About this house rental

Traveler's Retreat is a quiet cottage on a beautiful neighborhood street in Historic Savannah. Just a few minutes walk from Forsyth Park, this Beach Institute gem is a refuge from the rush and the throngs of the downtown. Set back amongst the squares and side streets of Old Savannah, with its lush, private courtyard and cool, diffused light, our hope is that you will find that the Retreat is the perfect place to recharge after a long day of salt and sun on Tybee, or seeing the sights in downtown.

The master bedroom has a custom made king bed, and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the main bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower. The kitchen is newly updated, with an electric range, oven, and microwave, and all the amenities you will need to make yourself at home. The couch in the living room folds out to comfortably sleep two more, and there is a dining room off of the kitchen that seats six.

Washer/dryer, television, linens, towels, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are provided. And if you are bringing equipment like kayaks, bikes, or items for the beach, we have a separate storage building on the property to keep your belonging secure without bringing the great outdoors inside with you.

Traveler's Retreat is your private residence in Savannah, and it's good for couples, families with kids, and groups of friends.

From start to finish this town, property and agenda was everything I hoped it would be. This property had it all…charm, beauty, convince, details and a great location. Perfect landing spot for my queen to say “YES” to forever. Savannah, we will be back soon.

We loved our stay! The house was exactly as described. Communication with the host was thorough. We loved the convenient location. It was about a 20 minute walk to all of our destinations. Quiet neighborhood. We loved the journal to share our experiences with the next guest and even took dinner suggestions from previous renters. The house does require the use of steps which may not be conducive for all travelers. If we ever return to the Savannah, we will definitely look into this rental again!

Wonderful house, clean and comfortable. Jack the owner provided great info on Savannah and places to shop, dine, and visit. We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere and enjoy the beautiful streets and squares. Highly recommend this place 🙂👍

I stayed at the house for a weekend with girlfriends for a weekend away. It was perfect. The house is so cute and comfortable. There were plenty of towels and paper products, and the beds were both very comfortable. It was clean and cozy. It’s a bit of a walk to get closer to the river, but easily doable. Quiet area and lots of places to eat close by. Would recommend and would stay again. Communication was great as well.

Very comfortable and convenient for easy walk to historic district and area historic homes and sites! Visited with friends from North Carolina for the annual Garden Club of Savannah Hidden Gardens Tour and a relaxing weekend! Wonderful host with great communication and quick response to any messages. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience the charm of Savannah! Hope for a return visit soon!

This was my first visit to Savannah, this was the perfect home for our visit. It was walking distance to all sites and transportation, but very quiet at night. The house was in great shape and had all amenities available. I would definitely stay here again, website description is totally accurate!

Our family of three really enjoyed our stay here- the house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Although it’s a little bit away from downtown and River street, it’s quite central to many of Savannah’s sites and you can walk to most places in about 20-30 minutes. The owner, Jack, was responsive to questions and went out of his way to provide lots of local recommendations for restaurants and activities.

Everything was perfect for friend trip for 2. Loved the front porch swing! Great location, nicely decorated and had everything you would need. Other than the front steps, there are no steps in the house except for a small step down to dining room. Spent 3 nights and loved it!

This was a fantastic spot for a Savannah getaway at Christmas time. The house is well-located, well-equipped and even had a tremendous backyard patio. Spending the end of a sightseeing day under the palm trees is my idea of relaxing!

We really enjoyed our stay at the travelers retreat. Jack was a great host, his communication before our stay was great and he answered all of my questions. The home is very comfortable, the beds are comfy, kitchen is fully stocked and parking on the street was easy in December. Will definitely be using this page as a go to in Savannah!

Perfect location and layout of home. Two bedrooms and bathrooms with very comfortable beds. Tastefully decorated. We loved the fiber art on the walls and photos (I believe Ecuador or Peru?). Wish I had asked. It was a lovely stay and Jack was super helpful. We packed in the week with activities all around Savannah and SCAD Museum of Art and The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum close by. This will be our go to rental when we visit Savannah again.

Great house and great location in the historic district. Within walking distance of all the sights. Well stocked, immaculate condition. Perfect size for two ladies. On street parking was always available. Will stay there again when visiting Savannah.

Travelers Retreat was very clean and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Had everything we needed. Quiet neighborhood. Parking was a bit challenging. We walked downtown which I enjoyed. You can catch the trolley a couple blocks away which was also nice. We would stay there again.

The house was perfect fo me, my 20 year old granddaughter and her 21 year old boyfriend. We walked to all the places we wanted to see; Forsyth Park, Sorell/Weed house, River Street, and places featured in the book, "Midnight in the Garden of good and evil." The food was excellant! And I can't say enough positive things about the Host, Jack and the beautiful house. Everything was wonderful...It felt like home!

Amazing property with perfect location to everything we wanted to do. We have stayed in Savannah several times and will definitely return to stay in this house Spacious living. Comfy beds. 2 bathrooms and nice outdoor space. We walked everywhere from River Street to Forsyth park to the Starland Yard.

We booked this property for an entire month and absolutely loved our stay. It was hard to leave. The location was good, we walked 90% of the time. It was quiet, clean and comfy. We really enjoyed our private outside spaces; back courtyard and front porch with a swing. The host/owner was very nice and welcoming. Also, we felt very safe in the neighborhood.

Traveler’s retreat was the perfect spot to stay in Savannah. It’s walking distance (about 10-20 minutes walk) to everything in downtown Savannah, great location for walking and wandering around. Yet it’s off the main streets so it is quiet and cozy. Jack, the host, was extremely responsive, informative and kind. The house itself is adorable - very clean, well maintained and great decor. Comfy beds and living spaces. I will stay here again next time I’m visiting Savannah!
