Boasting wonderful sea views and ideal for fans of Foyle’s War, the ITV World War ll detective drama series, Seagull’s Nest is ideally situated - right opposite Foyle’s house! Filming was done from the doorstep. Several guests look for how and where this iconic TV series was produced, with several other places in and around Hastings also featured in the show. Situated in the heart of the picturesque Old Town, Seagull’s Nest has sea views from every window and is within easy walking distance of the beach. Visit Smuggler’s Adventure, Underwater World, Hastings Castle, the Blue Reef Aquarium, Shipwreck Centre and Fisherman’s Museum at Rock-a-Nore, or the prestigious Jerwood Gallery which is located just minutes away. To the east is the majestic cliff coastline and views across the English Channel - the East Hill Country Park is a 5 minute walk away, with miles of interesting, varied walks and is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rare bird, plant and wildlife species can be found there as well as wonderful views, walks and places to explore. Fairlight Glen is a 2½ mile walk, each way along the clifftops, the coastal path then continues to Rye. 1066 Country is a holidaymakers delight with so much to see, do and discover. Visit Battle, Rye, Brighton, Lewes, Bexhill, Pevensey and Eastbourne, or take the train to London. Plenty of English Heritage and National Trust properties within driving distance. Alternatively, try Battle Abbey, Camber Sands and Herstmonceux Castle. Or just wander about Hastings’ fishing beach, with its colourful boats and traditional beach-launched fleet. Hastings Old Town and St Leonards down the road both have art galleries, pubs, restaurants, cafes and quirky bric a brac and antique shops.

They fell in love with the cottage’s view of the sea, the sun coming around the east cliffs, the location on one of old towns most beautiful quiet streets, the dazzling natural light and sense of calmness. Hastings is becoming a haven for a new generation of artists and creatives with many beautiful independent shops and eateries. Many of the guests return several times to discover more of the wonderful variety the locality has on offer and relax at seagulls nest with the stunning views whilst listening to the vinyl collection. Interesting shops and even a small independent cinema, 150 yards away. Many cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs in adjoining streets 100 yards away.
