About this villa rental
La Diosa is a perfect place for families and friends looking for an amazing place to relax and reconnect. Close to everything but a world away.
The villa is the jewel of a 4-acre estate, set on a rise with panoramic views of the Caribbean sea. The villa has 4 bedrooms including 2 master suites with ensuite bath, a small beach, a boat house and dock, luxury furnishings, private pool, labyrinth and gardens, and incredible views on every level. We created this home to be a piece of paradise and a place you will never want to leave.
Every detail has been thoughtfully designed so you will feel at home. Swim off La Diosa's private dock into the warm Caribbean waters or take our kayaks to snorkel Roatan’s amazing coral reefs. The Villa has panoramic views of the ocean and tropical gardens and a small beach.
Even though the villa is roomy and expansive, it can feel very intimate. There are many places for gatherings where your group can enjoy each other's company and there are spaces for quiet reflection. There is a large infinity pool, acres of gardens and paths, and a labyrinth made from the white quartz found on the property. If you love the ocean, you can swim and snorkel off La Diosa's private dock in Politilly Bight, or kayak and paddle board. The secret Politilly mangrove tunnels (across the Bight) are a trip back in time. If you are a diver, Subway Watersports provides Valet diving and snorkeling services and will pick you up off the dock to dive or snorkel at all the best places along the uncrowded North Shore reef. The diving here is spectacular – Subway’s divemasters are first rate and know the best spots on the reef. Deep sea and local fishing excursions are also available.
We have a caretaker on the property 24 hours per day. And while the villa is secluded and private, restaurants, shopping, and Roatan's many attractions are not far away. Our guests find the location perfect to explore Roatan's many attractions.
If you love to cook, the fully equipped gourmet kitchen has a large island of slate and Honduran rosewood, an eating bar, two dining areas, and spectacular views of the Caribbean. The screened porch by the pool has a lounging area, a bar, and yoga and exercise equipment.
It was very important to us to make La Diosa a 'green' home suitable for asthmatic and environmentally sensitive people. The home has tile and concrete construction, solar power and solar hot water, a saltwater and ultraviolet purification system in the infinity pool, and non-toxic, sophisticated energy-efficient construction. We NEVER use pesticides and we strictly forbid the use of fragranced detergents or fabric softener.
La Diosa is a truly magical place....we are sure you will love it as much as we do!

This property is great to stay a bit away from the extreme holiday crowds in west bay and west end. We easily spent time at west end and west bay on the days we chose, but really enjoyed the local friendly vibes of the politily area, and ventured to camp bay for a quiet beach experience as well. We would definitely return to this vacation rental again.

Very well maintained property. The property is breath taking.

We really liked out stay at La Diosa del Sol. Our fishing guide said it perfectly. The West side is for tourists and the East side is for travelers. It’s not that they are that far apart, it was a little over an hour to get to the West Bay, but just much more laid back and relaxing. Not the crowds the West End has, especially on Cruise days. That being said, here is what we liked and didn’t like during our stay. Note, we were a group of 7 adults, my wife and I, our 3 kids and 2 significant others.
The house and pool are phenomenal. Some said in an earlier review that just know that the house is a bunch of rooms and to get from room to room there are outdoor hallways. Everything is covered, just picture a normal house, but you take out the outside walls that would connect the rooms. Not a bad thing, we really liked it. It made it feel more tropical and unique. The kitchen is amazing and spacious.
The view are incredible. Beautiful sunsets every night.
You must have Rosa cook for you. Truly one of the highlights of the trip. She shops, cooks and cleans up. And there are plenty of leftovers, so plan the dinner early in trip.
Location was perfect for us. Everything we wanted to do was nor more than 30 minutes, except when we went to West Bay. A fifteen minute drive to fish with Captain Buck. Grocery store 25 minutes away. Restaurants close. Turquoise Bay beach 15 minutes. Punta Gorda maybe 10 minutes.
Now, one of the surprises for us were the dogs. It did say in the contract that there were dogs on the property but were not allowed in the house area. However, we constantly had to tell them to go. We love dogs, (have 2) but on vacation we really were not expecting to deal with pets.
The beach is not really close or really a beach. You have to walk down the driveway and then down the dirt road for about 100 feet to a gate that is open. There are steep stairs down the water. Anyone could walk down there (though there are not a lot of people around). A lot of trash behind the boathouse. There really is not a place to hang out down there (plus you would have to bring down anything to sit on). Mostly shady with all the trees and seaweed/kelp for the first 30 feet or so out in the water. The dock is really nice, and you can sit out there. But really disappointed that we were not able to hang out down there.
Overall, we really liked La Diosa del Sol. Doing 4 stars primarily because of the beach and dogs. Everything else was exceptional.

Our group of 6 loved the property. Really was perfect for our group. From the time we arrived to Rosa cooking dinner and cold beers waiting for us to the last night we had a great time. Steven was right there for anything that came up. We dove every day, getting picked up from the Dock by Dive Pangea. Pool was so refreshing when getting back from our dives. We prepared just about all our meals in the very well stocked and spacious kitchen. Bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet. With the breeze coming off the ocean, and we spent nearly all our time on the 2nd floor veranda where we ate our meals, played cards, and chatted about everything and nothing. Wonderful vacation and we would not hesitate returning.

I would highly recommend La Diosa for a relaxing, off the beaten path holiday. The house is located in a small village on the north eastern side of the island and is perfect for a family or couple vacation. We felt safe and cared for by Steven, the caretaker who lives on the property with his wife and son in a casita at the entrance to the driveway. He was always around to answer any of our questions and help us out when we needed him. Thanks for the kayaking in the mangroves. He was very accommodating to any of our needs and went above and beyond for us when my sister in law had an unfortunate fall and broke her arm. She missed a step going down the stairs on her first day there and ended up requiring surgery. She would be the first to admit it was her own clumsiness as she is accident prone. Steven went with us to the clinic and was a very huge accet to us with the language barrier. He helped us arrange the surgery with the orthopedic surgeon and stayed with us several long days as she recovered and was sent home.
We were also very grateful to Liz the property manager who sent us to the right clinic and worked with us throughout this misfortune. Thank you Liz. We also couldn’t believe how fast a surgery was performed and how quickly professional health care was provided. I can’t imagine she would have received that fast of care at home.
The house itself is very well equipped with anything you could ever need for a holiday away from home. The large pool is lovely and is beautiful at night with the lights and the stars above. There are lots of pool floats and a very large lounge area by the pool with many sun beds and chairs.
We had a car and we’re able to explore every part of the island from our location. It was especially nice to see a lot of the eastern half of the island that is often unexplored by visitors.
There are many great restaurants and villages close by in the area and I would recommend having a car to see them.
Nothing is very far to get to on the island and we toured a lot in our three week stay.
Thank you for such a wonderful holiday. Everything was easy right from the beginning of the booking to our departure. Roatan is a beautiful island and its people will capture your heart. I hope to return soon and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend La Diosa. It is a special place.
Thanks again Steven and Liz.

We enjoyed the property and it was as advertised. The on-site caretaker, Steve, was great. We never saw the property manager the entire trip. The property can use some improvements. The beds are very uncomfortable. The kitchen stove is very poor. Burners and oven are either high or low. Nothing in between.

Too many good things to say in a short summary! Loved all the little details that came with. Steven and Liz are absolutely the best! I couldn’t believe how any question or any need was attended to so fast - prior to the trip and during. Do hire Rosa to cook a meal for you - you won’t be disappointed. The house was amazing and location unbelievable, Only negative is wonderful Mother Nature that no one can control. Now we have to go back and so looking forward to it. THANKS!!!!! The Johnson Family

We really enjoyed our stay at La Diosa del Sol. The house was very unique in that each space was separate...bedrooms each separate from the kitchen/living room. The pool was great and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals in.
We really enjoyed the quiet peaceful location and being away from the busy areas, however it was quite a drive to get to a restaurant and grocery store and at night there are very few road lights making it extremely dark.
The house manager Liz answered all questions very quickly and Steven the caretaker was very nice and always available to help with anything that we wanted. When we return to Roatan we would love to stay at La Diosa del Sol again.

This was our family's first visit to Roatan. There are only 4 of us - so we knew this was more house than we needed but La Diosa Del Sol was the absolute perfect spot for rest and relaxation! The home is so beautiful and well kept, the grounds are beautiful and the pool and outdoor areas are just perfect! From the time of booking, communication with the owner and property manager was wonderful. And then during our stay, our caretaker was absolutely TOP NOTCH! The 2 resident pets made our stay even more enjoyable - what great personalities these 2 have - we were in love with them! I cannot say enough good things about this property and people of Roatan. We felt safe at all times and look forward to visiting again soon!

Great stay
The property was just as pictured. Steven, the caretaker was so helpful. He would check on us regularly and helped guide us to any activities or places we needed. Liz the house manager was more than willing to answer any question we had. She also provided great information in the initial email that was of great help. Molly and Maya, the two dogs are the property where so sweet. We loved them and wanted to take them home. Overall a great place to stay. Beautiful island. Highly recommend.

The staff at this VRBO goes above and beyond every day. Steven was very attentive as our caretaker he guided us through snorkeling and the kayaking thru the mangroves. Rosa cooked for us for breakfast and one dinner , the food was outstanding we cannot wait to go back

Beautiful views and outdoor living
The villa has the most amazing views of the Caribbean, great outdoor living and the sunsets are stunning. The gardens are nicely kept and provide privacy but don’t impede the view. The pool was very relaxing to hang out in with floats to just chill and look out at the ocean. There are plenty of cushioned lounge chairs along the pool deck, under the patio for shade as well as on the upper patio.
We enjoyed using the 2 person kayaks as well as the single kayaks. Very peaceful and serene. The water is not that inviting at the beach area unless you don’t mind all the sea grass. But you’d want to kayak out to the reef for snorkeling anyways. Also to note the beach and dock area are across the road from the villa and down two flights of stairs.
In regards to the indoor spaces keep in mind each room is a separate room that each lead to the outdoor living areas whether it’s on the lower or upper level. Meaning there are no interior doors. So you walk outside to get to each room with the exception of the 2 master bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. This was really only inconvenient for the two lower bedrooms as you had to go outside to get to the 1/2 bath which is not air conditioned.
Steven (caretaker) was just awesome. He was very helpful and friendly. Rosa (cook) was exceptional. We had a couple delicious meals including fresh fish from a fisherman. Liz the property manager was very informative and available before and during our trip. You are well taken care of with all the staff.
It was also nice to have the property all fenced in and the gate closed and locked at night with the outside layout of the house. Steven lives right outside the gate as well.
Overall the villa & outdoor living is beautiful and very welcoming. The owners took care in providing comfortable beds, plenty of towels, a well appointed kitchen, comfy couch, cushioned outdoor chairs and basic amenities. Everything was well cared for.
Thanks for sharing you home away from home!

Missing it already!
Everything went as planned, good communication with the Property Manager and the Caretaker. Liz was super quick to respond to all the questions we had. The house is as beautiful as the pictures show. We walked 3-5 miles a day and never had any issues. Steven, the caretaker, was there whenever we needed him and he helped us book a ride to La Serena and a boat ride to and from town. He also got the kayaks out for us. He often joined us on our outings. The location is quite a way from the main tourist areas, which is what we wanted. You can snorkel in front of the house, but there is a lot of seagrass, so we opted to take the kayaks out and tie up to the bouy. We were a bit dissapointed in the snorkeling and didn't see much. But dive boats showed up everday, so we may have just picked a bad bouy. We were also able to kayake though some nearby Mangroves. A couple things that everyone should be aware of. You will hear dogs barking throughout the night. Everyone is the area has a dog and they alert you whenever anyone is walking down the street. We had 2 house dogs that we just loved. They were very sweet and snuggly, and they made us feel safe. Steven locks the gate everynight as well. You will also hear Roosters. This is pretty common on any island, be prepared with ear plugs or use the white noise app on your phone and you will be fine. One other thing to note is the only the master bedrooms have a shower. The other 2 bedrooms have access to a small bathroom-one on each floor, so they had to shower in the masters. We were a close group of friends so this was not a problem for us, but it's good to know. The pool, property, views and house were all amazing. We will definitely go back!

Great view, pool, and east-side gateway
Very comfortable, with everything as explained in description. If you want to enjoy the beautiful and laid-back east side of the island, this is an excellent location. Great common area for your group. Notice that there are only two showers, within two bedrooms. We found it easy to work with, but don't be surprised. Stock up on groceries, as there's not one nearby. All-in-all a very nice place, and the property managers were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful home.
House was comfortable and pool was great. Steven was always available to fix any problems. The house was off the main road so not much traffic. Rain took out a couple days, but that is what it is. Would suggest a 4 wheel drive and go east to Old Port Royal. It’s an interesting drive and La Serinda is a good stop for lunch. Only problem was the internet didn’t work very well. But a great place to stay away from the west side.

The perfect wellness retreat!
We spent a week at La Diosa and loved it! The house was fantastic. We enjoyed the location not being near the cruise ship crowds. It made us feel like locals and allowed us to get a feel of what Roatan is really like. The home is beautifully laid out and provided total privacy. The view overlooking the infinity pool to the ocean was stunning. The house, pool, and yard were all meticulously kept which added to our enjoyment.
Communication with the property manager Liz was effortless and she was always quick to respond during booking. Rosa cooked us a delicious meal on our first night. We highly recommend this if you have the option.
The house caretaker, Steven, was awesome and a joy to hang out with. He showed us around several parts of the island, took us to see the Garifuna drumming that I was really looking forward to doing, and arranged all our daily excursions (snorkeling. fishing, sightseeing, and beach recommendations). When our trip was coming to an end, he even arranged and escorted us to get our covid tests completed before our departure. He made our experience exceptional!
We definitely recommend La Diosa when visiting Roatan and will be returning with all our friends!

Great Vacation Spot
We enjoyed the location on the island of the house. House was clean and well stocked. Could use ac in the main living room but a great breeze was present all the time. Caretaker and Liz as well as owner were always available to assist with questions or recommendations or to assist with needs. We would return to this house again.

great stay at La Diosa!
The poperty is beautiful with a great view of the reef and ocean in two directions. The house is extremely comfortable and painted in vibrant island colors, huge kitchen that is well appointed (impt as we cooked for ourselves) next to a comfortable dining and living room. The grounds are also beautifully maintained with lots of things in flower, and the pool was a great way to cool off.

Amazing Family Getaway
Our family of 7 adults and 1 baby rented this home Dec. 24, 2019 through Jan 1 2020. We chose this home for its outdoor living spaces and distance away from the cruise ships and busy west end. What a great choice. Home was beautiful. Kitchen well appointed with great flow. Bedrooms were separated which allowed for quiet time, if one needed it, all in a beautiful setting close to the beach. We used the kayaks and paddle board almost every day. As wonderful as the house is the staff really made the difference. Liz met us at the airport and helped us find some of our kids that flew in a couple of days earlier, then took us grocery shopping, all the while being incredibly patient. Joel the caretaker was wonderful. He cleaned the pool every morning, took us anywhere we asked, found fresh fish for us, gave us advice, made sure we had everything we needed all with a smile. He is there as much or as little as you want. He lives on the property with two very friendly dogs named Lucky and Molly, so he is there if you need him but he is well aware you may want privacy. The dogs are very friendly family dogs. We definitely recommend stay at La Diosa del Sol

Amazing!
We had an amazing time staying at La Diosa. The house is beautiful, true to the photos, and perfect for our two families with two master bedrooms and two other rooms for the kids. We ended up using available aerobeds for one of the kids since it was a little warm to share the bed for the teens and we were being frugal with the AC. We were happy we rented a car since it seems it would have been hard to get around without one, but I loved being on the less touristy side of the island and nothing was a very far drive. Liz, the property manager, met us at the airport and was available to answer any questions. And Clay(and Debra) who live on the property checked in daily and had lots of info to share-he helped us set up the best day of snorkeling and island hopping with someone he knew from a nearby town. Wifi went out one night after a thunderstorm and was out on the island(it seemed) and was generally slow in the hours we were all trying to use it(we did have 4 teenagers in our group.) Overall it was a lovely stay- I would definitely recommend!

Roatan getaway
My husband and I spent 10 amazing days at La Diosa Del Sol. It exceeded our expectations. The grounds were beautiful, the views were spectacular, and the house had everything we needed and more. The owner, Adrienne, was very easy to communicate with. Liz, the property manager, picked us up, took us shopping, and gave us lots of suggestions on the island. The caretaker, Clay, was checking on us every day and made sure the pool was always sparkling. We really appreciated all the personal touches done for us. There were fresh flowers throughout the house when we arrived, there was a huge basket of fruit waiting for us, and Adrienne was so kind to gift my husband and I an anniversary dinner with Rosa, the fabulous cook. We honestly felt very spoiled. We enjoyed scuba diving with the nearby diving company. They actually picked us up at La Diosa's private dock every time. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We would certainly recommend this home to all our friends and family.

Beautiful property!
We spent 7 nights at La Diosa during our recent family vacation to Roatan.
Liz, the property manager, met us at the airport just after our plane landed. From there, we followed her to Snappers, the local fish market, where we picked up some nice fish for dinner and then to Eldon's for a weeks supply of groceries, beer & wine. After loading up our vehicles, we then made our way to the villa.
Liz gave us a quick tour of the villa, answered our questions and introduced us to Austin who looks after the property. Liz was great and attended to all our needs during our stay. We also had Rosa cook a couple of island meals for us and we thoroughly enjoyed her cooking.
La Diosa is located on a hill which provides spectacular views of both the property and the Caribbean Sea. It is also quite secluded and peaceful, away from the hustle & bustle from where the cruise ships come in.
The villa is very spacious and clean, with more than enough room for 4 adults and 4 teenagers. The kitchen is well equipped and the villa itself is very comfortable. We ate our breakfasts and lunches on the second floor balcony while enjoying the spectacular views.
The teenagers spent a lot of time in the pool as well as exploring the beach and bay in the sea kayaks.
As we were warned, the mosquitos do come out at dusk and the sand fleas are quite active at the beach if you don't apply bug spray.
Our only complaint is that the property has a northern exposure and at this time of year only the pool gets sun during the day, leaving the pool area and loungers in the shade.
Roatan is a beautiful island and La Diosa is a beautiful property. We would definitely consider returning La Diosa at some point in time and would highly recommend it!

Pros and Cons
Pros: I was amazed that the house was practically insect free. I only saw one small spider (under my pillow) and of course the normal kitchen ants. The bath and pool towels were plentiful and of high quality. The pool is beautiful (except missing tiles), large, very warm and has some great pool loungers. The view from the house can’t be beat. WOW! It is gorgeous. It was very nice having the kayaks. We took the double kayak out every morning. Jorge the caretaker was always willing to assist with the kayaks. The kitchen was well equipped and it was wonderful having a washer and dryer available.
Cons: Getting into bed I noticed that the sheets had sand in them. I alerted the property manager who dismissed my concern and did not offer clean sheets or assistance. Then we noticed that the bathroom counters were covered in sand/grit. All I had to do was wipe my hand across the counter and my hand was filthy. The bathroom sinks and mirrors looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time. There was even toothpaste left from previous guests stuck to the sinks. The living room couch was also covered in sand/grit and we had to place towels on the cushions to be able to sit on it. The DVD player did not work and the wifi was unreliable. The pool light did not work and my husband stepped on a metal object in the bottom of the pool that stuck in his big toe. There were dogs that roam the property and jumped on us when we got out of the car every day. Once my husband was asleep on the hammock and a dog jumped up on him. I wanted to swim from the nice beach area, but there was garbage laying in the sand in the water and it did not look inviting. The area around the house does not provide peace and quiet. Some construction was occurring nearby and all day long we heard saws, hammers and generators. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is LOUD music from noon until 2:00 AM coming from some area close by. The only way to block it out while sleeping is to keep all doors and windows closed and run the air conditioner. Jorge the caretaker was quite intrusive. He would appear without warning at the pool area while we were laying out or swimming. He even entered the house one morning without knocking. It was unnerving wondering when he was going to show up and if we were going to have privacy or not. I would have been nice to have been left alone. I think this would be a wonderful rental with improvements in the property manager’s and caretaker ‘s roles.

Tout simplement exceptionnel (Simply Exceptional!)
With our 4 children, we came from France to visit Roatan. La Diosa was THE place to stay and we had a marvelous time there : the house and the garden are really wonderful, well equiped, with everything you might dream. The beach is near, and with the kayacks, you're able to snorkel on the beautiful reef in a few moments. Humming birds can be seen while you're taking your shower in the open air. The view is breathtaking.
Beeing located on the east part of Roatan is really an advantage : this part of the island is more authentic, but in less than an hour you can access, if you want, the more touristical places in the island. Not far from the house, beautiful beaches, wonderful dives with "subway water sport" that pick you up right from the dock at La Diosa. Punta Gorda with its Garifuna joyful feats and dances is very near...
And what made our stay really remarkable was the presence of Jorge. He is perfect in his role as caretaker : helpul, efficient, hardworker, always available but never intrusive. And we found he goes far beyond his duty, in the good sense : friendly, giving good advices, taking care of our security in every aspect, always ready to talk about Honduras and Roatan, showing our kids how to cook a traditional recipe. After a few days, though he was always discrete, we had the impression of being at home with a friend nearby.
Jorge is really precious and added greatly to the quality of our stay in La Diosa…
The best summary comes from our kids "when do we come back ?". And though it's very far from France, no doubt we also dream of it!
PS : if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, don't hesitate to go far east, on the dirt road, to "La Sirena" restaurant : the view and the beach are amazing, and you've got the feeling of being at the edge of the world. Their fishes are delicious.

Stunning Property!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! The house and property are even more beautiful than the photos let on! The house and pool area were lovely, as was the view, and the location was perfect for us. The area was quiet and set back off the main roads, and the beachfront was a minute walk away.
Liz, the property manager, was gracious and extremely helpful in coordinating our stay, making herself easily available to answer questions we had. Jorge, the groundskeeper, went above and beyond to make our time comfortable and fun. We really can't recommend this place enough!

Our special vacation place
This is our 3rd year with our family staying at La Diosa. This property is beautiful and it is prettier every year. It is the perfect place for us with large swimming pool and swim toys for our 5 children, plenty of room for them to play inside and outside on the grounds. Unlimited Wifi for all the internet games and social networks.
Our friends live very close by. We have separate areas at the house to entertain them, away from the children watching tv. We love the quiet here, the views are amazing!
Jorge, the caretaker, is on the property 24x7 and is so helpful. Liz, the property manager, is a very short distance from the house. We have always felt well taken care of,everything prepared for our arrival.
We love to return to La Diosa when vacationing or whenever work requires our presence on Roatan... We won't go anywhere else.

The Perfect Vacation Villa
We just returned from our fantastic week at La Diosa del Sol. I know this is a cliché, but the photos do not do this house justice. It is absolutely fabulous in every way, north, south, east and west of the Pecos.
From beginning to end, communication was spot on. Liz, the property manager, met us at the airport and escorted us first to do some shopping, and then on to the house. She made everything work seamlessly, from turning the house over to us immaculately clean, complete with cold beer, snacks, local cell phones, and the assurance that if anything were needed, she was just down the road and open to assist us.
The caretaker, George, who lives in a separate house on the estate, was there to help us for whatever might be necessary, 24/7, and did all this without being intrusive. We just cannot say enough about how awesome he is. His English is excellent from living in the U.S. for many years. He knew the best spots on the Politilly reef to snorkel and fish and was a wealth of information about Roatan.
One thing we so appreciated was George's help in getting the kayaks both out and back in to the storage barn, even though we routinely went out twice a day for snorkeling or fishing expeditions. He was always gracious and eager to help. While we were out on the reef, he kept a weather eye out for us, and always met us back at the dock when we returned, ready to help us store the kayaks back in to storage.
But I am saving the best for last, which is the house itself.
There are two master bedrooms, pretty much identical in layout, but each with it's own charm. The upstairs bedroom, on the same level as the great room and veranda, has a queen bed, Jacuzzi tub, and this amazing shower that is "outdoors" like in Bali. The downstairs master has a king bed, no tub, and a "roof" over the outdoor shower and opens out to the pool and entertainment area. There are two more guest rooms, and 2 guest baths, one on each level.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need. If it isn't there, it's because you don't need it. Simply amazing.
Wi-Fi works well, though a little slow. No need for streaming video anyway since the house has a DVD collection that would keep you entertained for a year.
The reef in front of the house is amazing. The coral is pristine, there are multitudes of fish, and it's easily accessible from the house by the provided kayaks.
We give this house an unqualified thumbs up and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

La Diosa was amazing; it is our new favorite vacation home!! From the very start we received wonderful service from packing list ideas to assuring emails that wed be met at the airport. Everything was exactly as promised, if not better. The house is fantastic, the pool is beautiful, the grounds are stunning and the view is breathtaking. We were there with our three kids (7-11) and my mother who's 65. All six of us were completely happy with our experience. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy life!

Beautiful Villa
My family of 4 stayed at this gorgeous villa for 1 week! It has absolutely everything you will need to make your trip to Roaton spectacular! The infinity pool is lovely! My girls used it daily and loved it! We kayaked daily and loved snorkeling so close to the villa. Efran was helpful and so friendly- he even took us out to show us where the best snorkeling spots were. We never, ever felt unsafe. The whole island is beautiful!
We loved the fresh fish at snappers! So delicious! Thank goodness for the large grill provided, we grilled every day. The stars at night--- oh the stars!
We also looked into renting some of the properties close to this villa and they were twice or three times as much and don't have beach access! We truly got an amazing deal and loved our experience at La Diosa!
The owners of the villa were so easy to work with. Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful villa!
We hope to come back soon! If you're looking for a place to stay in Roaton, look no further, this villa has it all!

The Jewel of Roatan
Our group of seven friends spent one week at La Diosa, and what a treat. We really enjoyed the house, and particularly enjoyed the ease of kayaking to the reef and snorkeling in the beautiful waters of Roatan. La Diosa was the ideal vacation spot for our group of foodies and the fish (grouper, snapper) from Snapper's store was very fresh. The large grill was perfect for almost every meal - fish tacos, hamburgers, ribs, even nachos. Adrienne was a tremendous help with organizing the reservation and answering all of our questions. Liz was attentive to our needs and helped us to find the most interesting and fun spots on the island (including music at BJ's...). The cell phones provided with the house eased our communication with the U.S. and on Roatan, this is a very nice touch. The house itself is perfect for a group of friends who want privacy but also interactions in the great room, by the pool, on the dock. The grounds include beautiful local and well-groomed vegetation. As we visited during the dry season, we never saw a mosquito and only encountered a few no-see-ums. The internet was a challenge, but Liz went the distance to keep us linked electronically. The two suites were beautiful accommodations for two couples. The smaller two bedrooms were fine for our group, but note that the residents in those rooms were required to shower in one of the suite bathrooms (or in the outside shower). All in all, we had a tremendous time in Roatan and will be back again to enjoy the hospitality of La Diosa and the friendly care of Adrienne, Liz and Ephraim.

Absolute perfect vacation week with friends!
We had the extreme privilege of being able to stay here as a vacation and staff retreat. The house exceeded my expectations and truly was a week that we will never forget. It was even bigger than I envisioned through pictures and videos and perhaps it felt this way due to the wonderful open air feel to the rooms and space. You can tell that detail and thought went into every aspect of the construction and layout. The house was perfect for a large group as it provided sufficient communal space but also enough space to be alone. The kitchen was great for cooking large meals and big enough for there to be more than one cook in the kitchen. We enjoyed the family style layout with the kitchen, dining room and lounge area all somewhat connected in the same room. The pool was amazing and we definitely utilized that at any time of night or day!
Liz and Ephraim made us feel welcome and secure which really allowed us to just focus on having a great time. The house is a bit removed from any of the larger towns on the island but that was just what we were looking for. It would be an honor to return again in the future!

Amazing Time at La Diosa
My wife, sisters and I came to Roatan for a relaxing visit for the second time in two years. This was our 3rd trip (overall) to Roatan and we have stayed in different villas each time.
The home is gorgeous and in a very quiet, serene area. The grounds are immense and lovely with so many different beautiful flowers and plants. The views - oh, the views! We loved relaxing in the saltwater infinity pool while gazing at the ocean.
The service provided by the staff was superb! Liz was very helpful in answering all of our questions before and during our visit and in getting us squared away throughout the journey. Effraim is excellent at taking care of things on the property and helped us out whenever we had questions or requests. We would definitely recommend having Rosa cook for you during your stay. She is a great cook and has a very sparkling personality. We greatly enjoyed our conversations with her and thank her for telling us the secret to making coconut chicken! The meals we shared out on the terrace cooked by Rosa were one of the many highlights of our trip. We also had an enjoyable and informative personalized tour given by George, Rosa's husband. We would definitely recommend this for others staying at the villa.
Lucky and Hope, the Katrina rescue dogs were so fun and sweet. My sisters wanted to "dognap" them both and bring them back to New Orleans with them!
We were happy with every aspect of LaDiosa. It was wonderful! When we plan our next trip we are already planning to stay at LaDiosa.

Swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and sunbathing without the crowds
We absolutely loved our stay at La Diosa. The Villa has everything, so you never need to leave except to stock up on food and beverages. The fully-equipped kitchen made meal preparation easy, and the decor of the kitchen and living area is beautiful and great for entertaining. We loved the pool, reading in the pool lounge area, and watching the lovely sunsets every day. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the open air to go indoors and sleep at night; even the master shower on the second floor bathes you in air and sky. If you love swimming, kayaking and snorkeling, rent this Villa. You won't need to go anywhere else.

Had to Come Back - for a Second Fantastic Vacation at this Awesome Property / Location
This is the 2nd time in two years that my family has come to Roatan and stayed at La Diosa. As with our first stay, everything was first class. From the moment we arrived at the airport greeted by Jami (the property manager), to arriving at the house to meet the new care taker and finding the starter food items in the fridge and the pantry, to the wonderful quiet ad relaxed days during our stay (despite a few issues with the power going off on the island), and finishing off with the sad departure good byes on our last day. You could not ask for a better home, a better property manager, a better care taker, or better owners/hosts. The new stairs down to the dock were great. Kayaking off of the private pier was awesome, as was the private snorkeling we did. Access to great restaurants (thanks to the guidance from Jami). If you are coming here be prepared to enjoy a relaxing - comfortable and quiet stay. Do plan to rent a vehicle unless your plan is to stay at the house the entire time - as it will be needed to get around to the different sites around the island. Even the furthest points on the island within a short drive. This is one of our favorite spots to vacation by far.

Wonderful family vacation at La Diosa!
La Diosa is sprawling, airy, and spectacular with gorgeous views! Lots of room for our family of 8 incl. 3 little ones. We loved the multiple levels & decks, beautiful decor, cleanliness & the infinity pool was a daily/nightly ritual. The home is in a remote part of the island -exactly what we wanted -away from the cruisers and resorts. It was recommended that we rent a 4WD, and they were right. You need it at least for clearance on the very bumpy roads. Jami and Ed, the house managers, were super nice, knowledgable, and always responsive. Jami met us at the airport, took us grocery shopping when we first got there and gave us Roatan insider tips. We had an issue with the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms and they had an AC guy out there promptly to fix it. Efraim, the caretaker, was on-site and took care of the pool and grounds. We invited Efraim to have dinner with us one night and enjoyed talking about the culture in Roatan. I had read many reviews about bugs, but we didn't really encounter too many. The "no see ums" got a few of us, but they didn't bother us too much and didn't itch. We did put "OFF" on occasionally, but no big deal. Our favorite things (in no particular order): 1.) Temporary Cal's Cantina - truly the best food we had on the island! It was close to the house and has gorgeous views. The food was incredible and inexpensive. Hint: They are only open 3-4 days during the week, so get there early as it fills up quick. We actually went two days in a row we were so impressed. 2.) Little French Key. We went twice! A tiny private island that's fun for the entire family and tranquil and too. They have a 2-level bar that you can jump off the top deck into the water...the teens especially loved this and even my five year old jumped! The water is zero entry on the beaches so great for kids. Hint: go early & don't go on cruise day! 3.) La Sirena. A quaint little restaurant off the beaten path that sits on a pier...lots of shells and shallow water for the little ones to explore while we sipped our drinks. 4.) Paya Bay- we visited Bliss Beach, and walked a narrow path to the end of the rocky cliff that overlooked the sea. Unreal. 5.) Ruthless Charters. 6 of us went fishing. Fun & friendly captain, first mate, and crewmate. We caught tuna, and had the freshest sushi ever, right there on the boat! Other Hints: Joshua at Roatan Best Car is true to his word. La Diosa was perfect for us! We will definitely be returning!

Wonderful TRip
From the beginning was a definite plus. Owners were extremely good about communicating about what we should expect. Staff was the best. Even the "guard dogs" were wonderful. Loved the outside shower, we took several showers a day!! The view was breath taking from all over the house-really miss it since we are home. Best place in the world to enjoy your morning coffee.
Islanders were friendly and helpful-but again I cannot say enough about the staff and the beautiful home. Looking forward to a return visit-this needs to be shared.

More beautiful than expected!
Our family of 6 adults spent a wonderful week at La Diosa del Sol. The villa had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing vacation. The property manager, Jami and on site caretaker, Efrain were knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We reviewed many rental properties on VBRO before choosing La Diosa. This villa is even better than what is shown on the web site.
