Blues City Abode will have you humming a tune. Memphis music themed, large 2BR 1BA with bonus room, that is a downstairs portion of a midtown home (duplex) with ~8 minute walk to historic Cooper-Young’s restaurants.

1 King bed, 1 queen bed, and bonus flex room with a day bed that has 2 twins. A full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals with free coffee, tea, and decaf! Table with seating up to 6 in the flex room, work desk in the front room.

We don't want to be just another midtown home experience. Themed for the Memphis music lover, we have artwork from local Shelby County school students, photography, and even instruments on hand.

Parking is a breeze for one vehicle in the back off the home. Upstairs portion of this home is also set up as an short term rental (King Sized Retreat). Ask about how to book both spaces for even more flexibility! We live very close by, so if you do have an unusual request then we can accommodate quickly!

We love Memphis, and hope we express that with our place. Being Short Term Rental hosts is very important to us. You aren't staying in a hotel here. We care about your experience, and hope it shows!

Guests will have access to the entire space. The Blues City Abode is setup as a full time short term rental. Your booking is connected to our Igloo Smart Lock Box, where you will be given a unique code to get your keys when you arrive to make self check in a breeze!

We are happy to meet our guest if they like, but at the same time we understand people enjoy their privacy. We'd love to interact as much as the guests like, but at the same time we respect guest's wishes to have a no hassle experience.

For us, Cooper-Young is home. It is where we choose to live, work, and play. Raising our child here has provided a rich, rewarding experience. We can't imagine any where else we'd want to be in Memphis.

Since we're a bit partial, we thought a brief explanation from Memphis Travel's site description might be a good summary of our 'hood: Cooper-Young is one of Memphis' most vibrant and active neighborhoods, with a storied history of art, music, and markets. Johnny Cash recorded his first album in the basement of the Galloway Church here, and the state's largest art festival is held here every year.

Today when you visit, you can see historic homes - most were built before 1915 and the neighborhood is a part of the National Register of Historic Places - and enjoy a plethora of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. It's the perfect place to wander and explore, and to get to know Memphis a little better.

We are about a 10 minute ride to downtown. Typical fares for Uber or Lyft to downtown are about $10.

Off street parking is for one space in the back of the home.

We were in Memphis for my daughter’s “Sweet 16”. We enjoyed the Blue City Abode. Location was fabulous, we loved the area. House was clean and spacious. Traveling was myself, daughter and my mother, we definitely felt safe. The only draw back for us was I didn’t realize we would be sharing the property with Upstairs guest (overhead noise ) or cottage in back.(lacked outside privacy) would love to have furniture on porch in front. Would we stay there again, definitely so.

This was the cutest place to stay. They thought of everything. It was so close to downtown and all of the attractions that we were there to see. The communication was very well established and maintained. When we go back again to Memphis, and this place is available, we will be staying here again.

This house was very clean and well organized. My three young kids loved sleeping in the king bed all together. The convenience of the parking, the full size fridge and the large couch to enjoy a family movie night was a nice change from hotel vacations. We even took advantage of the board games! Thank you for having us.

Slept great. Super close to so much. One bathroom but for the four of us it was fine. We toured Memphis during the day and curled up on the couch for family movie night. Super nice owners. If ever in Memphis again we would stay again.

The property is just as pictured. It’s a charming house with so much character. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. Great location. Quick drive to museums, restaurants, a grocery store and so much more. We’ll definitely be back!

The house has character, and although it is rather old (early 19 hundreds), it is equipped with everything you might need. Communication with the owners Chris and Debbie was quick, easy, and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

We truly enjoyed staying at this property, and we're pleasantly surprised and how close we were to everything. Chris is very attentive and answered any questions quickly. Overall this was a great getaway.

The house is very spacious. Plenty of room for the kids and adults to have their own space. Every thing you need to make a meal is in the kitchen. Bathroom is great, shower is huge. Outdoor space is great too. Close to grocery, restaurants, and $7 uber ride to Beale street. I will definitely be staying here again.

We thorough enjoyed our stay at the Blues City Abode. The house was the perfect size for our party of 3, but could have comfortably fit more. Absolutely loved the houses vibe and style and the street felt safe a welcoming. The owner was particularly helpful, and extremely quick and attentive to all our needs. He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! We also thought the location was perfect, as literally everything we wanted to do was within 10-15 minutes, including the airport! We would absolutely stay here again and hope to get the chance to!

Convenient location, quiet neighborhood and host was quick to respond. Would have liked to enjoy outdoor patio but it had not been swept/cleaned. Would recommend a couple kitchen basics like measuring cups/spoons. House was very comfortable! Appreciated the extra blankets for cool nights.

We did a girls trip to Memphis for a long weekend. This place was spacious, clean, well appointed and convenient to everything we wanted to do. The host was attentive and patient with all our questions. Also, the parking was off street and safe. We’d definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Blue City Abode for spring break. The place was clean and very comfortable for us. The owner supplies coffee, filters and cream so you don't have to run to the store right away. Kitchen is fully stocked. Great location although coming in we were a little worried about the area. Overall it is centrally located to everything we wanted to do. We loved learning about the music history and we had a good time!

Had most everything needed for the stay. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was a decent size, wish it was equipped a little more, but had enough to work with. Had a tenant above that was a little noisy at early hours, but overall not bad for the price we paid.
