the cottage is stunning and in a great location!
10.0
We had the most wonderful stay at Maggie Jane's Cottage - the scenery from the kitchen and out the back was absolutely stunning. We were here for a family member's 70th birthday and we could not have wanted anything more than what we got.
The kids absolutely loved the swings and slides and there were 3 different areas to sit and relax and take in the view.
Unfortunately our weather wasn't great on the Saturday (it rained very heavy all day) but we had the lovely cozy fire on and we enjoyed a little trip into Carlingford, however the kids couldn't wait to get back to the house! They loved the space!
The bedrooms were perfect, the kids room had two double beds adjoined (very cleverly put together) and the birthday girl had the nice double room with the beautiful view. There were two bathrooms - one with a shower and the other one with a bath (no shower in this one) - there were plenty of towels and toilet rolls (only thing missing was the handwash, but we had our own). The beds were so comfy - and everyone had a great nights sleep.
The kitchen was open plan with a huge table that sat 8 and there was a breakfast bar area that sat another 3 people - the kids loved the breakfast bar area and the scenery again from here was stunning!
The kitchen had mostly everything you could need with a pantry to put all your food/snacks and a double fridge/freezer. There was even an actifry which came in brilliant for doing some chips for the kids! the only item missing from the kitchen we could see was a jug for making up juice for the kids, but we made do! All in all we had the most amazing family weekend and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family weekend away in a beautiful location that is easy to get to from all directions. It is an excellent set up and the work that has been put into this cottage is a testament to the owners- they have done a wonderful job. Thanks for letting us stay and we will be back!
The rain on Saturday!
Which is absolutely nothing you can prevent! We had the most beautiful day on Friday and Sunday though which made up for the rain on Saturday! :)

Comfortable, great view
Grubby, lighting very poor, shower was extremely hot and difficult to control, front door was unmanageable so we used the back door, no logs for the fire and bath is not in use. Lacked proper glasses and not enough of them. We had no instructions as to get into the house and were able to get in by chance as we found keys under a rock. Tried phoning but no one answered our call.

We stayed here as a group for two nights. The cottage was top class, great value for money and plenty of room for everyone. We had good weather too so we were able to sit outside around the fire pit in the evenings. Situated between Omeath and Carlingford so the taxi journey was 5 minutes in either direction. Would definitely stay here again.
While we can't fault the hosts or the property, the neighbours on the hill above us complained about the "racket" for the entire first evening we were there, despite their property being the length of a football field away and even with us having the windows shut...and it being 8 o clock in the evening. Other than that, no issues

Perfect location, stunning cottage that was the perfect for our group. Was very comfortable and had beautiful views. Would definitely stay here again, especially for the summer
We didn't have enough towels and some information on the heating, tv, etc would've been nice but not a major problem

Everything
The fact that there were no instructions for cooker as the main oven did not turn on and we had brought along a big meal to cook for our first night, intending to stay in and catch up.
Also there was a TV without a manual and we could not tune it in.
I really feel that the addition of manuals/information would enhance the experience and avoid frustration.
