Get out of the city and head to the beautiful country from this Idyllwild vacation rental. Located west of Highway 243, the home sits in a secluded wooded area with plenty of undisturbed nature outside your doors. If you're looking for more action, just a mile north lies Idyllwild's town center, with eclectic gift shops, quaint cafes, and entertainment venues. Wake up refreshed and ready for new adventures, including a day of bombing down local singletrack on a guided mountain bike tour with The Hub Cyclery. Some guests may prefer learning about the area's ecology and natural history at the Idyllwild Nature Center two miles north or trekking through wilderness on the Mt. San Jacinto Summit Trail, which begins 11 miles north. There are also fun live music performances and stand-up comedy shows at the Rustic Theater one mile up the road, and a variety of watersports, such as fishing, kayaking, boating, and stand-up paddle boarding, are only eight miles south at Lake Hemet. If you're in the mood for a day trip, drive 22 miles west to Hemet for museums, shopping, and other attractions in the heart of San Jacinto County. Kids will love playing in interactive exhibits at the Fingerprints Youth Museum, and the whole family will adore learning about dinosaurs that once roamed in the area at the Western Science Center. You could also catch a performing arts show at the Ramona Bowl Amphitheater, rent a boat and explore Diamond Valley Lake, or hike, bike, and trek even more nature trails around the town.
This home exudes plenty of cabin character with a wraparound outdoor deck, knotty pine walls and cabinets, high ceilings, forest-themed decor, and even a free-standing fireplace. Start a fire in the living room's fireplace and settle into the couch, a rocking chair or a comfy recliner to enjoy a DVD while the fire warms the room. You could also use the home's WiFi to plan your next hike in the San Jacinto wilderness, freshen your clothes in the washer/dryer, or take a relaxing soak in the private hot tub.
When you get hungry, head into the kitchen to whip up a feast using modern appliances and a variety of cookware. Share meals at the dining table, or dine alfresco on the wraparound deck at a glass-top table. As you dine, take in the gorgeous mountain views, then play a fun game in the horseshoe pit.
Retire for a restful slumber after a full day of mountain activities. Additional sleeping space is provided on one futon and one extra mattress. Warm and cozy with quilted bedding, carpeted floors, shaded windows, and nightstands with reading lamps, the bedrooms will deliver a great night's sleep to all vacationers.

The beds were very clean and comfortable. A couple of small updates could be made, such as providing cushions for the outdoor chairs, cleaning the outdoor table, providing firewood, and providing coffee. Otherwise it was a great spot and very close to town.

A beautiful location, a charming older home, and a lovely deck. Very quiet at night, and great walks in the area. But as per some previous reviews, several things could be addressed. There are no cushions for the iron deck furniture, which make it very uncomfortable out there. In the kitchen, there are only five spoons, no teakettle, and not many cups. But the house was cool, with windows open, and the bedrooms were great.

uncomfortable for the summer months. No cold air. The fans just circulate the warm air. Cute home but could use some window air units if using during the summer.
The house itself is cute. Just lacking some extra amenities for those hot summer days.

Super cute cabin, nice and rustic (and nostalgic!) We enjoyed the hot tub after our adventures in Idyllwild, and the fully stocked kitchen was very appreciated. This is a great place to stay if you want a little place close to shops and trails. We'll definitely be back!

The house was clean, beds were clean, etc. but everything is so so so outdated. Small upgrades are really needed here. If you plan to cook, bring your own seasonings. Bring your own coffee or plan to buy some. Bring your own ice. The hot tub was clean and comfortable, but overall we would not stay here again. The location was close to the square so that was convenient and very close to Inspiration Point where we caught an incredible sunset, but there are better options in Idyllwild.

Nice place if it was up to standards. Left early.

You must bring all the necessary essentials like foil, extra napkins seasonings, etc. there were very minimal pans to use so if your bringing anything for the oven there were no pans. make.sure jacuzzi works.and let them know right away as they take long to respond. we had no access to jacuzzi as breaker went out, we had to wait 2 days for them to fix when trying to chat with someone for issue it takes so long if it's sms.

Upon walking in, this cabin is as cozy as it gets! Wood burning fireplace, beautiful mountain decor, very clean, and has all the necessities for a pleasant stay. I especially enjoyed the complimentary eco friendly toiletries. Super close to town and convenient for dog owners!

Good location, quiet, romantic

The place overall is as bigger than I had thought, cozy, and in a great location. I did have a few hiccups with the cleanliness and the missing cushions on the outdoor chairs. Thankfully the property management was very good with communication and helped fix the problem. I would definitely recommend to stay at this mountain home!

Outstanding rental from start to finish ! Cabin was spotless and just as described. Dealing with Vacasa was a pleasure ! I've never had questions answered so quickly and clearly. The entire process was absolutely the best we've had ! Highly recommended !!

Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The cabin is rustic and a bit worn but clean and comfortable. Beds were great! A couple of negatives. The weather was perfect for sitting on the rear deck but could not do so as there were no chair cushions. Also, a dinky 30 inch tv in this age when you can buy a 50 inch smart tv for under $300 and a 40 inch for under $200!! Also, some written instructions on accessing the available tv programming would be helpful.

The Bear's Den was a great little place to stay in Idyllwild. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The cabin was well heated with three furnaces. It was very close to town and to the hiking trails, and the hot tub was clean and warm. We will definitely stay here again!

Very clean

All good, could have had some cleaner walls, but PLENTY of bath towels and spa towels. Good toiletries, more than adequate kitchen wares. Will stay again.
P.S. sorry we didn't wash the sheets but we did wash the towels.

The property is nice. The area is amazing! Cleanliness wasn't quite to our expectations, but I will admit to being a clean freak. Spa cover ripped when we opened it. no WIFI/internet, thank you for the refund. The cabin amenities advertised are in need of upgrades. Overall, the atmosphere of the cabin made us relax from our daily stressful lives. Thank you for that! Knowing what to expect from this property we would stay again.

Tons of towels. Great hot tub. No Wi-Fi. No cable tv. DVD player 20 years old. Tv very tiny. Beds nice.

Stay was great for us however the fees were more than the actual booking which makes me never want to book through Vrbo again- probably will just stay in a hotel from now on

The property was nice but we did miss having coffee available upon arrival.

The views are nice through the broken blinds, the light outside helps comes through the windows to make up for the broken lamps. We had to buy our own salt and pepper in town. This places sleeps six but only has 3 glasses and 4 cups one severely chipped. There were ants. There was no amenities besides 3 small shampoo tubes. For fifty dollars they could go to Good Will and buy more unmatching glasses and cups.
The town is beautiful but this place is on the cheap. Unfortunately you'll pay 468 a night. Extremely disappointed in the lack of utensils, drinking glasses, shampoo, etc. There are lots of cabins to choose from I would not stay here and would not trust vacasa.

The location and snow was great! Could have been cleaner

We had so much pleasure staying at this property. It was clean and well equipped. We would suggest putting clear instructions for all the heaters as it took us a while to figure everything out. Also pay attention the volume on the tv remote is on the side of it!

Loved-cabin, 2 Bedroom, full size kitchen, nice size living room, balcony, parking for 3 cars, nice big backyard, scenic views, nice walking neighborhood, and a very quiet place.

This place has plenty of throwback charm and a great jacuzzi. The only thing that it needs is the latch on the inside of the gate to be completed to keep your dog safely secured in the yard.

A good value considering today's rental rates, nice and clean small home. No frills except a small jacuzzi in the back yard which was warm upon our arrival. As mentioned in earlier reviews, no cushions on the deck seats. Living room was spacious for our toddler to spread out his toys. The two king bedrooms would be perfect for two couples. Not the most scenic part of town, but close to the county park. Perfect for a crash pad during the work week. I would consider something with more scenery and luxuries for a weekend getaway.

The house smells badly and in description they mentioned there will be AC in the boise but a day before we are arriving we received a message that there is any AC there and celling fan in the living room was not working but thankfully they placed some fan boxes which during the hot temperature are useless. And also there is photo of outdoor furniture with cushions on it but there were not any, we called and ask for it and they responded that we never had any guests with these requests.
they communicated perfectly but sometimes without results. And there are not enough pots, pans and oven dishes in the house. Overall it was not bad experience but money wise not worth it.

Everything!!! Welll....the chairs out back could use some cushions..but other than that..super impressed!!!!

We loved the bed, the hot tub, the scenery, the peace and quiet and stars at night.

The cabin is very clean and had everything we needed .. it was a bummer when we went to the balcony and there was no umbrella or chair cushions on the chairs and the table was really dirty so we had to clean it .. also we were quite suprised the backyard was so unkept it had big weeds every and there was dog poop out there that had never been picked up possibly by a previous guest .. we did enjoy the spa it was very very clean and quite enjoyable!! When we did enter the cabin There were fans on every where which helped with the heat .. although when we checked in it took se real hours to cool the inside down . The evening did get cooler which was amazing. Overall we had an amazing weekend and loved spending time with my family !

I like the throwback feel to this cabin. I felt like I took a time machine back to the 70’s and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Nice
Loved the area. Everything was as described. However, there was a really old feeling to the building. Maintenance could have been better. The outside door was extremely squeaky. Lights didn't work in one of the bedrooms until we accidently banged on the light switch wall. Blinds were old and didn't work well but with a lot of tender coaching, they would close and open. It would have been nice to have a few more amenities in the kitchen, such as a baking pan for biscuits, salt and pepper shakers, a can opener that worked, etc. All in all, it met our needs and we enjoyed our visit to Idyllwild. The beds were super hard but that could be good or bad depending on how you like your mattresses.

Save your money, rent some where else.
My fiancé and I were very excited for this stay. Unfortunately the hot tub that you pay $40 extra a night for was filled with completely green water. The tv has one button, no way to control the volume, no working channel changers, the DVD player remote doesn’t work, AND all the dvds were all scratched and skipped. The location of this cabin is great and it’s even cute inside but the cabin had no baking sheets, foil, or scissors, no front door mat to wipe wet shoes, and mold growing on the kitchen curtains. None of the complaints from pervious renters have been addressed. A tile/ laminate in the kitchen is completely coming up from the floor in front of the sink. Oh! and at one point we thought that the bottom of the toilet was leaking water, but we investigated and it ended up being the shower that was leaking. All and all we had a lovely time in Idyllwild but we would not rent this cabin again. I will say the two things this place has going for it was the heating system and fire place.
