About this cabin rental
Thanks for stopping by! Maybe this is what you're looking for: an cozy place for your small family to escape the heat and enjoy a pristine mountain lake, a quiet and beautiful couple's Fall getaway, a place to fish, swim, explore. You've found us!
Our cottage is not fancy or huge. It's cozy, clean and right on Lake Nantahala, one of the highest and cleanest lakes in the Eastern U.S. We bought the cottage years ago as a perfect escape from the busyness of Atlanta. Now we want to share it with you.
We have no pool tables or hot tubs or game rooms. We DO have a great private dock, books, dvd's, and a place to simply unwind without all the usual distractions of home. Swim from our private dock. (Bring your snorkle gear ... i usually see fish when I snorkle around our dock ... the water is crystal clear) Bring your boat (ramp is 2 minutes away) or rent one from Lakes End Marina (or use our canoe and kayaks.) Kids love our dock, the many streams to wade in, and places to hike and explore (we're practically surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest). Parents love the quiet setting, our collection of books and movies, and the fact that your cell phone or your digital devices won't work up here! Your kids (and you, if you're so tempted!) will be "device free" at Grace Cottage. There are great restaurants 20-45 minutes by car (or ride your boat across the water to Lake's End Grill), a Super Walmart in Murphy (35 minutes away) for supplies, hiking trails all around (the Appalachian Trail is 20 minutes away), whitewater rafting close by, and lots of places to wander. There's a casino nearby, if. you're into that sort of thing. We are not Disney World. We are quite pleased to be 'all natural'.

The house was remodeled and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs to lake was quite overwhelming but great dock when you get there. Had all that we needed, the owner has great artist on display. Loved our stay.

A beautiful property on the mountain side. Perfect place for family of four and a dog. Enjoyed spending time on the porch, dock and lake. Curt made it easy to find places without using Wii fii. The nights were warm so needed fans and AC. The AC units were not cooling enough. Figuring out how to turnaround our large parked car was a challenge but cautiously learned. Overall a wonderful relaxing vacation!

We had a great stay at Grace Cottage. The owner, Curt gave us great directions, instructions for the house and suggestions for our trip. The home was comfortable for our family of four and two dogs. It had everything we needed for our long weekend and we would definitely come back. Thanks!

Curt was great with communication, the rental was great. Very peaceful. The no cell service and wifi was awesome to just relax and enjoy the time. Curt provides alot of dvds to watch. The parking is a little tight. But not the end of the world. Had a nice dock to fish from and dock the boat we brought with us. Will be back again. Thanks curt!

Our family stay at the cabin was a breath of fresh air for the Thanksgiving holiday. A much needed break from the city. Even though the weather was cold, the cabin was warm and comfortable. Bonus of no wifi allowed us to reconnect as a family with dvd movie nights and exploring the area. We are thankful for this wonderful experience.

It all that I needed. Great outdoor activities if you’re looking to fish, swim, kayak or canoe or just sit on the dock and enjoy the scenery. The cabin has an amazing back deck to enjoy a meal or just recharge after a day on the lake. Top it off with a fire situated in the trees half way between the lake and cabin.

We’ve stayed at Grace cottage twice now, once in the spring and once in the fall, and it’s always a wonderful place to relax. It’s private, clean and comfortable, and we cook all our meals there so we don’t even have to leave until time to go home. The lake is beautiful and not very busy, and the views of the surrounding mountains are amazing. We can’t wait to go back.

Quiet.
We stayed during Christmas of 21. Quiet is an understatement. House was perfect size for us. Dogs were content. Back deck was perfect for enjoying quiet.
No cell service. No internet. Only 3 channels on tv. This was a great way to relax.
Make sure you use the crossover road to hayesville. Taking highway adds half an hour. Plus you get to see why this corner of nc is so magical. Tuni gap is a great place to start your hiking. Chunky Gal trail crosses the road so you can either take the trail or stay on gated forest service roads.
Great echo across lake. Our redbone coonhound utilized this to his best efforts. Actually having people across the lake egg him on for more baying.
Owners were attentive and welcoming. We will certainly be returning to this cabin as we can.
This corner of North Carolina is a haul from Raleigh. But worth it. The valley leading into hayesville from Tipton over mountain was sublime.

Owner was easy to work with. However, we somehow missed the info far down in the description that there is NO cell/WiFi service at all in the area or the cabin. Made getting around an unfamiliar area almost impossible. The one restaurant we went to for dinner was good but they don’t serve alcohol, it’s BYOB, but we didn’t know this because we couldn’t get info about anything due to no cell service. We cut our two night stay short and came home. Cabin could use a deep cleaning.

Perfect lakeside spot for quiet comfort, relaxation, and gorgeous views.
My husband and our two dogs stayed for a four nights. The overhanging porch overlooking the steep hill down to water w grill was nice. The inside was very clean and pleasant and well organized. The king size mattress was comfortable and the kitchen had all the stuff we needed for cooking.
The steps down to water were well kept, still very steep and many of them so be prepared to get a cardio workout on the way up. The

The cabin was beautiful, and we really enjoyed being on the lake. The hosts were so kind! They even called to check in when we got there, just like a friend would. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away.

We had a wonderful summer week here, swimming off the dock every day, hiking, rafting, grilling. We hated to leave and go back to real life. The host is super nice and made sure we had a good stay. Highly recommend.

Relaxation x 10!
This place was wonderful! We spent half of our day on the deck and the other half on the dock. We were able to relax fully, read and forget all about time. The kitchen was well stocked and there were extra trash bags, TP, etc... if needed. The hike up and down to the dock was a good work out. We left our chairs and cooler down there and refreshed as needed each day. I would recommend bringing your own chairs and umbrella (if you like shade) for the afternoon sun when it hits the dock.
The movie selection was good and it was fun to pick one out to watch each evening. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. We enjoyed taking short walks in the neighborhood. The only complaint I have is not having a real glass wine glass to use, otherwise this place was perfect and we hope to return.

Great cabin by the lake
The cabin was so enjoyable. Simple, yet well appointed. The directions and information on the area provided were accurate and very helpful. It was great to have a canoe and a few kayaks available. The kitchen has plenty of pots/pans/accessories that made meal preparation easy. I'd go back just to sit on the back porch some more.

Great time
The cabin was very nice and in a great spot to the lake. Loved the dock and that they had a conoe and kakayi. Had a great time!

Lovely, Cozy Cottage for Lake Lovers!
The owner's description of this lovely lake cottage is very accurate, so there's not much more we can add. It's a perfect location for anyone who wants to enjoy swimming, boating, or fishing at the beautiful Nantahala Lake. The cottage has a nice little kitchen, comfortable king-sized bed, and a big deck facing the lake. Lake access is via 140 steps (my wife counted them), so you must have adequate leg power for the climb back up to the cabin from the dock. The only minor negative is the lack of internet WiFi and limited satellite TV channels. Since there is no cell signal, you are disconnected from the grid at this cottage. We're all about disconnecting, but we visited during the 2020 presidential campaign and wanted to watch convention coverage, etc. The only major TV news channel was PBS. Other cottages nearby appear to have WiFi. If you need to check you're email, etc., you can drive down to the town of Andrews (about 30 minutes) and use the free WiFi at the MacDonalds. We did this for a Zoom meeting. The owner, Curt Cloninger, is super friendly and helpful. He promptly answered any questions we had prior to our trip and called us at the cottage to be sure everything was OK. You will love staying at this wonderful cottage!

Place is great. Great to get away from electronics.

Home was better then advertised.
My family and I had one the best vacations in i date. Curt contacted me before I came up and sent me directions. He also called us at the cabin to make sure we made up it the mountain and if everything was good to go at the cabin. The kayaks and Canoe are easy access to drop in water. Fishing was even more convenient to go right off the dock in the back yard. We caught some bass! There’s rope swings to jump in the water at multiple spots! The views are amazing. It’s peaceful, no one bothers you. At night time take your family to the dock or the front yard and drop a blanket down and good lord you will see millions of stars. We don’t get this view living in the city. Home was fully stocked with all amenities . There’s no service or WiFi... AWESOME! That’s a big reason on what made it so peaceful. They supplied you with Some good dvds for the kids if your trying to relax. They have a grill on property.
If anything this home is priced right. We travel to N.C every year year and I recommend to everyone. We will be back every year.
Thank you for having us!!!! See you in a few months!
