About this house rental
WE REQUIRE A SATURDAY - TO - SATURDAY, 7-NIGHT STAY DURING THE PEAK SUMMER SEASON (MID-JUNE THROUGH MID-SEPTEMBER)!
Enjoy our great lakehouse for waterfront patio BBQs, lawn games, socializing and entertaining, plus the beautiful panoramic view of Chautauqua Lake from the all-windows main sun room/living area, plus the convenience of a short walk or bike ride to the heart of Bemus Point and all its charm!
Our cottage has 5 bedrooms (one with bunk beds for the kids, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, one with a queen and 2 sets of twin bunks, and a master with a king). Additionally, the sun room has a pull-out twin bed, and there's also a twin daybed with twin trundle in the game bungalow (game bungalow has A/C for summer use, but no heat). We have 4 full bathrooms - one with a stand-up shower and 3 with a bathtub/shower. Central heat and central air conditioning provide year-round comfort.
The fully-stocked open kitchen/dining area offers all of the cooking and food prep equipment and space you would need. Our two indoor dining tables seat up-to 14. The dock offers easy access to fishing and swimming, and an open boat slip with pilings for docking your boat. There is plenty of outdoor furniture, including an outdoor dining table with umbrella, adirondack deck chairs, a full hammock, and a single swing hammock. The summer game bungalow is one of our renters’ favorites – a place to escape to play foosball, darts, or one of the many board games stocked in the cottage. The game bungalow is a perfect bedroom/retreat for pre-teens or teens during their vacation. We keep the house stocked with lawn games and Schwinn cruiser bikes for our renters to use also.
A small, stackable washer-dryer is available. There is off-street parking for up-to 4 cars, plus street-side overflow parking 1 block away.
1/8 mile from the cottage is Bridgeview -- a mini-mart/gas station/liquor-n-beer shop/small deli -- which provides absolute convenience.
Bemus Point and Chautauqua Lake offer unlimited all-year-round vacation activities, attractions, fun and natural beauty for everyone. In the village of Bemus Point you’ll find restaurants, live music venues, boutique gift shops and every land and water recreation you can imagine. The See Zurh House offers family-friendly casual fare; The Fish offers sunset views and great casual and formal dining; Capolo’s pizza shop has delivery service to the cottage, and the Bemus Point Inn is great for breakfast. The best place to enjoy a casual cocktail is from one of the famous colorful rocking chairs on the front porch of the historic Lenhart Hotel – order a “Lenhart Rocker” and watch the sunset. Ellicottville Brewery and the Bemus Point Tap House are great places to enjoy craft beers and pub food. Live music can be enjoyed from several of the venues noted above, or at The Village Casino, home of world-famous chicken wings. These are just a few of many great options in the area.
Enjoy a 9-hole round of golf at Bemus Point Golf Club, access to public tennis courts, or take a bike ride along Lakeside Drive to Long Point State Park. Grab a picnic lunch or an ice cream treat from the Bemus Point Market before you go. When you return spend some time browsing through the many unique shops within the village including The Lakeside Shoppe, Skillman's, and Imagine. Take the kids to the playground at the Village Park or to the public beach.
If you’re itching to get out on the water, power boats, pontoons, paddle boards and jet skis can be rented from several local vendors. In addition, some famous local attractions include the world-renowned Victorian lakeside community of Chautauqua Institution which offers arts and education programming and a variety of cultural classes and events all summer. Historic Midway Park is the 15th oldest, continually operating amusement park in the nation and is perfectly geared for the 5-10 year-old crowd. Spring and fall offer great hunting and hiking opportunities for outdoorsy types, and magnificent views of the lake and leaves! Winter offers ice fishing, sledding, access to thousands of miles of snowmobile trails, and area skiing at Holiday Valley or Peek n' Peak.
We do not allow pets or smoking - WE DO NOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. We promise a very clean environment, and conveniently provide linens and towels for our visitors’ use.

This was our third trip here. Location is great & well-stocked, owner very responsive to questions & issues. I do think that some minor improvements could be made to accommodate Seniors—grab bars, etc. but overall great stay as usual!!

We had a wonderful stay over the long holiday weekend. The house was well stocked and there were so many games and activities at the house. The house was just a short distance away from many lake activities and the downtown area. We would definitely recommend to to others and come back.

This property is in an ideal location tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. The house is perfect for a large group and the open layout of the kitchen makes it awesome for everyone to hang out together.
Lisa was super responsive to any questions we had and we can't wait to go back next year!

Fun stay and great place. Still a bit too cool for water activities, but over all good location. There is plenty of space and the kitchen was well equipped.

Beautiful place for a large group! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and the kitchen was perfect for everyone to gather in! Having bumper pool right in the kitchen was a big hit! Truly enjoyed our stay!

Our family of 14 spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at this house. This house fit us perfectly, from the sleeping arrangements, to turkey dinner, to all of us gathered together in the living room to watch sports and Hallmark Christmas movies! This house was more spacious than the pictures depict. We also had game nights and walked to town to check out the shops. The owner was quick to respond to questions. Fantastic place!

Great place for our reunion - rooms were very comfy and enjoyed playing some of your board games. The area is beautiful and what a way to wake up -- the lake view was fantastic!

Great home for a group get away. Nice to find a place that actually seats the entire group at dining table and in living area (we were a group of 8). Beautiful location with great views. Also, had everything you need for a getaway from home, no need to bring anything other than food, clothing, fishing gear and camera.

Clean, organized, exactly as described and shown on the VRBO website. Our host answered all of my questions quickly and clearly- we are considering a stay at this property next September. We have stayed in many properties over the years- this was the best I have seen. And the per night rate- awesome!! Highly recommended.

This property and location had everything we could have ever wanted or needed. The house was spacous and well maintained. This was by far the best house we have stayed in at Chautauqua Lake. My son ( age 6) loved fishing off the dock and fished sun up to sun down. He caught so much fish this trip he feed us all week. There was ample parking for the trailers and trucks. The location to Bemus was perfect for the park, resturants, and ice cream. We made soo many memories here my family is begging to return this fall.

Our family absolutely loved this house and the owner was VERY accommodating! Would highly recommend to anyone planning a getaway to Chautauqua Lake! Our family of 12 felt right at home and had more than enough room. Plenty of activities to do for some family members that prefer not to fish and was centrally located to all of the hot spots that my family fishes regularly. Looking to make an annual tradition to this property!!! Overall 10 out of 10 rating!

My friends and I did a fall girls' weekend getaway and this was the perfect place! There were 5 of us and we were able to have a bedroom to ourselves -- plenty of room for additional guests to share rooms however. We were really impressed with the kitchen and how well-stocked it was. We brought pre-made meals that only needed to be reheated but we definitely could have cooked there -- it really has everything you need!
The home was clean and well-organized. It sits about 20 steps from the water so the scenery was beautiful from sunrise to sunset. I only had 2 questions for the owner and she replied very quickly with thorough answers. I would 100% book a return stay, it was an excellent experience!

The house was amazing. There were 10 of us and we had more than enough room. The views were spectacular. The house was everything you would want for your stay. The house location was near many area attractions which made it very easy. Thank you Lisa for sharing your home with us. We would definitely rent from you again.

We all had a relaxing time & especially enjoyed the beautiful views from the panoramic windows which faced Chautauqua Lake.

House is large, spacious, and very clean. You really need to bring nothing except your personal belongings. Large kitchen table where 10 of us could have dinner comfortably at the same time. The beds ,towels ,linens ,and beach towels provided were high-quality and very nice. The dock could hold my boat with no issues. The water quality of the lake however has a lot to be desired. It has been a dry warm summer but the algae in the bay at the cottage really spoiled swimming. One could not see more than 6 inches though the water in the bay where the cottage is. That was very disappointing. The neighbors at the cottage were very warm and friendly. I have stayed on Lake Chautauqua in the past . The water Quality on the deeper side of the lake is better.

Lovely house in a perfect location. Loved the dock going into the lake. Lots of fishing and swimming to be had. We also rented Kayaks from Bemus Point Water Toys. Would definitely recommend this house and the owners were very responsive and easy to work with.

This was our first stay at Chautauqua lake but probably not our last. Our three grown children and their spouses and two grandsons join us every year for a long weekend to just have family time together. We enjoyed this house because it was not only beautiful on a beautiful setting but convenient to home which kept our traveling time minimal (less than 2 hours for all of us ). The number of bathrooms made for such a nice setup for our family ! Each couple had their own space and plenty of together spaces inside and out! My kids all enjoyed the games and bikes and we brought kayaks to use too. The fire pit was nice with enough chairs for everyone! The house was well equipped with all the usual things we needed. Beds were very comfortable as were the family room furniture. We would definitely stay at this house again if our plans to return in the future workout! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us!

This house is a real Jem. It was perfect for the family get away. We did a lot of fishing. Caught most of our big yellow bellies right of the dock and about 150 foot out from dock. The walleye was caught out in front of the Casino restaurant. It was only a 4 day trip, but are looking forward to many more.

From the moment I booked the house to the time we checked, our experience was exceptional! The property owners were very responsive to our questions and made the process seamless! The house was huge and had plenty of space for our family. The backyard and view of the lake was also awesome! I do not have a single complaint - everything was perfect!

This house was fantastic! It was one of the best I have ever stayed at with my 7 friends. As ladies we appreciated the mirrors, all the hooks for jackets, towels, the electrical outlets and the wine frig.
The firepit and all the chairs around it was great for sitting around at night. The house was conveniently located close to restaurants and shopping. The town of Bemus Point was wonderful.
I used to drive the area to work and always wanted to stay at one of the houses under the bridge. Now that is off my bucket list!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us.

We all loved the house. Everything we needed was there for our use. The location was beautiful, right on the lake. I got to sleep with the windows open and could hear the waves. The house could not have been more inviting.

This was our 9th yr for our mother and daughter weekend and our 3rd yr for this place. Lisa has made this place comfortable and cozy, she has an excellent cleaning person. Being on the Lake is Heaven, and good for the soul. Hoping to do Our Weekend here again next year.

The house was big and roomy. There were 3 bedrooms downstairs and two up stairs. There were four couples and there was plenty space and seating. There was a great deck for enjoying the weather and water. Great location for shopping, museums and exploring. It is not wheelchair Accessible

This house was perfect for my extended families annual getaway. We had kids ranging from 5 to teens and all enjoyed our stay. The location and views can’t be beat. I loved having coffee on the top deck and watching the sunrise over the lake. This beautiful house was just perfect with plenty of beds and bathrooms for our big group! We look forward to returning next year!

Our group enjoyed our stay on Chautauqua Lake at this lake house. The lakefront lawn and fire pit were enjoyed all weekend, and the dock worked out well for our boat. The house was well stocked and super clean, and had more than enough room for everyone to find their own space. This house was ideal for us!

Some of the towels were threadbare. It took 2 hours to get the main tv to work. The directions were lousy. Most of us didn't want to waste the time trying to use the other tvs. There were Too many bunk beds in lower floor bedroom, would be better off with a queen bed. The room was too uncomfortable for older adults. The coffee pot kept quitting whenever someone would use the microwave . We had to move it & plug it in to a totally different outlet. This may be a possible fire hazard for future renters. We thought the 10am checkout was extremely early. Most places have an 11am checkout.

We had a large family group encompassing a variety of ages. The place was clean and comfortable. The views were special and a rental pontoon boat offered more enjoyment of the lake. We had a sliding door issue that needs to be addressed but we worked around that. Overall it was a fun week and we would recommend it as a great vacation option.

Our family stayed here after a rare flooding of the area. The owner was great at communicating with us the entire time and we managed to keep our booking. The house is clean, loads of games and dishes, great location on the lake. The water was calm and the area around the dock wasn’t too deep. Our two six year olds could touch although they still wore jackets. Bemus is a cute little town and it’s only 1 hour and 40 minutes from Niagara Falls! We spent the day there. The owners were very kind, honest and cared about our family vacation. Highly recommend this place!

This is such a fun, beautiful vacation place. There are so many amenities, fun games, bikes and puzzles. It’s a beautiful view, great location and relaxing. I highly recommend this property.

We had a fantastic time staying here! The house was better than we expected as the rooms were spacious and so clean! The amenities were wonderful and the view is gorgeous!
