What better way to see Boston than on a houseboat in the harbor with plenty of fresh air! Set in historic Boston Harbor in a protected state of the art gated and secure marina the Green Turtle I is the perfect choice for your visit. We are located in Boston's Charlestown Neighborhood which is home to the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) and the Bunker Hill Monument. Charlestown is Boston's oldest neighborhood.
There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance of the Green Turtle.
The Green Turtle I is an award winning floating houseboat which has 2 separate suites which can accommodate 2 people in each suite. Each suite is very private. The price reflects one suite. We have been awarded The Travelers Choice and The Best of Boston Award.

We are a short distance away from the North End, Fanueil Hall and the Boston Common. It is easy to get around by foot, ferry, free shuttle bus , Uber or Taxi. Catch the Green Line to get to a game at Fabulous Fenway

Each suite has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. The Green Turtle was designed for comfort above all and the only reminder your floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling.

Relax reclined on our dock chairs or sip gourmet coffee from the comfort of a well placed rattan chair.

We provide luxury linens and towels. Your suite has a queen sized bed, small window table with rattan chairs and a kitchenette with a small refrigerator and microwave. We stock your suite with coffee, tea, cream, milk and water.

The Green Turtle was a very unique experience! Sherri met us and answered lots of questions, introduced us to the property and how/where to park (on-site pay parking lot at the marina), how to get our baggage to the houseboat, how to operate the tv, a/c, marina access points, etc. Communication with Jon and Sherri was super. The Charlestown location was incredible and the property came with a helpful binder of information and contact numbers, local restaurant menus, and more. The fridge was stocked with milk, juice, yogurts and there were pastries waiting for us. Everything was clean and worked well in the kitchen and bathroom spaces. I will mention that the mattress was pretty soft, in case that is something folks might want to know in advance. Thanks for a great stay!

Property is great location and property owners/managers responded quickly and promptly. It met all our needs. While sitting outside was nice the view was partially blocked due to a large yacht in front of the sitting area. We adjusted our chairs a bit but were surprised by the view being blocked. I would still recommend this place but advise the view could be partially blocked.

The Green Turtle is in a fabulous location in a super friendly and safe marina. We were for 7+ days escaping the Florida heat and hang out with family. Jon’s check in hospitality and super customer service throughout was a treat. Only to be bettered by the harbor breezes through our open windows. Easy walks to gym, great breakfasts and fun/nice restaurants. Great trip!

Jon was a great host! He generously spent some time getting us acquainted with the boat and pointing us in the direction of the best restaurants within walking distance as well as the free shuttles to get to and from the downtown attractions. We had a great time and if we get back to Boston in the future we will definitely choose this spot!

What an ideal spot for peace and solitude while in the heart of Boston! You are rocked to sleep on the water at night, with Boston attractions and history at your feet the next day. Great location for everything- we walked to Bunker Hill and TD garden for NCAA basketball tournament games. Took convenient ferry to sightseeing spots. Walked to USS Constitution and used free shuttle to get to North End. Clean safe dock area and neighborhood Hosts were great and very informative their recommendations were spot on. Enjoyed our 4 day stay despite some pretty raw cold rainy weather

Staying at The Green Turtle was such a cool experience. I didn’t expect where I stayed to be part of the experience, but it was! My friend and I booked this stay fairly last minute, but from start to finish, Jon and Karen were the perfect hosts :) Karen’s homemade banana bread waiting for us was just an extra bonus. As soon as I arrived, Jon was there to help me carry our luggage and gave us all of the recommendations on what to see in Boston. Downtown is a close ferry ride or public transit stop away, and Jon also gave me lots of good food suggestions (devoured our Modern cannolis as Jon suggested- delicious!). Would definitely stay here again or reccomend to family and friends. Would be perfect for a weekend getaway too- lovely dock chairs for a glass of wine or coffee with a book 😊 overall, it was a perfect introduction to Boston! Thanks, Jon and Karen.

Man!! Where to begin. Beautiful views of the Marina and Skyline. We enjoyed our time spent in Jon’s wonderful houseboat. Jon was more than helpful and knowledgeable about everything in the area. We only stayed one night and it was the most relaxing time. Everything we needed was provided in our room. I’ve never had blueberry muffins so moist. Thank you for a time well spent.

He had numerous tips on low cost or free transportation and all the best insider info on places to eat the best food without tourist prices. Jon’s advice was spot on and we did exactly what he recommended. Thanks Jon. I’m a boat person and this is a houseboat, maybe not for everyone, but the experience I was looking for. I loved watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We road out a tropical storm the first night, which was rocking, but the second night was smooth floating. We had a great time.

Our hosts, Jon and Karen, are such lovely people. Jon provided us with very helpful information on where to go for great food and how to get there. Karen provided us with yummy baked items for our breakfast. We wanted for nothing. Our bed was comfy and the houseboat was very welcoming. My only criticism was that there were huge yachts parked on both sides of the dock which obstructed our views of the water. A big draw to this particular location was being on the water and its views. This was something that Jon and Karen could not help so I cannot fault them for it. Overall, it was unique and winderful experience.

We stayed here the last two nights of our honeymoon and it was our first time in Boston. The accommodations were awesome! The unit was very clean and includes absolutely everything you need. The hosts are very accommodating, enthusiastic and informative providing detailed information on how to most easily navigate the city. They have answers to any question you may have. Its evident they love hosting others and genuinely care about you having the best visit possible. We cannot say enough good things about this place and the hosts.

It’ll be hard to ever beat this vrbo experience staying on the Green Turtle and Jon and Karen’s warm hospitality! We had the most perfect visit to Boston! The boat is in a “gated community” in the harbor—what a unique experience to stay on a boat! Everything was within walking distance (the ferry/shuttle/trolley). Jon gave us an orientation, map and all, of places to eat and other local faves. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time staying on the water. Jon welcomed us even though our flight was 3 hours delayed due to severe weather in Boston. We were to thankful to arrive and find homemade banana bread, waters and other snacks. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Thank you Jon! We really enjoyed our time there!

Karen&Jon we’re absolutely amazing. Jon is full of information. Helped us find the best pizza, where the water taxis are and the best restaurants. He even assisted us with a returning taxi to the airport. He was available during our stay with a quick text because we forgot one of the restaurants name. Karen made the best banana bread I’ve ever tasted. They think of everything. They also put up an anniversary banner on our door. We’ve talked to a couple of permanent residents at the marina. Even got to tour one of the residents boathouse. Boston people are genuine and lively. This has to be one of my favorite places to visit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us Karen and Jon.

The House Boat was very clean and charming. John was very responsive as we had a lot of questions concerning transportation options. The view was beautiful. However, on our last day a very large yacht docked on the dock in front of the house boat. I thought this was temporary but apparently the yacht rents the space right in front of the house boat. This yacht took up the entire space of the dock and completely blocked our view, all we could see was the boat docked right in our face. It is not mentioned anywhere that a boat could dock and you would not have any view at all. If I knew this ahead of time I would not have booked this house boat. It was very disappointing and the reason I wouldn’t give this property a higher rating.

Most everything was great, Jon was very friendly and helpful and the location was great. My only complaint was that our entire view of the boston harbor was blocked by a gigantic yaht for almost all of our stay.
