Casa Jirafa is a one bedroom loft located just half a block away from stunning Santa Lucia Square. Jirafa gets its name from the shape of the bedroom balcony overlooking the open concept living space. Just off to the side is an indoor spa room to cool off from Merida's sun.

Casa Jirafa is not only beautiful to look at, it's location could not be more perfect to visit the most exciting places within Merida's Centro.

It is located just half a block from Santa Lucia Square, which has some of Merida's best restaurants and a traditional cultural show every Thursday night. Jirafa is also just a short walk to the main square, also called the "zocalo". There you can visit the oldest cathedral of the Americas or Casa de Montejo, the palace of the Spanish conquistador, and much more.

The Casa itself is a one bedroom loft with two full baths, one en suite and the other is located off the main living area. The bedroom has a Romeo and Juliet style balcony on the second floor, giving the majority of the space towering two story ceilings. Jirafa has its own unique style with custom pasta tile artwork to a private spa room with a green wall located right next to the living space.

The master has a comfy queen size bed and an ensuite bath. It also has its own TV equipped with a PS3 so you can watch your own movies and even play games. The living room has a pull-out sleep sofa for extra guests. The entire space is newly renovated but preserves the colonial architecture.

Extras: We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided -- no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics. Also, every stay includes free beers so you start start your vacation immediately upon arriving. Don't worry if you forgot your shampoo because both bathrooms are equipped with their own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers. Hi-speed wifi is available throughout the property. Cable and Netflix access is also provided. Just come, relax and enjoy your vacation!

Let us help you book tours, make reservations, arrange for transfers, or even arrange for romantic intimate dinners cooked by a private chef at Casa Jirafa. If you need a car, we recommend Xootrip, a car rental service which will deliver and pick up the car from the house and which provides special discounts to Burro y Flauta guests.

All of our guests are welcome to the entirety of the home and have access to use anything on the property including the kitchen, pool, and any other amenities.

Check in is available after 3pm. Check out is before 11am. We may be able to accommodate an early check-in if availability allows. -

Reservations during Christmas, New Year, and Semana Santa (Easter) require a five night minimum stay. -

We allow smoking on the balconies and any of the outdoor areas but it is prohibited inside the property. -

Please respect the propert held when the reservation is made to cover any damage during the stay. An additional security deposit will be required for stays longer than one month. Maid fee: For rentals in excess of 1 week, weekly cleaning will be provided at no extra charge. Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes. Furniture and décor from pictures may differ. We are always upgrading and improving the look and feel of our property for the comfort and pleasure of our guests.
