This warm, secluded, and enchanting country home with breathtaking views from every window will make you think you’ve just stepped into a Currier and Ives painting. There are many nearby activities to enjoy such as water skiing, and boating, or you can fish right from the dock. A twenty minute drive will take you to the historic town of Brunswick.
The post-modern, shingle-style, 4100 square-foot house is located on Sebascodegan Island in Casco Bay on the coast of Maine. The property is situated on a totally private, secluded peninsula within the Cundy's Point Association on five-plus acres, with 2000 feet of shoreline. The house is within 50 feet of the water on all three sides. There is a private dock (tidal) which will accommodate a boat of up to 40' and a mooring is provided. To the West are open views of Quahog and Casco bays, Big Hen, Birch Island, and Yarmouth Island. To the East is Ridley Cove and the picturesque fishing village of Cundys Harbor. The International Jet Port is just 50 minutes away.
The sunrises and sunsets from this location are magnificent. There are several paths from the house through the extensive natural landscaping, perennial beds and cutting, vegetable, and herb gardens, which add charm and color all year long. The gardens extend to the sea banks; they are professionally kept and contain peonies, old-fashioned beach roses, lilacs, Asiatic lilies, dahlias, blueberries, wildflowers, lupines, rhododendrons, bayberry, hydrangeas, and foxglove.
The Living Room faces the water with direct access to the wrap-around deck through three sets of French doors and a staircase to the back gardens and deep water channel. The Living Room also has a wood burning fireplace! Directly behind the Family Room is a large, screened porch for waterfront dining and boat watching.
Upstairs there are three large bedrooms and two guest baths. There is one king-sized bed, two queen beds, two queen pull-out beds, and two twin beds. One of the bedrooms has an adjoining sitting room, which can be used as a fifth bedroom.
There is a new, fully equipped, full-sized gym located in the basement consisting of weights, a Bowflex machine, treadmill, exercise bike, and a boxing machine. Photographs will be available shortly.
The property also has a dock for tying up your boat or swimming.

If you are looking for a spacious well appointed home with all the amenities this is it! The art work and accessories were particularly impressive and complemented a lovely setting with exceptional views. The property conveys a real sense of home with easy access to great food and activities.

This beautifully appointed house is spacious, peaceful and offers breathtaking views from all windows. Perfect for lazy afternoons, kayak outings, jogs and dog walking. The kitchen and living areas accommodate fine cooking and eating. My family and dog were thrilled!

The water views at this house are incredible! So many choices where to sit and just stare at the view and all the boats You can sit on the lovely deck or sit inside the screened in area The sunsets were amazing and we actually saw a meteor shower! The house is lovely and had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 2 children We loved walking to Hawkes for Lobster It was a perfect week! Everyone had a great time!

This is a wonderful location for a peaceful visit to Maine. The house has lots of amenities that made our week extra fun - we made good use of the kayak on the calm water of the protected bay. The kitchen is well-stocked and we ate all meals on the screened porch. The house is about 20 minutes from a grocery store, but we didn’t mind and like being away from the crowds anyway.

We absolutely loved Rick's home, it was perfect for our friends and family to get away from the city and enjoy nature. We saw two bald eagles (there's a sanctuary nearby) and kayaked/paddleboarded our hearts out. The home itself is charming and has everything you would want or need; and with the windows open and fans on, it stayed comfortable even on the hot days. Rick was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. One of it not THE best place I have found on any vacation rental site.

A perfect salt waterfront home on a quiet and scenic point. The house is a lovely 4 bedroom home with three gorgeous bathrooms. It's chock full of art, antiques and sophisticated decor. There's a conversation starter in every nook and cranny. The gardens are beautiful too. Thank you; we hope to stay again!

Rick's sea house was a perfect vacation for my family, to gather, feast on lobster and reconnect. It was an amazing week. The house had everything you'd ever need and then some. We traveled during a really hot week, so the only thing missing was air conditioning, but a few fans got us through. Thanks for your hospitality and sharing your gorgeous home with us!

Lovely setting, though we wish it was a bit closer to groceries, restaurants, etc.

The water views are even better. It's too good for us ;-)

This is a delightful property that affords fantastic views, especially sunsets and easy access to water and other Maine treats. Be advised that at low tide swimming off the dock is not inviting. The kayak had a broken seat back and ruder, so it was unusable. The property needs to be monitored for trash left by previous renters - finding their stuff on the rocks, lawn is a negative. There was a big buildup of trash bags in the garage. While we did not smell it, it gives the impression that no one is on top of maintenance. Similarly, we discovered a water leak in the basement. The owner, handyman and plumber responded immediately, but again it made us wonder about maintenance. With the price tag, everything should be at 100%.

Rick is a terrific host and his home is spectacularly outfitted for the most discerning guests. My family throughly enjoyed breakfasts, dinners and late night wine indulgences with cool breezes on the screened and open porch. His chef's kitchen is fully equipped. We also enjoyed close proximity to Orrs and Bailey Islands trails and beaches. There are great near-by restaurant options such as Iris Eats (Harpswell- amazing gourmet lunch) The School House 1913 (Harpswell) and Primo (Rockland). All in all it was wonderful getaway week. Thank you, Rick!

We truly enjoyed our mid-August stay in this beautiful house, located on an amazingly picturesque point of land. The lovely dock is handy to use to tie up the available kayak and canoe, swim from or sit and read and gaze at the water. Ridley Cove is well protected, perfect for small boats and paddle boards, but not far from open water. The gardens and back deck of the home were lovely, and the home itself was beautifully furnished and elegantly decorated and cozy all at the same time. We spent lots of time on the screened porch enjoying the changing scenery and sunsets on the water! The home and especially the kitchen were very well stocked so we cooked sometimes and also enjoyed take out and meals in the area (Cook's and the Dolphin were favorites). The Sonos linked sound system was a plus for us as well. We highly recommend Wild Oats Bakery in Brunswick for bread, salads, and sweets; Flight Deck Brewing for pizzas; and Holbrooks just down the road for lobster and steamers. Brunswick was a great town to explore and also for buying groceries and stuff. We enjoyed day trips, including to Camden (visit the gardens near the library) and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens! Ash Cove Pottery and Lands End were good for local gifts. Rick's home is quite private and near a bald eagle sanctuary so we all felt so relaxed there and close to nature. Rick and his local team were always friendly, helpful, and gracious during our 2-week stay. Just an absolutely delightful and perfect stay at this enchanting home - highly recommended!

We loved our time at this property. Rick is a consummate host- every detail covered, every question answered quickly. Between the location, the lovely appointed house and and the ease of having everything provided (and then some), it made our time away one of the most relaxing in a long while. We highly recommend a stay here!

Quiet, majestic, comfortable, spacious home. Kitchen is equipped to the max. The layout is perfect for all family/friends to spread out, enjoy indoor (games, movies, map charts) and outdoor activities (kayaking, swimming, lounging).
Rick is a wonderful host, providing lots of information pre-and during the stay.
Thank you for the hospitality!

Absolutely lovely
The location is beautiful, the house is amazing - it’s like staying with your wealthy aunt who has provided for everything. We swam a lot, the only problem is getting out of the water over mud and rocks is difficult. Kayaking is great, as is paddle-boarding. Morning, afternoon, and evening sun, sunrises and sunsets from the property. Loved it.

Maximalist Beauty in Surroundings Inside and Out
Rick was the consummate host, providing all the information we needed in advance and during the stay, as well as a welcoming bottle of champagne. He went out of the way to accommodate a member of our party with mobility issues. The house was spotless when we arrived, with gardens in full bloom and a perfect Maine waterfront location with Adirondack chairs at the water's edge, a screened porch for the mosquito-shy, and a huge deck with comfortable furniture. The kitchen was the best equipped I've ever seen in a rental, from the Viking range to the Le Creuset pans, and the two dishwashers made cleanup for our party of six very easy. The house itself is lovingly appointed in a maximal style -- many lovely paintings, a telescope, porcelains, objets d'art, collector's pieces and comfortable, attractive furniture abound. We liked seeing the nautical charts of the area in the hall to gain insight to our geographic surroundings and giggle at some of the place names. There was a whole closetful of games and puzzles which were perfect for the screened porch and building on the rare rainy day. There were thoughtfully supplied lap-rugs and throws in every room to help with the variable Maine temperatures, and a working fireplace with plenty of firewood. We explored the neighboring areas and recommend a sail on the Schooner Alert out of Bailey Island and a visit to the Giant's Steps. The only issue we found with the house was the bottom step of the staircase, which is wider than the rest of the steps and tends to catch ankles if one turns sharply down the hall.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would definitely return!

A week of blissful relaxation by the sea
We abandoned our ambitious plans to explore surrounding areas because nobody wanted to leave the beautiful house and its views. The screened-porch was our favorite gathering place for coffee, informal meals and games. At night we met in the comfortable room with the stunning TV and streamed movies. We hope to return and highly recommend this unique home to others.

A beautiful private house with a gorgeous view.
It didn’t feel like a rental! A beautiful house with large bathrooms, and bedrooms. Very well stocked! All the doors and windows had screens so the house was wonderfully airy. The screened in porch was price-less. Rick was so generous. He let us use the gym in the basement and the house came with water sports equipment! The house has a gorgeous view and is very private!

What a stunningly beautiful home!
Everything was perfect. Our family stay was very enjoyable. The property is beautiful and the house is spacious and comfortable. Every room is appointed perfectly. The views from every room were exceptional especially the kitchen window looking out on the water. We also enjoyed the screened porch which looks out over the beautiful landscaping and the water. Thanks so much for a wonderful family vacation in your special house.

A beautiful, quiet waterfront getaway
Our stay at Oakey Point could not have been better. The house is spacious, welcoming, and lovingly decorated. Our every need was thoughtfully provided for by Rick who is a gracious and responsive host. The property is breathtaking, and we took full advantage of the water, both being out in the canoe and paddleboards and also enjoying it from the beautiful patio and screened porch. The kitchen is a dream, and with its view of the cove, meal prep and clean up still felt like vacation!
We loved getting to know Cundy's Harbor and exploring everything beautiful and delicious that greater Harpswell had to offer. The location also places you within an easy drive to Portland, Bath, Camden and many other lovely towns. Our time there was idyllic and will remain a happy and treasured memory for us all.

This elegant and beautifully decorated home surpasses all expectations of a vacation cottage and provided ample space and privacy for a two-family reunion, eight adults altogether. A highlight of the stay was a visit by bald eagles from a nearby sanctuary. Rick is a gracious host who is quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions for dining and activities.

This Southern family loves Harpswell
Well what a pleasure was to stay in your beautiful home Rick. My family is all around the Casco Bay Area so to be able to find such an amazing home with a dock for our boat was such a blast. We island hopped daily. Most of our extended family choose to lounge at Rick's home because is was so comfortable. Swimming, boating, paddle boarding, fishing we did it all. The weather was perfect and I have no words to describe the sunsets.
The house is furnished beautifully. The linens were high end to say the least.
We loved our time in Harpswell and would recommend this house highly.
Thank you for the 5 star treatment Rick!

The Great Escape
Truly a one-of-a-kind escape to sophisticated peace and quiet. Three generations enjoyed this very comfortable, well appointed, well built, beautiful home on a quiet wooded peninsula of Cundy's Harbor. The row boat and the kayak offered a unique opportunity to get out on the water and to explore the area. The large kitchen and dining room allowed wonderful family dinners and game nights. (Oh, and the kids and working adults appreciated great WiFi!). It was very obvious that a great effort was made to cover every detail to make out stay comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Fantastic Maine coastal getaway!
Our family spent a week at this gorgeous home and loved every minute. The house is beautiful and comfortable with water views on all sides. Private and remote in feel but only a 5 minute walk to one of the best lobster shacks around. Adirondack chairs on the point for reading. Lovely patio to watch the sunsets. Dock for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. The owner Rick answered every question within minutes. He also gave us some great local tips. I didn't want to leave!

All the way, from responsive interaction, to wood for the fire, to a beautiful, crisp, clean, and eclectically decorated home. An excellent way for us to spend graduation week with family.

Lovely Waterfront
We stayed a week at this lovely house on a beautiful plot of land. Highlights were: kayaking and canoeing around the point, watching the Perseid meteor shower from the dock, enjoying sunset from the Adirondack chairs, and exploring the Brunswick area. The kitchen is fully equipped and the caretaker, Dan, was extremely helpful. I would think twice about bringing small children – there are a lot of breakables around, but aside from that we recommend it highly.

Family was 2 grandparents (1 in a wheelchair), 3 adult children, 2 grand daughters (5 & #0), 1 dog
This property has everything one could ask for......a great dock which includes a lg. canoe, 2 man sea kayak, great access to water, beautiful views & sunsets. In addition to beautiful landscaping, the home afforded plenty of room w/ a wonderful deck and screened in porch. The high end kitchen allows one to cook like a gourmet and has every appliance and equipment you would want. As for wheelchair access, there is a long wooden ramp attached to the back deck which makes for easy access to the home and once in the home, there is easy mobility throughout the interior. The surrounding area is great and the town of Brunswick has much to offer. We recommend this property unconditionally.

Wonderful place for holidays
We chose this vacation rental based on the beautiful photos and video posted on VRBO. The home is more extraordinary. All members of our family were most impressed with the special details put into this home. All of the amenities are top notch. The water views are exceptional from all rooms in the home. The owners have provided everything you need while relaxing in their home. We enjoyed cooking and the fine garden with herbs. Do not hesitate to rent this vacation paradise, you will not be disappointed.

Paradise!
This home is a little piece of paradise! Tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable with plenty of room but what really made it standout was the views from all sides of the house, which is perched on a peninsula. Water, water everywhere from every window! The location is great - easy access to Brunswick's great shops, restaurants and galleries and pretty close to the Freeport outlets and other interesting Maine coast towns.
The house itself has great flow for both relaxing and entertaining. On a chilly night, we sat around the cozy fireplace. There's also a screened porch where we had cocktails and dinner while gazing at the sunset. And there's even a dock for boating and swimming! The owner has thought of everything: fluffy towels, luxurious bed linens, a fully equipped kitchen -- all which helped make our stay extremely enjoyable. Would love to return this summer!

Summer Vacation
This house was perfect for our family and friends! The house is very clean, each room was large and nicely decorated. The house was well stocked with linens and kitchenware needed during the stay. The bedrooms were fantastic and very comfortable .
From its beautiful and private location , to its views (watching the sunrise up over water in and trees and the sunset on the ocean from the back was really spectacular), this property truly is wonderful beyond words. We hope to return one day

Simply spectacular
I fell in love with Cundy's Harbor many years ago when visiting a friend who was living there. The charming little village is quintessential Maine, and though it is secluded and unspoiled, it is also very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and for touring the coastal region. This house is truly magnificent, but not in a pretentious way, decorated in excellent taste, with no detail overlooked. The kitchen is a chef's dream, the rooms are spacious, and every room has water views. The private setting makes you feel you are in your own little world. Unlike many vacation rentals, this a truly a home, with warmth and personality.

Idyllic setting indeed
We spent 3 weeks at this lovely home and it was one of the most serene settings we have ever experienced. The location could not be more beautiful and the peace & quiet is incomparable. The people in the small community it is located in were very friendly and to watch the local lobstermen was fascinating. Being very close to Brunswick with all of its restaurants and Bowdoin College influence is another big bonus. Our family, friends and dogs had a tremendous vacation here with all the relaxation or activity one would choose. This is the quintessential Maine vacation - pines, rocky coast, beautiful inlets and peace and quiet. A very well maintained property and spacious house with owner and caretaker eager to make sure the guests were happy.

Spectacular luxury home at Cundy's Harbor
This is a beautifully kept home on a property with quintessential Maine waterfront scenery. The photos are accurate, but don't really convey the true beauty of the house and property. The kitchen and gas grill are high-end appliances; the home furnishings are warm and inviting. Unlike many rental properties which are devoid of personal touches, this home is filled with collectibles and art work. This may not meet all tastes, but we found it to add warmth and personality to the house. Dan, the caretaker, was responsive when the propane tank ran empty on the grill, and he was helpful in offering suggestions on where to buy fresh lobster.
We spent a week here leading up to Commencement at nearby Bowdoin College, and found the location of this property to be convenient. We found the 18-20 minute trip to-and-from campus to be easily done multiple times during the week, and also were able to get in a day trip back to Acadia. After four years of staying in various locations in and around Brunswick, this home has an ideal combination of spaciousness, luxury and location. Although we no longer have a student at Bowdoin, and therefore nothing drawing us specifically back to the Brunswick area, we will not hesitate to stay again when we return to the Maine coast.

Paradise in Maine
This house and property are absolutely AMAZING. This is a beautiful and peaceful place for a vacation! The water views from almost every window was breathtaking; even the garage had a nice view. The house was wonderful, it had a very homey welcoming feel to it with very interesting art and antiques throughout. We felt like we were visiting a friend and not in a vacation house. The house is equipped with every modern convenience needed; chef's kitchen was spectacular. My husband and I, who are both foodies, had a wonderful time cooking; the viking range is just like the ones you find at top notch restaurants. We enjoyed, bike riding, walking out to the dock and sitting by the water, and had a great time when we took the canoe out for a little adventure. The owner left information on where to eat, shop, and most importantly, where to get lobsters! We thought that was super thoughtful gesture! Can't wait to go back to this magical place!!!

An annual retreat that we look forward to without fail
My husband and I have been to Cundy's harbor many times, and have stayed in other houses but this is without a doubt the best place if you can get it! The location is incredible, with views that do not disapoint. We enjoy using the bikes to ride all over the island and into town, though walking is wonderful as well as sitting on the deck enjoying the sounds of the boats, birds and peace. The house has a fantastic gourmet kitchen with room to cook and eat and enjoy. Everything you need is there from the large lobster pot to baking pans if you are so inclined. This house has room for plenty to enjoy privacy and still get together for meals and communing by the fireplace. It has a TV but really, this is like our own luxury camp and we enjoy kicking back and enjoying nature. The wireless system lets you keep in touch with the outside as you need, so this has the best of it all. We will return next year without a doubt!

Beautiful Cundy's Harbor
This home is beyond lovely, the amenities divine, and the surrounding scenery is so picturesque it only gets better with each turn you take. My husband and I stayed with our 6 yr old son, who loved walking down to the water to skip stones, sit on the dock, and cast some lines for fishing. It is a perfect spot for relaxing and taking in the quiet sounds of nature, enjoying the fresh seafood from right there in the water, and strolling around the neighboring areas. The home is quiet, spacious, well-kept with a classy sense of country style, and it's all only a short walk to general, local town shops and eateries and just a few minutes drive to fabulous local shopping, more great Maine eating, and all kinds of artisan boutiques and historic venues.
If I could move to this home on Cundy's Harbor I would in a heartbeat, though I completely understand the owner never wanting to give it up. The home is splendidly appointed and maintained with all conveniences imaginable. The views are outstanding, and I spent much of my time communing with nature in the garden, on the patio, and through the lens of my SLR -- the scenery does not disappoint and I have so many photos of exquisite sunsets I can't decide which to frame for my home. Just looking at them makes we want to go back sooner rather than later. We will certainly return, again and again!
