Welcome to Stone Mountain Lodge!
Stone Mountain Lodge sits at over 4,000 feet in elevation on a peaceful, private 7 acres, both wooded and cleared. This property boasts beautiful panoramic short and long-range layered mountaintop views, including Beech Mountain and Grandfather Mountain. On a clear day, you can see over fifty miles. Beech Mountain Ski Resort is a short, scenic 17-mile drive from the lodge, but you can take in the tranquil, illuminated sight of it each night from the back decks during ski season.
The main floor features hardwood floors and vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings. The open concept great room offers a comfy sectional sofa, a stone fireplace with gas logs, a 55-inch LED Smart HDTV, and a wall of windows framing the mountaintop panorama.
The kitchen has granite countertops, a custom travertine backsplash, stainless appliances, and a breakfast nook that enjoys the view. The formal dining room has a dining table that seats ten (10) guests. The generous main floor master suite has a king bed, a gas log fireplace, a 48-inch HDTV, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom equipped with a double-sink vanity, an oversized tiled shower, and a jetted jacuzzi-style tub. The main level also offers a laundry room with a washer and dryer and a half-bath/powder room.
Upstairs offers two queen suites, each with HDTVs and BluRay players, comfy futon sleeper sofas for relaxing and additional sleeping, walk-in closets, and ensuite bathrooms with jetted tubs. Both queen suites have vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, hardwood floors with dormers, and windows with mountain views.
The owners have just completed an additional sleeping wing on the lower level, bringing the bedroom count to five (5), a new total of four and a half (4.5) bathrooms, and sleeping accommodations for up to fifteen (15) guests. The new lower-level wing features a king bedroom with an HD Smart TV and a bunk bedroom with a hand-hewn, twin-over-full log bunk bed. These two bedrooms have windows with views and share a full bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower with a tiled surround. This addition shares the attention to detail and level of quality befitting the rest of the lodge. We are excited to offer this to our future and returning guests! The 3D Virtual Tour does not include the new addition, so please see the photos to view this new space.
Downstairs is an open game room and movie room with an 8-foot slate pool table, an air hockey table, comfy reclining sofas, and an HD projector TV. All 5 HDTVs and the projector screen offer satellite TV programming, along with WiFi and Smart TV features. There is also a queen sleeper sofa downstairs for additional sleeping options.
All bedrooms and living areas have been recently re-decorated, including new lighting and modern, tasteful, mountain-chic wall and bedroom decor. The ridgetop view, improved by removing some trees and overgrowth, now includes Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, and numerous other peaks previously hidden. These new panoramic views are a wonderful addition to Stone Mountain Lodge.
The covered rear deck stretches the entire width of the house. Just outside of the kitchen are a stainless gas grill and an outdoor dining table. On the other end of the main level deck site is the large hot tub. Comfortable and relaxing outdoor deck seating spans the rest of the deck, along with rocking chairs for that full mountain-life ambiance. The lower deck provides access to the backyard and the lower outdoor fire pit. There are two fire pits, one at the head of the driveway featuring a stone bench and fire bowl, the other in a clearing down below, about 25 yards from the house, offering Adirondack chairs and rustic stump seating. There is an attached garage, ample parking near the front door, in front of the garage, and around the lower side of the house. Six to seven vehicles can comfortably park here.
Stone Mountain Lodge is in the Bethel mountain community eighteen (18) miles from Boone and the same distance from Banner Elk. The NC/TN line and Cherokee National Forest are within walking distance from the lodge. Close to Johnson City, Mountain City, and Elizabethton, as well as Watauga Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, and Grandfather Mountain, all less than thirty (30) miles away. The Watauga River is close by and provides outdoor recreation opportunities like tubing, rafting, fishing, and hiking. For ski and snow enthusiasts, Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only seventeen (17) miles away and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is twenty-six (26) miles away.

This cabin is much roomier inside and out than the photos depict! With 3 couples and one single adult, we brought in a ton of supplies for the week so the space was appreciated. Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Beds were all very comfy but a little tall for a 5 ft person. Bathrooms were updated and clean. Weather was gorgeous so we enjoyed the porch, hot tub and fire pit area. We arrived in October at peak leaf change. The whole week was amazing views of mountains, leaves and beautiful Fall sights. Saw deer every day down the back yard. The drive to cabin was not bad. Not too far from Boone NC or Blowing Rock. We will be back one day!

This home was fantastic. Very clean, nice! A tad bit further to restaurants than I wanted - but that was my fault! (Small kids are a lot to keep in a car long periods of time) I didn’t research enough! It was lovely. Management was lovely. Home was clean! Would totally stay again!

Accommodations were fantastic and house was relatively close to local attractions.

Overall it was an amazing house! Comfy rooms, enough bathrooms for everyone, gorgeous views, loved the ample space outside for our dog to run and play, location was good (about 40+/- to everywhere), quick response from hosts.
Only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is because of the dirty floors. They had been vacuumed/sweeped but not mopped. Everything else felt clean, just the floors felt like they hadn’t been mopped in a while. Other than that everything was amazing! Would recommend!

We fell in love with the home & views, & all the property has to offer. It was perfect for our blended family of 10. We spent almost every night out by the fire pit & played many rounds of Texas Hold’em & Blackjack at the table on the porch. The tweens & teens loved the pool table, air hockey, & foosball. The 16yo video game enthusiast was in heaven playing on the video projector downstairs. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. We hope to visit again.

We all enjoyed our stay. This a nice clean and spacious place.
If I have to say somethkng, the gas grill wasn't working properly, very low flames so far to get heat and the dishwasher wasn't working well either (dishes were not coming out clean after a cycle. maybe it is just a matter of cleaning the filter).

This property was gorgeous inside and out and was very spacious. Our group enjoyed the hot tub and the view and cooked in a few nights. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances - even had a mixer and a slow cooker. There are plenty of bathrooms and they all are very nicely finished. We went on a short nearby hike to Laurel Creek Falls and enjoyed climbing on all the rocks. Also went to Boone to wander around a bit and hit up the Lost Province brewery and Pizza joint - great beer, mixed drinks and wine as well as delicious pizza!

We were having the whole family together for Christmas for the first time in many years. They wanted to go to the mountains and get a Christmas tree like we used to do when they were young. So, it was my job as Mom to put everything together. The children and grandchildren were coming in from Japan and the western and northern USA. This was in important gathering. The pictures on the site do not actually do this property justice. Our first view from the road as we arrived was "OMG is that it!!" When we entered, the first view was of a large decorated Christmas tree! The mood was set! Everyone walked through with smiles on their faces. One of my sons hugged me and said "you did good Mom". The cabin was beautiful inside and out. Plenty of room, very clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, gorgeous view from the windows/decks, plenty of games and activities for all. We would have been completely happy if had never left the cabin to do anything else. Would definitely recommend for family vacations. It exceeded expectations.

Clean, comfortable, very homey. Management was responsive and helpful regarding area information. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and toilet paper. Bar soap in each shower and sink. Mini shampoo bottle in each shower. Kitchen had one roll paper towels, extra trash bags, dishwasher tabs, dish soap, new sponge, towels. They have a dog holder for food and water. Bring containers for leftovers if you plan on cooking & foil/ zip locs if you use them. Bring laundry detergent if you plan to use machine. Bring firewood and a lighter. We left ours for the next group. Great lighting and lamps. LOVED the decorated Christmas tree. Tastefully decorated. Basement projector theater space ended up being ultimate hangout space for the 4 teenage boys. They played pool every night. Remember this is someone else’s home that they share with us and our fur babies. Be kind and pick up after your pet daily.

Spectacular views
The only reason I didn't give this cabin 5 stars was the cleanliness. I spent two days trying to get the mildew/mold out of the front load washer and the hot tub was dirty too. With covid 19, I cleaned all the surfaces myself just for good measure. Enough about the yuck, let's talk about the greatness. This cabin is absolutely gorgeous! It has the most comfortable bed in the master on the main. It was never cold enough to use the fireplace, but how nice to have one in the master. The bathtub was humongous and much needed since the hot tub wasn't clean. The basement is beautiful and we made lots of memories playing air hockey and corn hole. The projector down there was wonderful! The drive to the cabin is beautiful. I would definitely stay again but would hope it would be cleaned better next time.

The house and the yard are absolutely beautiful. We got tons of use out of the fire pit, the porch swing, the large dining room table and the game room. The beds are very comfortable and the staff was great at answering any questions we had.
It was a great trip and our friends and family loved the comfort of the house!

My $.02
I don't have one negative thing to say about the entire property. We "I'm 45, wife 48, dog 3 year old boxer" enjoyed a weekend here. We ran into Bob (the care taker of the property) when we arrived, he was finished, just putting things in his car. This man is a saint, and the reason the whole entire house was spotless from Top to Bottom. If you do one thing as a rental company, please give this man praise for doing a fabulous job !!!
I would also like to convey that the pictures of the whole property, are actually what the house looks like! This isn't always the case with rentals. The carport on the property was nice because i took a boat. Here is one problem, and It's 100% my fault. I got the email with a warning about letting a gps, take you to the destination; but didn't think too much about it. This lead us to Phillips Branch Road. If i had one suggestion, send an email with ALL RED LETTERS, to stay off of this road at all costs, especially if pulling a trailer. We almost didn't make it, the road is very narrow, sharp curves, is dirt, and has steep grades. Had to put the truck in 4 wheel drive to make it up. I totally own that one, as i did get the email, and own that mistake.
As far as the property as a whole, it's 5 stars, swing on the porch, view of Beech Mtn, the whole 9 yards. We loved it !!!
I booked this online, but had also talked to a very nice lady named Emily on the phone who greatly helped me make the decision.
Thanks again, and I will use your company in the future !!!

Loved it! Fantastic house
My husband and I recently stayed at the property with our 2 boys (7 and 5). We had a great time. The house is really clean, offers stunning views of the mountains, is extremely quiet and has everything you need! We really enjoyed the large dining table outside, the hot tub and the large fire pit in the backyard. The beds are very comfortable, linen is nice and clean and there are plenty of towels. Each bedroom has extra pillows and blankets. I highly recommend this house for your next vacation.

Family Vacation
We really enjoyed our stay at the Stone Mountain Lodge. The views are spectacular. The lodge is in really good shape. It looks like they've done lots of recent renovations. Definitely worth five stars across-the-board. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to enjoy the mountains. We had no issues finding the location on Google maps GPS. The pictures almost don't do this place justice. Seeing is believing.

This place was just wonderful. Super clean and well stocked. I have stayed in a lots of rentals and this one was by far the best stocked ever. The kitchen especially had everything you could want or need to make a Great meal. Dishware, pots and pans, a griddle, a stock pot, spices and seasonings, sugar and flour, paper towels and dish soap etc etc. Just cant say enough about the convenience of having everything we needed available!
The house itself was spotless. Huge ceilings and not a cobweb in sight!
Beautiful location, peaceful surroundings, etc. The rental company went above and beyond in responding to questions and letting me add to our party size. Directions were spot on for how to get into the house etc.
Constructive criticism-the fire pit area is very hard to get to for someone who is older. Very steep hill down to it and the rock stairs weren't all that secure in the ground. Also, the hot tub is fairly small given the fact that the property sleeps 8. Given the remoteness of the cabin a guide to grocery stores and gas stations with directions would be helpful. Also a guide to local attractions.
Would definitely stay again...hopefully in the fall to see the beautiful leaves change! Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely!
My husband and two adult children spent several days here. It was a beautiful "cottage", I say that in quotes because it seemed more like a high end home. It's a long ride up the mountain but more than worth it. The scenery is lovely. We saw a family of deer on our way up. All kinds of wildlife, birds, butterflies, peace and quiet.

We really enjoy staying at the property as this was not our first stay. With the new property owners comes change. While the changes to the property are great, the only change that we noticed that would become a health problem for us if we stayed longer than 3 days is the property now seems to be pet friendly. We noticed dog hair on the couch which aggravates allergies and if change was noted on the website, then medical precautions would have been taken and no problems. Now that we know this property is pet friendly, there shouldn't be any issues for us next time.

Stone Mountain Lodge July 2019
This is such a beautiful home and property! Our kids enjoyed the game room, jet bathtubs and roasting marshmallows at night around the fire. WiFi is a wonderful addition to this home since our cell service was spotty, we could still be connected to family online. The kitchen was completely stocked with any pot or pan you would need and the property was super clean! The location was wonderful, not too far from the busy Boone area, but just far enough to have the quiet country atmosphere. The view from the property was breathtaking and the mountains sparkled at night! We visited Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and even did a little Gem Mining and go-carting before we left. Beautiful home and area we would definitely stay again!

overall a 5 star however
overall a 5 star however with new ownership I hope they fix the door going out to the deck from the living room, it sticks and makes a loud noise when trying to open it up which wakes up people sleeping.

Great time!
Place was great. No complaints. Firepit and wood that was available was great. Location for us was great. View was super. I will mention a couple things though. Furnace or A/C in the downstairs was WAY too noisy. They need to fix that. to the owner - The gutters are clogged and damaging the porch. The hot tub is leaking for a long time and beginning to cause rot for the porch under it (you can see from the lower porch)
4.5
Clean and comfortable
We found the cabin a clean and comfortable environment for our family of 7. However, there were a few disappointing factors. First, the cabin is sold as a cabin for 10, yet place settings, dining room, towels, etc were only available for 6 or 7. The hot tub wasn't heating when we arrived and had to call and wait for maintenance to address the issue. The same is true with the air hockey table. The door from the icing room to the back porch is swollen from humidity and incredibly difficult to open or close. If these minor issues were addressed, we would certainly return.
4.5
The Cabin was very nice
The Cabin was very nice and the view was beautiful at sunrise and sunset. The only
problem we had nothing to do with the cabin only the cleaning. The oven has never
been cleaned on the inside. The mirrors had dust. Overall we would like to come back.
