About this cabin rental
The Crested Butte Love Shack - Experience a piece of Crested Butte, Colorado history by staying in an old miner's cabin, one of the original Crested Butte structures dating back to the mining era of the 1890's. The Cabin has been thoughtfully updated with the latest comforts and technology but still has all the charm and flavor of the old West. And the location absolutely can't be beat.
Just steps from historic Elk Avenue, the Cabin location is ideal. Shopping, dining, recreation trails, and the mountain (ski) shuttle bus are close by. The view of Mount Crested Butte from the Cabin is inspirational. Winter cross-county trails and summer wildflower hikes start a block from the front door.
This cozy, open-concept Cabin, filled with light and character, is the perfect getaway for a couple. It features a fully outfitted kitchen, one bathroom, and a comfy queen bed on the main level. The exterior has a fenced-in yard with seating areas (including a funky artistic bench made out of old skis), a propane grill and a locked shed to house any skis/bikes/gear you bring with you. There is also a convenient 2-car driveway to avoid the downtown parking permit/time limit hassles.
If you are looking for history mixed with the latest technology (including security enabled high-speed wireless internet, smartTV, Bluetooth speaker, and a high efficiency full-sized washer/dryer), you will find it here. This intimate, comfortable Cabin proves that great vacations and memories can come in small packages...
This non-traditional Cabin is perfect for the young-at-heart! It is located on First Street in Crested Butte, Colorado (just off of Elk Ave) - a fantastic location. Well behaved pets are very welcome.

This darling cabin is perfect for two people who want to drop their gear and go. It was super clean with all you need supplied. The small private yard with patio table and grill was perfect for an evening dinner and place to unwind. The very best thing about this place is its location. It is literally about 20 steps from Elk Street, CB’s charming downtown. We will be back!

Tittle says it all. A small cozy cabin, walkable to everything in town and all of the best hikes are within a close drive or bike.

The cabin was just as described. It is conveniently located near downtown Crested Butte, clean, cozy, comfortable & well stocked. The owners were accommodating & very easy to communicate with, responding to questions right away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Love Shack!

Cabin was clean, well equipped and located right in town. Walk to restaurants & shops right out the door. The listing and pics are accurate. I really enjoyed the securely fenced yard for my pups. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I loved the LOVESHACK for our stay in CB. I grew up in CB and came back for a dear friend's 75th birthday party and for the 4th of July. The LOVESHACK was perfect for our needs and centrally located, which made getting to all the festivities and restaurants and the birthday party easy peasy. Thanks for the great hospitality!!!

Really enjoyed our stay with our pup at this cozy cabin. It’s literally on the same street as the best shops and restaurants in crested butte, was super clean, and had every amenity we needed!

This was our third time staying at the Love Shack. The kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked the majority of our meals. The secure backyard was pefect for our pup. Thanks for such a great property!

We loved staying at the Love Shack. It is very accessible to Elk Street which is a huge plus. We've stayed in several locations in town and this one is probably the best located for our interests which center around food, hiking and just milling around.

We enjoyed our stay very much. However, we were unable to take advantage of the backyard are due to a large number of flies.

Hard to beat staying 10 ft from Elk Street! The place has all you need and is very pet friendly.

True to its name
The Love Shack is super cute! If you don't need a lot of space, this is an absolutely ideal location in Crested Butte. Despite its compact size, it has everything you need for a home away from home. Sheryl was very friendly and helpful, too.

Love the Love Shack!
Very comfortable and convenient. Has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Turns out there is a bed on the lower level, not just a futon. Only thing missing was lounge chairs in the yard. Will definitely return!

Cute Cabin in Prime Location
We had a wonderful time. My husband and our 2 mini Aussies stayed. It was a perfect size for us and even had a fenced in back yard. We love the town and could easily walk to everything, take the bus up to the mountain or enjoy hiking trails just minutes away from the cabin.

Love the love shack
I love the place for a winter stay... cozy with all of the amenities we enjoy- cooking our own food, laundering our ski- base layers... close to downtown, dog friendly. Coming back every year!

Perfect home base to explore CB
Perfect spot to walk to anything downtown, and easy access towards Kebler pass for adventures. Would easily stay here again.

Too short.
Old miner's cabin with good insides including a full kitchen/small but could cook all we wanted. One room, separate bath...like a studio apartment.

This house was the cutest place, so we’ll managed and very cozy. Everything went seamlessly!
The rental process was very easy with an excellent amount of communication but not so UCB that I felt burdened. I would definitely stay here again

Great Stay in the Loveshack
My wife and I have been traveling to Crested Butte since college, 10 years ago, and we have always wanted to stay in the Loveshack. Our stay did not disappoint! The cabin was great for our long weekend stay. The cabin is a great place to stay regardless of the season.

Enjoyed our stay and the close walking distance to downtown.

Wildflower visit
The little home was as advertised. Great location, walkable to almost everything. Great enclosed back yard for our dog. It also had a nice area to enjoy a cocktail. Nice size for two, would be tight for more than two, though. The place had everything we needed and if we ran out we had access to refills.

FUN cabin
The cabin had everything we needed and trust me we made good use of the kitchen! The fenced yard made it great for eating outside with the pup. Location is great, walk or bike to anything. Our dog especially liked the access to the "woods walk" path.

Fun little place
Awesome if you want something cozy right in town. Backyard was perfect for grilling and if you have dogs you can walk right to woods/lower loop from your your door. We brought up a lot of spices and utensils because you never know but this place was pretty equipped for everything. Hopefully going back in the winter to snowboard

Great little Getaway!
We loved our 3 nights at the Love Shack! It was clean and had everything we needed! Right in the heart of it all, and Sheryl was great to work with! Would recommend it and would stay here again!

Comfortable, cozy cabin in a great location
As advertised, the "Love Shack" is a cozy little cabin. Although it would accommodate four people (one mattress in the loft above the living space and a futon in the LR), there would not be a lot of privacy for them, so I am not sure I would recommend it for two couples, unless they know each other really, really well. Kitchen and bathroom are small but well-equipped, and the beds are comfortable. Best of all, the cabin is minutes from Crested Butte's main street, and there is a good coffee shop and bakery right around the corner. It's a nice place.

Great location!
The location was perfect for us. At quiet end of Elk Street but easy walk to restaurants and food store. Kitchen had everything we needed. Got used to climbing up the ladder to the loft. Could have used taller lamp for reading in loft.

Fun cabin, great location, beautiful area!
Thank you for a wonderful stay at the Love Shack! The location was perfect and CB couldn't be cooler! The gas fireplace kept us warm, and the appliances worked great. When we needed to modify our reservation, Sheryl was quick to get back to us and made it happen. Thanks again for a fantastic trip!

Cute and walking distance to everything!
Super cute cabin right off of Main Street in crested butte. I loved how we could walk everywhere and how care free the town was. The only thing I have to mention is the cabin was not cleaned before our check in arrival. We did show up early only an hour or so) and parked the car. I noticed the key was in the door and the lock box was flung open. I knocked and walked inside. It looked like someone was still staying there. I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on as I figured the cleaners maybe hadn’t arrived. We ended up just walking around downtown and enjoying the time we had before checking at 3. I messaged Sheryl to let her know about the lock box and how I found everything. She responded letting me know she would get it taken care of. We arrived back to the cabin at 3 and the door was open and I was informed that the maids didn’t show up so it might be another 30 mins or more before they finished cleaning the place. I’m pretty easy going so I said no worries and we decided to go walk around and enjoy the day. We came back and the place was picked up and looked nice. I will say the WiFi didn’t work while we were there which sort of upset me because I needed to do some work while I was there. I ended up using my hot spot after I reset the modem. The TV was pixelated really bad the first night (possibly the carrier or connection), but it cleared up the next day. All in all it was an experience and much more enjoyable than a typical hotel stay. Sheryl was very nice and accommodating!! If you want a cute quant cabin for a few days this place is perfect. You will hear a lot of passer bys and people do park right in front of the front door stairs (I thought that was a little odd) but all in all it was a great weekend, beautiful weather, so I couldn’t ask for anything else!

Nice place to stay in Crested Butte
The place was exactly as described and pictured. The owner, Sheryl, provided timely and detailed information well before arrival. No surprises. The location is great--a short walk to everything on the main street and riding distance to some trails. The only negative (which didn't detract significantly from the overall good experience) involves previous renters not cleaning up their dog poop in the back yard. In my view this isn't the owners fault because Sheryl asks renters to clean up after their dogs. This should be the dog owners responsibility and isn't too much to ask. I would recommend this place.

Perfect location
We had an amazing stay at the Love Shack! Right on Elk Avenue with all of the downtown Crested Butte eateries/shopping, but it’s far enough to the end of the historic area so that you feel private and peaceful. Several trails start right around the cabin, too, for easy hiking and mountain driving. Can’t recommend enough!

I drove from NJ to Crested Butte, anticipating a Tuesday arrival. But there was a major snowstorm forecast for Monday, so I pushed through, arriving Sunday. The Love Shack was made available to me for 2 extra nights with very little notice. We arrived to find it clean, warm, and ready.
The following morning, there were 8 inches of snow on the ground. It was fabulous to be right in town, checking out all the coffee places, walking distance to everything, Nordic Center, Bus stop, snowshoe trails. I ended up with 3 full days to explore it all, thanks to the responsiveness of the hosts. Would definitely stay again.
