There were many positive features of this rental and a few negative.
Positive- dog friendly with a nice closed in pen for potty time. The kitchen and bedrooms were nice and a comfortable upstairs family/game room. The location was perfect and a quiet neighborhood.
Negative-old carpet in downstairs, open area of carpet with a trip risk, poor phone reception, TV hard to work with poor internet reception, even Netflix froze, bugs in downstairs bathroom.
The home needs deep cleaning.
Saying all of that we had fun!
The kids loved the house.

Walking distance to the lake, stores and restaurants but tucked away so evenings were quiet. The house includes just about anything you'll need for a longer stay - from puzzles and a pool table to laundry and an extra fridge. Follow the instructions to use everything from the wood burning stove to the heating system and you'll have a great stay. Property management was very responsive when we had questions, even over the holidays.

Gorgeous home located in Tahoe City. Was perfect for our group of friends who needed a small get-a-way from the city noise. Upstairs living room was perfect to hang out with pool/foosball and small island for refreshments. Beds were all comfortable. Downstairs had a perfect sized kitchen for our breakfast and dinner needs. Bathrooms were very nice, downstairs bathroom had an open roof that added a whole new vibe to showering. Hot tub was a nice touch to relax while taking in the outdoor views. Neighborhood was great and home was easy to find. Parking was easy as well. Plenty of board games to play and/or movies to watch for your stay. Had no problem getting into the property with instructions. Overall amazing stay and beautiful cabin in the woods. Would stay here again. Thank you!

Pros: Location! We loved being walking distance to one of our favorite restaurants on the lake - Sunnyside. Tahoe City a short drive south and Homewood a short drive North. Neighborhood is nice, and quiet. Kitchen equipped nicely. Fun and bright room upstairs with pool table and comfy furniture. Master bedroom was comfy.
Cons: The house wasn't the most relaxing. The carpet downstairs is VERY dirty. The downstairs is dark, and the TV is there (but we couldn't get it to work!). The hole in the ground downstairs is a danger if you have a toddler or an unaware dog (like us). Our dog fell down. I would not feel safe bringing a toddler here. The upstairs room is great -- light and bright, comfy furniture, bar and pool table - but no TV. We preferred to be in that room because downstairs felt dark and dirty but a TV up there would be nice. It was just an odd layout. Master bedroom is nice, but the other bedrooms are just so-so. We tried to use the hot tub but there was a lock on it and we could not find the code anywhere -- huge disappointment.

This is a beautiful custom home that is perfect for family celebrations. It is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Tahoe, steps from Sunnyside beach and store. It was a wonderful vacation.

Lovely escape to Tahoe
Beautiful home, lots of room, lots of charm! We enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, and games. Used the kitchen for Thanksgiving, and had everything we needed. Zero issues!

Westshore Visit
The cabin was clean and stocked with basics (clean towels, paper products, etc.) and it was made available to us according to our updated arrival time. While the cabin was nice enough, I was surprised to see that the outside grounds were minimally maintained, with piles of discarded wood and debris at the rear of the property. We had many guests drop by during the days we were at the cabin, and several guests even commented on the appearance of the exterior of the home.

Location of cabin was awesome. Cabin was very spacious. Lots of games for the kids which was much appreciated. Beds were comfy. Cabin could use some upgrades for price paid, there were stains on some comforters/mattresses. One major issue we had is main front doors with glass-if locked and you turn the knob from inside the doors would automatically unlock. We have a toddler, and he could easily walk out as there was no way to keep door secured from inside without barricading it. If you don’t have small children then this will not be a problem for you. Also, we found numerous spiders in cabin throughout our stay. Staying in the woods I’d expect to find a few, but we found several a day. Some pest control is definitely needed. Overall, we did enjoy our stay and would rate cabin 3.5 out of 5 stars, mainly bc of the spider issue.

Cute house, lots of climbing stairs
We enjoyed our stay here (family of 6 and 2 dogs). Unique house but be ready to climb stairs a lot. It wasn't as clean or luxurious as we expected at that price but management came out right away to make the place more comfortable for us. We enjoyed the hot tub. Downstairs was a little dark but the upstairs living room was really bright and comfortable. If you like super soft squishy beds, this house has that! The pull out bed upstairs was huge and very firm. We didn't use the bunk bed room. The downstairs sofa isn't the best for sleeping either but it's very big and nice for the family to relax.

The location is great and Tahoe Getaways was great to work with. The house is a tad quirky in its design that was not apparent from pictures. The room with the bunk beds was extremely uncomfortable secondary to the mattresses. Our friends daughter wound up sleeping on the couch. Couch in main living area sank in the middle so you could only sit in a couple areas.. Chairs in dining area were very rickety. House needs some major upgrades in furniture.

Great Location!
This is absolutely an amazing location. Walking distance to Sunnyside Restaurant and William Kent public beach. The house itself was clean and the management company took the necessary precautions to ensure it was clean (during COVID). One bedroom is on the ground floor which is nice, but the other two bedrooms are up, and down, several flights of steps. The newer portion of the house is so bright and sunny, the downstairs is a little dark. The hot tub worked great. TV reception was terrible, but Netflix and Wifi were perfect. Small fenced in area for the dogs to use. It was pretty exciting, one morning we had a small bear walk right through the yard! We would definitely stay there again.

Great Location
Overall this is a great property to rent! Place was clean and spacious, but a little funky, which adds to the charm. My one and only complaint was there was no counter space in the kitchen or place to really store any food because most cabinets were already full. But other than that, no other complaints. It had a great front deck and walking distance to Sunnyside and beach.

Reviewer Comments:
good time, home layout not the best--see seating pit. BBQ needs to be replaced. Should have TV on wall of upper big room---the best gathering room in the home. The instructions to wash the "old use" sheets/sheets not on beds---very strange. We washed those sheets. We won't rent a place with those req's again.

Clean, spacious, warm, and perfect location. The space upstairs for entertaining with the bar was great to talk, find some privacy if needed. The hot tub was in perfectly clean condition and was great after some long hikes. Everything was in working order. Thank you.

We really loved this cabin. The master bedroom was great along with master bathroom. There was a ton of firewood outside to use. This place is great for a large group. The only negative thing was the downstairs living room could use more light and the upstairs family room needed a TV.

We enjoyed a great week in late summer at this home. There was plenty of room for us, my parents, and our two young kids. Loved that we could bring our dogs. The house is very comfortable with lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out. It had everything we needed in term so bedding and kitchen supplies. Te location is great for access to Sunnyside and Homewood and just a quick drive to South Lake Tahoe beaches or up to Tahoe City. We would definitely come back.

Great home for a large group, we had 8 people stay in the house very comfortably! Wonderful location and beautiful home with great amenities. Only complaint is that parts of the home looked like it hadn't been dusted in a while - large cobwebs in the downstairs bathroom and along the ceilings in rooms throughout the house. Wonderful house, would highly recommend!
