It’s nice and covenant but could use some updates. Checking in wasn’t great.. we had to change rooms the next day. Waitress at restaurant wasn’t too friendly.

River Street Inn is a charming converted cotton warehouse located in historic Savannah. A lot of good restaurants within walking distance. Conveniently located for historic tours as well.
4.5
The double french doors with the artificial light shining in need curtains. The blinds alone do not mask the brightness. There was quite a bit of noise outside both nights as well. The hotel was conveniently located and charming.
4.5
Beautiful repurposing of a historic building located right on the river. Perfect location! Outstanding service!

This was our second stop on our honeymoon road trip and it was amazing. All the staff, valets and adjoining restaurant staff were very kind and helpful. Would recommend the Riverside Inn to anyone

Beware: hotels.com charges a $32/night resort fee on this property. However, the hotel itself also charged me a second $30/night destination fee.
This is deceptive and unfair.
Hotels.com couldn't explain why it charged 32% in fees when the tax rate on Hotels is 7 or 8%.
And the hotel had no visibility into what Hotels.com charged in the taxes and fees section of the receipt.
All in, it's a nice enough hotel, but this was an unfortunate and unfair policy.

We definitely enjoyed our stay. Only issue i have with the hotel is that my truck was to big for valet parking. Luckily the valets were GREAT, and squared me away. We really enjoyed the daily managers meet and greet, but we never met the manager. Overall we will most definitely be back. Next time for a week.

The staff person who checked me in was so friendly and polite. The hotel is beautiful inside with great views. It’s convenient to River Street and most of downtown.
My only complaint is the cleaning in the bathroom was subpar. The shower floor still appeared to be dirty and the corners in the bathrooms were not clean.
4.5
Neat old hotel with lots of upgrades/updates. Remember that floor 4 is street level and floor 1 is river level.
Easy check in/out and everyone was friendly. Food at Broken Keel was good, server had an off day and was a bit grouchy, but fine.
Location was great. Trolly tour picks you up just down the street.

Location was wonderful the staff was so nice fantastic place to stay with definitely recommend to family and friends cannot say enough good things about this hotel first time in Savannah definitely will be back, The valet come and greet less as soon as we pulled up was absolutely awesome his name was Bryce he and the rest the staff was absolutely wonderful

Room was a little dusty and sticky, but with an older building and high humidity to be expected. You could feel the history in the brick walls. Only disappointment was the valet service.
4.5
The place was lovely, but my room had a bit of an odd smell, nothing that couldn't be ignored. What was unfortunate, and not the property's fault, was that the city was dredging the river literally right outside our windows and the noise was like setting up next to a jackhammer festival. What's more, it didn't stop, it went most all night long so that was a serious bummer. PLUS, somewhere between Hotels.com and the hotel my rates and booking are all messed up and I ended up being charged about $250 more than I had anticipated and now I'm going to have to spend post-vacation time trying to figure that out. I'm not quite sure who to be irritated with about that. From what I could tell standing in line waiting to check in, MULTIPLE people were having billing issues all via 3rd party reservations. While not the property's fault necessarily, these things tend to sour what should be a luxurious and relaxing stay so I probably wouldn't return.

We had no hot water for 2 of 3 nights…and we had to shower in another room 2 floors above ours for 2 days. They moved us to another room on 3rd day…and they only reduced our bill by the occupancy tax. $430 per night for a room without a shower. Years of travel and 3rd time at this hotel …this was the worst because they didn’t care.

My stay was amazing and exactly the type of atmosphere I was looking for. The walls are thin so you’ll hear everything but it didn’t bother me at all. The location of this hotel is perfect making it easy to get around to food, drinks, music, and other activities. I think my favorite part was looking out the window and watching the ships pass by.

I feel that the reception gathering wasn't good at all. The food could have been alot better. No meat at all!!!
Our bed bolts were loose
Everytime we turned the bed squeezed and rocked

Booked 2-3 weeks before stay, when arrived I checked the prices and they were 50% cheaper through the same web site hotels.com. I felt betrayed by this site because of the pricing. Booking early should have been cheaper.

Manager’s reception was a great perk! Managers, employees all very helpful and professional. Our room/bathroom were a good size. We will definitely book at River Street Inn again.

Me and my wife went for our 4th anniversary. We ended up in tropical storm Debby. The staff was amazing. The manager was very nice and we had few issues but wasn't much they could do about it considering it was a tropical storm she wanted to make it right and is comfortable. Even the cleaning staff was friendly and when i say they clean. They clean!!

Staff is exceptionally nice.

Service was amazing, staff very friendly and helpful.
Acknowledged our wedding anniversary with a complimentary bottle of champagne.
Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.
Parking valet was very helpful in finding a great spot for our vehicle. Our stay was absolutely fantastic.
Thank you River Street staff!

Amazing hotel. Staff is polite and engaging. The hotel is set on the River with beautiful views . Very romantic.

This hotel is not an 8.8 rating as shown. There’s a musty smell throughout the entire building, especially in the room itself. Location is good, but hotel is not.
4.5
This. Hotel smelled horrible. I asked the staff to address it and they did nothing.
It smells like clothes that didn’t dry and became musty. It was disgusting

The room i stayed in had a balcony. Well there was a bad storm so all thr water ran inside the door. The weather stripping is gone under the door.. so there has to be mold and mildew in the room. Also inwas not informed thwre was no parking. Paid $45 for valet that took 30 minute to bring my car. Also there was a $30 resort fee that i was nit aware about. For the price i would have atayed somewhere else.

Hotels.com advertise this hotel with a pool. This hotel has not had a pool since the 2019 COVID. I request some sort of refund. Not happy with your misleading advertising. I'm an old great customer but I will go elsewhere.

We liked being able to access both River and Bay Streets from hotel.

Very nice hotel

Very nice, historic property on the Savannah River. Perfect location to explore the historic district, and in walking distance to many fine dining options. Rooms are spacious, and have so much charm. The manager’s reception daily from 4:00-5:00 is a must! Also, the attached restaurant, Broken Keel, offers a fantastic breakfast. If you stay at River Street Inn, you will receive discounts at Broken Keel, and Bootleggers. We would definitely stay here again.

Managers reception was awesome! food and drink were superb!

The room and hotel itself was amazing, but the check in process was lacking. Check in is at 4, I was driving into town earlier than that so checked in with the hotel around 2 and they told me the room wasn’t ready but took my name and number and said I would get a call when I could return to pick up my keys. When 4pm came around I tried numerous times to call the hotel myself, wondering if i could return yet, got no answer. Went back to the hotel myself around 4:45 or so and was told the room had been ready and given no answer why I wasn’t called. Not a good look to wait for a room of that price - that late - into a one night stay.

Very unique place to stay. Very clean. Quiet except Saturday night street noise.

Check in was good, check out ok, but the Night person at front desk was great, very friendly and helpful. Great advice on things to do and places to eat. After dinner, when we pulled back the comforter on the bed that night, it had what appeared to be blood stains on it. I went to the front desk showed pictures to night person and he immediately gave us a new room. While the 2nd room was right across the hall, and a larger room, not sure it was worth the price.

Perfect stay as always! Loved the updates to the inn.

The valet parking is too pricey

Extremely noisy on the city view side
