About this house rental
During Covid-19, we are scheduling guests 72 hours apart to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests as recommended by the World Health Organization until future notice. Rincon Lodge is located just east of historic Durango, Colorado (approx 15-20 min) where you can enjoy countless seasonal activities such as golfing, horseback riding, river rafting, shopping, dining, and world-class hunting & fishing. Also nearby are Mesa Verde National Park, the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge railroad, two ski areas (Durango Mountain Resort and Wolf Creek Ski Area), and natural healing hot spring spas. Built in 1995-1996, the lodge itself is a magnificent 6,500 square foot custom log home with expansive wrap-around decks offering views of the majestic La Plata Mountains, the Florida Mesa, and abundant wildlife. Open floor plans, cathedral ceilings, and soaring windows provide views of deer, elk, and wild turkey seen almost daily year-round. Inside the lodge, seven bedrooms will accommodate up to 20 guests with room for more upon request. The main floor has three full-size sofas as well as additional seating for comfortable relaxation and is situated around a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning river rock fireplace with satellite television and a DVD/VCR. Several entryways provide access to covered decks with panoramic views. Private bedrooms include shared full baths and another half bath with shower just around the corner. The dining area and kitchen on the main floor feature a teak dining table easily seating ten people with additional leafs for expansion. A massive elk antler chandelier adorns the area. The custom kitchen and center island features solid granite countertops, a six burner gas range, double ovens, and everything else even the most discerning gourmet cook will appreciate. The center island provides casual seating. The mudroom offers a full-size washer and dryer, a full upright freezer, and a large open pantry. The lower living area also has a full-size sofa and chair seating around a second river rock fireplace and a big screen satellite television with DVD/VCR. It hosts four private bedrooms including a kids "Camp Room" and one shared full bath. Two entryways provide access to covered patios.
Take the log staircase to the upper level and you will find the master suite complete with a rustic aspen log frame king-size bed and two private decks with views that will take your breath away. The master bath has a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, double vanity, and a spacious walk-in closet that includes an extra sleeping area with futon, a ping pong table, or a secluded place to just be alone with your thoughts and relax. This property does NOT have a hot tub. Accommodations total two king-size beds, two queen-size beds, one full-size bed, 2 twin beds, 2 sets of bunk bed, and futon sleepers. Radiant in-floor heating is accented by oak hardwoods, carpet, slate, and saltillo tile. There are ceiling fans and portable fans in every room. This house was designed without central air, because of its altitude! ***In conjunction with the Lodge for larger parties, the Guesthouse will sleep 4 comfortably. Situated as a studio apartment or 'mother-in-law' quarters above the 3 car garage, it offers the same stupendous views and peaceful settings as the Lodge, located approximately 60 yards directly north. The Guesthouse rents separately from the Lodge at $1750 week or $250 per night plus tax/cleaning. It has a king and queen bed, sofa, tv, full kitchen, shower, washer/dryer. If you do not need to rent the guesthouse based on a smaller group, we will not rent it to another family during your stay! It will just remain closed. No one will be on the property but your party during your stay. Located at 7487', the fully fenced 76 acres of ponderosa and juniper pine-covered ground around the Lodge offer endless nature trail hiking, snowshoeing, snow sledding, mountain biking, picnicking, barbecuing, horseshoes, and a ski run in the winter months to keep busy during your stay. We provide snow plowing for you to check in and out of the lodge only. If you require additional plow services, you can call our plow guy or someone else to plow you out at your expense. Complimentary wireless internet throughout the property. Because many people ask, we do NOT have a hot tub on the property. There are spas and a recreation center in town that have tubs and spa services. RINCON LODGE has something for everyone! With its spaciousness, unmatched beauty, and peaceful surroundings, it is an ideal vacation spot for family and school reunions, executive corporate retreats, and even small weddings. Our big family had a wonderful time. The huge covered porch is amazing!

This is a great house for a large group. Plenty of comfy beds, clean and full stocked for cooking. Toys for young kids and spaces for teens. Porch has a million dollar view. Lots of wildlife. We would rent again.

The lodge was perfect for our family get together. There was plenty of space for everyone to either be together or find their own spaces to chill. The deck view was breathtaking. The kitchen was the most equipped kitchen I have ever stayed in. Three full size refrigerators. The driveway was a bit scary at first. Since it was June we didn't have a problem needing the four wheel drive on our vehicle but it could be an issue for sure. We brought our own JBL speaker to play music off our phones and with the high ceilings sounded great, Kimberly always got right back to me with my questions answered. One always wonders what a property would be like with only seeing a few pictures. Rincon Lodge exceeded my expectations.

This is a wonderful property that comfortably houses 20 people. Driving to hiking areas can be over an hour, but staying here is well worth this.

Fit our family great.
Some kitchen drawers were a bit dirty as well as some pantry casserole dishes.

This beautiful
Home is truly exactly what the pictures show. It sits high and has amazing views. The home is stocked well and a great place for large gatherings. Truly easy to bring your food and prepare wonderful meals. Beds were comfortable and nice to have all the space to spread out. I can definitely see why people would enjoy the summer months here too. The driveway is steep and we were thankful there was not much ice or snow - so no problem for us getting to the house with 4 wheel drive and All Wheel drive.
The host was extremely good with quick response before and during our stay. We love to ski - and this was a comfortable spot to spend our relaxing evenings. We will definitely go back. We knew there was not a hot tub- that was the ONLY thing I think that could be added to make this place the perfect spot. There is a HUGE soaker tub in the master - but truly not everyone got the use of that after a long day on the slopes.
We WILL be back - even if a hot tub is not added!

This is a beautiful cabin. The owners were very responsive when we ran into a little problem.

Great location (though a bit off the beaten track) and beautiful views. Owner and caretaker super responsive and helpful!. Holding off on a 5 star as noted the house currently doesn't have HVAC. We rolled the dice but the time of year we stayed is iffy on heat/cooling via windows. Was mostly ok for us but if you have heat senstive people could be an issue though owner indicated that upgrade might be in the way.

This property is one of a kind! I recently held a family reunion at Rincon Lodge and it was fantastic.
Large enough to hold a big group, it has everything you need to make a comfortable and memorable stay. They even had a wheelchair ramp for one of our disabled guests. Kimberly was a delight to work with, as were her property managers.
We were able to do a group ride on Durango's narrow gauge railroad train, a zipline experience for the younger set and a jeep ride to the top of La Plata Canyon. Everyone left with special memories of Durango and Rincon Lodge!

The property is beautiful with a spectacular view day and night. There was plenty of room and things to do for all 13 of us ranging in ages from 77 to 3 year old. The house was well stocked and felt like living in a home as there were toys and games in the closets. The owner and her manager were responsive to all questions and concerns.

The best verbo property I’ve ever reserved!
Soo roomy soo homey so equipped with everything one might need in the kitchen and the most beautiful views in Colorado!
Beds were all excellent, patio furniture very comfortable. Toys for the children and sleds for the snow. Plenty of room to roam, walk and explore. I can’t say enough good things about this home. If it were for sale I’d buy it.
We had 4 generations of family from the 70s to 3yrs and a total of 19 it could not have been a more wonderful time. Highly recommend this lovely home.

Vacation rentals are sometimes a little tricky for our large family (24) but this home is PERFECT! Check in was smooth, host response was almost immediate, EVERYTHING was provided from wood for fireplace to extra toilet paper! Every spice you can imagine, any cookware you might need—home was spotless & smelled great, too. All beds are comfortable & there are even toddler/ pre school toys!! Books are placed all over the house, but the ability to separate was great! Each floor (3) had a gathering place as well as @least one bedroom! The view was magnificent from every window. If you stay in the winter, you will need 4 wheel drive, there is no way to tell even with 3-D mapping, but the driveway is tricky. We sledded down it & one of us even skied down it!
There are sleds & toboggans in the garage.. we have rented multiple vacation homes, & this is the first time we were allowed garage parking.
I’m pretty sure the next time we are all going together, availability of this home will determine our travel dates! It’s our favorite & Kimberly can’t be beat!! It could just be a southern CO thing, but everyone was so helpful. Kimberly (host), Leti (housekeeper), & Titus (snow removal) ALL went above & beyond what was expected & for sure above what was required!

This house has it all. We stayed over the New Years Eve. The vies are amazing, you need 4x 4 to get on the top of the mountain but the mountain serves as a sledding spot as well, there are some sleds in the garage, the kids had a blast. Plenty of dishes of all kids, pots, pens, utensils, baking supplies, cannot not name it all. Outside grill, inside fireplace with fire wood provided. The game room upstairs has a lot of space for kids and teenagers to hangout with multiple beds and linens provided. There is no one bad thing I can say about this property, will definitely stay there again in the summer or fall

We had the most amazing Christmas at Rincon Lodge. The house was beautiful. The beds we're very comfortable. Everything was clean. The kids had fun exploring the property. The host went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. . We will definitely return.

This property exceeded our expectations. The home, the views, the property, amenities, everything was thought of. Kimberly is so sweet we had a comfortable place and the kids had so much fun. Best Christmas ever. We will think of this place in the future.

Responsive and accommodating properly manager. The house is super large and perfect for families and groups. Tremendous views from spacious decks and large property. It’s always nice to walk into a rental kitchen and see a wide variety of spices. And, the stars at night - wow! Note the 8th bedroom in the main house is the same room with the ping pong table. You share a bathroom with the big king bedroom and you have to walk thru the king bedroom to go downstairs. No privacy for whoever has the upstairs king bedroom if someone is sleeping in the game room. Some minor irritants - neither of the ice makers were working, we had to fix a broken dishwasher rack, and there were signs of mice.

Your house is beautiful and perfectly laid out for large groups. We put all the teenagers in the basement and the adults upstairs- grandparents in the attached mother-in-law apartment. Everyone had the best time and want to come back every year. We used the house as base camp and went white water rafting, road the Silverton train, explored the town, restaurants, fish hatchery, and toured Mesa Verde. This was a favorite vacation! The house is well stocked, beds comfortable, sheets and towels plush and comfortable. We had a ton of rain and storms and a huge rainbow from the deck every afternoon. It was beautiful! What an amazing property! Plus, my husband met the property managers and was impressed by how kind and helpful they were. Thanks so much for opening your home to us!

Spectacular
This place is a ten star home. The views are trendies and everything was just as advertised. Very cozy to just hang out and enjoy family time or plenty of room to roam and look at nature. Just a short 25 minute drive to town. This is our second stay and won’t be our last at this home. Thanks Kim for being such an awesome host and making sure everything was good for us. You are a great person. Until next year.

I am now living with 2 of my 4 children in Minneapolis, and the other two with their families are in California. We met for a reunion in the beautiful mountain top retreat Rincon Lodge in Durango, Co. The place was clean, very well appointed, and spacious for our family for our 4-day Thanksgiving vacation. I think everybody would gladly stay there again.

Because we are spread out across the country, the purpose of our trip was to get together and spend time with our adult children, their spouses, and our young grandchildren. We could not have imagined better accommodations! Although there were enjoyable day trips into Durango and surrounding areas, most of our time was spent on the property. The kitchen/pantry had everything we needed and more! Eating all our meals on the wrap around porch was delightful. The bedrooms were comfortable. The playground and horseshoe pit were a lot of fun and the sunsets were beautiful. One of our group set up a telescope and
we were able to view the rings of Saturn! We had a wonderful time at Rincon Ridge.

This house is perfect for a large group - we have 4 families, plenty of rooms to spread out, just wish there are more bathroom on the lowest level since there are 4 bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom, but we manage with 4 total bathrooms. Kitchen is well stocked. The view from the property is excellent. Kimberly (owner) is very responsive and answered all my questions in details - very much appreciated!

This was the perfect house for our large multi-family vacation. It’s located close enough to town but in the mountains to feel isolated and serene. It was easy to access and talk to the manager in a timely manner when needed. This is a place we will return to if we get a chance.
