Well equipped. My grand daughter loved the sidewalk chalk. Great patio.

Great accommodations and perfect location
3.0 / 5.0
We loved the house which is a short and easy walk from an uncrowded beach. Unfortunately, it had not been cleaned after the previous renters. Floors and beds were covered in sand, counters and dishes unwashed, sinks full of dark beard trimmings, and toilets and bathroom floors encrusted with dried urine. Because of our children arriving soon, my wife and I got to work and spent our first day of vacation scrubbing the kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring. We were reimbursed for the $150 cleaning fee we had paid but not for the cost of the house that day or the loss of our first day of vacation. After our forced maid duties, we were able to enjoy the comfortable, well-equipped house which is in an ideal location with the nearby beach and biking rail trail. We were considerate and left the house much cleaner than the previous renters.

We loved the location, right near the bike trail! Near the beach and the Beachcomber too! We also just loved the home and the relaxing sectional in the living room, as well as the backyard, complete with very comfy chairs and a fire pit, easy push button !
Great stay for us 😀!

We loved the location. It is less than a mile from the Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking and running and an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. Also 30 minute drive to Provincetown and 10 minute drive to downtown Wellfleet. Very quiet neighborhood and nice backyard outdoor space for use all times of the day.

The house was very clean and setup perfectly to handle a family and then some. It is incredibly conveniently located to the beach so you do not need to worry about packing your car and getting parking . You simply walk to the end of the road and the trail to beach is 100ft long. We could have easily stayed another week or more. There is a nice back patio to eat and grill your dinner too. Would definitely come back next summer.

Our first time in Cape Cod, and this house was just what we needed- all of the necessary amenities, very clean, updated nicely, and plenty of space for our entire family. The location was perfect to visit many locations around the Cape, including beaches, restaurants, and shops. Working with the owner was easy and responses were quick. We had no issues with cleanliness or maintenance of the property at all. If we come back to the Cape, I would definitely look here again!!

Family-friendly beach house in a quiet neighborhood near all the sights of Wellfleet. Great location. Walked to the beach every morning and brought the kids to the ponds. Short drives to Chatham, Truro, and Provincetown for dinner. The house has a finished basement with its own bed and bathroom which proved ideal for a babysitter to have their privacy. Highly recommended!

Pros- great location, easy walk to a beautiful beach. Plenty of space, really nice back yard! Great outdoor shower. Property has great potential, perhaps just needs better management.
Cons- Beds were in very poor condition, dirty and very hard. Double bed had a topper on it that was too big, our toddlers fell out of bed repeatedly so we ended up putting them in the queen. Rollaway bed wasn’t there. We notified owner immediately, yet the cot didn’t arrive until the following day. When it finally did arrive, it was extremely old and had a huge indent in the center of it and a wheel was broken. We closed it right back up and couldn’t use it. We notified owner of the cot’s condition, heard nothing back. We had to try to scramble to arrange sleeping for everyone with one less bed. Queen bed was especially hard. Looked to be very old. There was a load of dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. The cabinets had food left in them from previous visitors. Surfaces had to be wiped down as there were many food stains. Kitchen chair was broken. Overall needed a good cleaning. We took photos of issues upon arrival and left the property in much cleaner condition than when we arrived. Fire pit in the backyard didn’t work. We thought it was a propane issue, but tank was full.
Overall property was nice and had great potential, you could tell that time has been put into making it cozy, it just needs better management/general upkeep.

Always a pleasure to stay at this property. For us, the house and location cannot be beat.

We were quite pleased with our cottage choice. It was comfortable, very clean and exceptionally quiet (off season). We appreciated being able to rent for 3 nights rather than a whole week. The location suited us as well. We would definitely return.

Great stay. Cleanliness is 4 star because the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and the backyard is ready for a trimming. The house was nice, had everything that we needed, convenient to the beach and local market. We enjoyed our stay/

My wife and I stayed her for a week with another couple and their two kids. We've stayed at almost a dozen Cape properties between us and this is the one we like to keep returning to. For us, it has everything we love about the Cape. The location is in the National Seashore, so it is peaceful and quiet. There are hiking trails within walking distance, and of course Lecount Hollow beach is just a five minute walk. Between the birds, red squirrels, rabbits, and a fox, there is a lot of wildlife around, and I got a bunch of great photos just sitting on the patio. The house is very comfortable as well. Great beds, comfortable couches. The kitchen has everything you need to make your meals. That is, if you're not taking advantage of the restaurants about a 5 minute drive away. Add in the outdoor shower and I was in Cape heaven. Looking forward to coming back.

Such a beautiful cottage, with so much for a family to unwind.

The house is lovely and well cared for, and the location is great, but sheets, towels, soap and blankets were not provided, and this was more of an inconvenience than I expected it to be. Thinking the house might be very cool in April, we loaded up on bedding to the point that we had to take an extra car (3 cars, total) to accommodate all those sheets, blankets, towels and 7 people. Secondly, after booking and paying, we received an email that gave picky instructions for keeping the house meticulously clean every moment. This put a bit of a damper on our ability to relax and enjoy our time in the house. I always clean rentals thoroughly before checking out, so this was unnecessary for me. It appears that some renters have not been as considerate and have even stolen towels, sheets, etc. I'm sorry this happens but I'd prefer to stay somewhere that shows more friendliness to me on my vacation. On the positive side, the owner was quick to return my 2 calls and a small plumbing problem was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. Note: the house has excellent heating/ac in each room so the extra blankets were overkill on our part. If guests bring a light blanket and one set of sheets per bed, they'll be warm enough since cozy quilts are also provided.

Wonderful, clean and bright house walking distance to local beach. Great neighborhood and driving to all National seashore beaches. Highly recommend!

We rented this perfect house for a sisters weekend - it was very clean - close to the ocean beaches and had 3 bedrooms. We found everything we needed and were very comfortable in this house. We would definitely rent again if we went back to the Cape.

Well appointed, very clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet neighborhood home. Just minutes to beaches. Accommodating responsive host. Look forward to more visits!

Terrific location, just as pictured and described in listing.
PB's Boulangerie nearby is a real bonus--so lovely to have
fresh pastries and croissants on the pretty patio behind the house. The house was comfortable, and the kitchen had all necessary equipment, except for eggs cups (a nice to have, not a need to have). The upstairs shower would 'sing' from time to time (pressure on the pipes?), and not a serious issue unless you are highly sensitive to high pitched sounds. All in all, a lovely stay.

We were very impressed that we did not have to get back in the car to get to the beach. We easily walked down Wilson Avenue, and within three minutes we headed down the dunes to the water below. Everything was quite easy, and the neighborhood was perfectly quiet for older travelers who are just seeking some peace.

We had a wonderful time renting this property. The house was cheery, nicely maintained and well-stocked. The owner left a very helpful and informative guest book with lots of info about local restaurants, attractions, etc. Walking distance to beautiful ocean beach is a huge plus. Nice size house for our family and friendly neighbors. We’d love to rent here again.

This was our first time on Cape Cod and it could not have been more wonderful! The home is in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the beach and had all the amenities necessary for a relaxing trip! We were very grateful for the restaurant recommendations that John provided as it was still the off season and it everything had opened yet. He truly thought of everything in his guide to Wellfleet and Cape Cod. The central location of Wellfleet allowed us to take day trips into Provincetown and to Chatham which was wonderful. We also spent a day riding bikes on the bike trail which was a great time and perfect for our 3 and 6 year old boys! John was very responsive, kind, and welcoming! I cannot recommend this property or it’s location enough!

Our active family enjoyed the ideal location, 1/3 mile from beach access to the beautiful LaCount Hollow Beach. We also biked up Ocean View Ave and around the kettle ponds (1.5 miles away). We biked and ran on the rail trail (1 mile away) and greatly enjoyed being .9 miles from the delicious and renowned PB Boulangerie Bistro & Bakery! The home itself was impeccably clean, furnished tastefully, and with seriously comfortable couches and beds. Kitchen was well stocked- we cooked a full Easter dinner with no problems! There is a very nice backyard patio that if the weather had been warmer we would have used more- it was really a nice addition to have that outside space also. John was accessible and quickly answered the couple of questions that arose during our stay.

We spent a week at this house, three adults and two 9 year olds. The house was very clean, with new leather furniture, air conditioned and well located just one half block from a Le Counts Hollow beach. The street has little traffic so the kids were able to ride bikes on it without concern . I would highly recommend this house for a lovely family week at the beach.

We had a long week-end at the beach house. The location is fabulous. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. It's a quiet neighborhood and very relaxing. Close to Orleans and Provincetown. The house has plenty of room with Direct TV and available WiFi. A nice yard with a gas grill for cooking. We look forward to returning next spring for another long week-end and possibly a week in the summer. I'll recommend this place to my family and friends.

House was great (very nice furniture), location was great (short walk to beach down the street) and owner was great and very attentive. Love Wellfleet, the beaches, the restaurants, the breakfast pastries down the street at PB Boulangerie (line forms at 7 am), the Mac Shack outdoor bar on Commercial Street, The Comah at the Beachcomer on Cahoon Hollow beach, fires at the beach, etc.
