About this house rental
Number 7 Coastguard Cottages is a 3 bedroom terraced Victorian Cottage forming part of a row of old coastguard cottages right next to the beach at Jury’s Gap, Camber Sands. Just walk out of the door, through the garden and up the steps of the sea wall to get onto the sandy beach. There are spectacular sea views from the upstairs windows.
Number 7 has just been completely renovated with all new electrics, plumbing, kitchen, bathrooms and interiors. The style is light and airy with lots of pale painted wooden floors, whitewashed brick walls, Victorian style bathrooms and retro fittings where possible but without sacrificing comfort. Heating is by electric Victorian-style column radiators and all the windows have removable secondary glazing so it is lovely and cosy in winter. There is a huge hot water tank so you should always be able to have a hot bath or shower when you get back from the beach.
Park your car at the end of the little coastal garden and walk up the steps to the pale blue front door. Enter into the brand new galley kitchen fully equipped with pale grey units, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer.
Step up from the kitchen into the dining room with Victorian dresser, bench seating and dining table to seat 6 people plus a small sofa for relaxing. Through the dining room is the TV room with huge corner sofa and 46” wall-mounted TV.
Downstairs in the basement is a cosy bedroom (with window) with a king size bed and a bathroom with freestanding Victorian style bath with shower taps, basin and toilet. NB the basement ceiling is quite low so tall people might be better in the upstairs bedroom!
The storage/laundry room with washing machine and cleaning equipment is also in the basement.
Up the Victorian staircase from the dining room, is the first floor with another light and airy double bedroom with king size bed and a large bathroom with freestanding bath, shower enclosure, basin and toilet. Wonderful views of the beach from all windows in this floor.
From the first floor landing, climb up the quaint little stairs into the attic room with two Velux windows giving fantastic views along the beautiful coastline. In this room are two small single beds which can be fitted together with zip and link mattresses to make a king size double bed if required.

The house was beautifully presented but. There is an overriding smell of damp particularly in the basement and attic bedrooms. There is major work being carried out in the sea defences and the main work storage site is between the house and the beach.Wirk noisily started at 7am. The front door lock really should be replaced. It was a nightmare to open the door from outside

We had a great time. Two older adults, two 18 year olds and a child, plus dog. The location is wonderful - we were blessed with good weather. Close to the beach. The house is very comfortable. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed it very much.
Too bad of the construction work near the accommodation.

The rain and wind were a perfect combination for us -- we had the beach largely to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed our dog walks. So close and convenient, it was a treat. And the Cottage was very cozy!

The cottage is in the perfect location being 2 minutes from the beach. The views are amazing.
The cottage is very comfortable with quirky decor. Everything we needed was there with the addition of a lovely cake.
We’d definitely stay again.

Quirky and homely
Perfectly situated for beach lovers, beautiful Sandy beach when the tide is out.
The property is spread over four floors with quite narrow stairs, this wasn’t a problem for us but I could see potential difficulties for some.
Access to the house is also via several wooden steps.
We stayed here for three nights, spending the days visiting various villages. Transport is a must as there’s very little in walking distance.
We would definitely stay here again, we found it peaceful, relaxing and very homely.

Fantastic location for dog walking on Camber Sands
Lovely coastguard cottage. Fantastic Bedrooms, beds and linen.
Nice welcome goodies in fridge.
Only criticisms would be that the oven needs a deep clean as smoked when cooking and back door lock was a tad tricky.
But would have no hesitation to go back. Most enjoyable stay.

Location, location, location
What a fab holiday we have just returned from! Stunning location with beach right on doorstep. We had some fab walks in the wind with waves breaking over the sea wall and brill times on the beach on sunny calm days. Perfect for a get away from it all chill out. Number 7 coastguards Cottages has been renovated to a great standard with calming decor and comfy beds and sofas, everything we needed.

Fantastic
Such a find! An amazing location - the beach is just stunning! We had a wonderful time. It blew my 5 year old's mind to have what felt like a private beach and such a flat one (you have to walk a long time out to sea to find deep water) made it really easy for her. And perfect sandcastle sand :)
Property itself was also superb. Really well equipped. My daughter loved her little attic room and we were really comfortable in the main bedroom. Plenty of space, kitchen easy, coffee machine a life saver :)
Everything really easy. Just had a wonderful break

Coastguards cottage, Jury's Gap
A great "Getaway" cottage thoughtfully prepared and with a welcoming feel. It was easy to slip into feeling relaxed and the beach was great for regular dog walking. Good information about the locality including restaurants. If you prefer to avoid hustle and bustle this could just be the place to stay.
Thank you.

Perfection
This was the perfect property and location for us with 6 adults and two dogs. The cottage was just a two minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach which was ideal with the dogs. The cottage itself was beautifully presented with some quirky features adding to its charm. Everything was catered for, with plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils in the kitchen. There were board games, books and DVDs in the lounge to keep you amused if you so wished.
With a nautical theme running through out the cottage each room was painted white and so looked clean and bright. With 6 of us staying we never felt crowded as there were 4 floors. Any questions we had before we went were quickly answered by Nicola the host. It was perfect and we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely return.

Lovely Break
Booked last minute to catch a few days of warm weather. Booking very easy and Nicola was a star to fit us in. Would have looked a few more days if the property hadn’t been booked already. Lovely position very close to the beach which was like your own private one being a little distance from the more commercialised Camber Sands. Property decor very much in line with the name, very quirky and interesting. Wonderful quality bedding and great bathrooms which felt like new. Would definitely return for another stay in the future

An escape from the crowds
We were hoping for a holiday where we had plenty of space to run about on the beach and swim in the sea - this house is so close to the sea and so far from the crowds of Camber that it totally met our hopes and expectations.

A wonderful week
From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Nicola was attentive and made sure everything was ready for us and explained all of the COVID-19 rules etc.
We stayed for four nights; four adults, one child and two dogs. We absolutely loved it and felt at home straight away.
We would definitely recommend it to our family and friends. It's a real treasure of a place.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome, Nicola. x

Brilliant break
Great property. So well equipped, fitted and decorated. Super dog friendly. Not bombarded with lots of rules like so many places. I defy you to get much nearer to miles of mostly deserted beach. Just awesome. Thanks Nicola!

Beautiful Home. Brilliantly equipped. Very well taken care of by host with welcoming touches.
Great location and felt very relaxed even with my father in law and 3 children in tow.

Fabulous cottage just a few steps from miles of sandy beaches.
This lovely cottage was just a few steps from miles of almost deserted sandy beach. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated to a high standard and is both clean and comfortable. It is also very well equipped and stocked with the basics kitchen and cleaning items. The owner was kind enough to leave a welcome pack for us, including treats for our dog. We will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful Easter Weekend
We had a wonderful time at the Fishman’s cottage which is which is beautifully and newly decorated - really stylishly decked out - and best of all is literally yards from the sea (views from most rooms). When we arrived there were treats for the dog, milk and hot cross buns. All in all a complete joy.
