Welcome to North View Lodge!
North View Lodge is a vacation lodge with loads of mountain character and fun amenities in a central location convenient to all the High Country offers. This home offers various options for relaxing, congregating, dining, and sleeping for groups of all types. The owners have lovingly and thoughtfully set this house up to maximize comfort, usage flexibility, and year-round fun for guests of all ages. We are thrilled to offer North View to our guests.
Located just a few minutes from downtown Banner Elk, the lodge sits between Sugar and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts, about ten miles to either one. Grandfather Mountain is also about ten miles away. The property is convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Hawksnest, Linville Falls and Caverns, Valle Crucis, and everything you want to do or see in the NC High Country.
The property surrounding the driveway and parking area is all wooded, private, and available to walk and explore. The driveway leads through a wooded approach to a generous gravel parking area. The lodge has an expansive deck wrapping around the rear and view sides. The front door leads into a generous entry foyer where you can shed wet winter jackets and boots or take off muddy clothes.
To one side of the foyer is a master suite with a king-size bed, an HDTV, a BluRay player, and an ensuite bathroom. A nearby second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a full hallway bathroom. The kitchen is open to the dining and living areas and offers granite countertops, stainless appliances, and beautiful hickory hardwood floors. The dining table is impressive and can seat 12 to 14 guests. The living room has a central wood-burning fireplace, a large screen HDTV, and upscale leather furniture. Glass French doors open to the rear deck from the dining and living areas. Enjoy the view in handmade, custom furniture constructed from live-edge wood and wine casks.
On the other side of the foyer is a big family room with a window wall. Large comfy sofas, a round game table for chess, checkers, cards, and an HDTV with a BluRay player furnish the room. A long, impressive L-shaped, English tavern-style bar with granite countertops and wood finishes has a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, and coffee bar. Off the family room is the hot tub room. The two exterior walls have paneled sliding glass pocket doors that disappear, allowing guests to open the hot tub room to the outdoors. Accessible from the hot tub room and the family room is a unique tiled bathroom with a shower, changing room, 8-person sauna, and steam room. Outside the hot tub room, the deck has built-in benches, a long outdoor dining table, a gas grill, and an outdoor stone gas log fireplace.
Upstairs is the game room with an 8-foot slate pool table and dartboard, a comfy reading chair flanked with built-in shelves stocked with books and games, a half bath/powder room, and a daybed with a trundle. The first upstairs bedroom suite has a king bed, a custom built-in desk, and a private full bathroom with a custom tile shower. The second upstairs suite has a California king bed, a vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling, and a nice window framing the view. It has a walk-in closet and a private bathroom with a double granite vanity and an oversized tile shower. Off the game room is an open-style bedroom with a twin-over-twin solid wood bunk bed and a twin daybed with a trundle bed.
The movie theater room, warm and intimate with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings and plush carpet, features a 120-inch HD projector screen with digital cable programming, a BluRay player, and an Xbox One. The theater room has numerous reclining chairs and a long crafting desk ideal for children to express creativity.

We so enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of room for families to have their space while still utilizing the comfortable group lounging areas and prepping food to enjoy for a crowd. Ample sleeping areas for multiple families or friend couples. The amenities are top notch - very roomy jacuzzi tub and nicely appointed shower and sauna area. The parking is roomy and well laid out. The mud room is perfect for coming in from a day of skiing to take of boots, snow jackets, and bibs. Plenty of storage and hanging space for outerwear!

The home is beautiful and secluded with a lot of privacy. It's about 5-10 minutes from downtown Banner Elk but it seemed much further, which was what we wanted. The property manager communicated extremely well so checking in was very easy.
If I had to complain about something, then it would be the cleanliness of certain areas. The deck has a rotted table sitting on it which could be a concern if you have kids. The floors had areas where dirt and dust had collected in corners but nothing too concerning. It just looked like no one had stayed there in a few weeks or the cleaners didn't do a very good job after the last guests.
Overall, I would definitely stay in this house again and would highly recommend it. The jacuzzi and sauna were awesome and a nice touch for adults while the upstairs area is perfect for kids.

We rented North View Lodge and hosted a family reunion with 34 people over 11 days with family coming and going. NVL was a perfect choice for our group as the number of bedrooms (4) allowed for couples and the various other sleeping areas allowed for everyone else to have a comfortable bed. Adolescents enjoyed the lofts. Plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen appliances, grill and cookware were adequate. Bar is nice and allowed us to keep all drinks out of the kitchen and refrigerator. Outdoor fireplace was a nice gathering place in the evening. Would rent NVL again.

Beautiful lodge with lots of space and bathrooms for the family! Stunning views and the rental company was so great to work with.

We had a really great time at this property! It was large enough for all of our family units to have a great time doing what they wanted to do. LOVED the hot tub area! We also really enjoyed the outside deck with large table - we spent many hours playing games as a family out there! The kitchen is lovely! A lot of time was spent in the movie theatre room playing video games on the large screen. The table in the kitchen was big enough to fit us all. We saw deer in the back yard, loved being in nature. We did some day trips to Boone, the local winery and hiking! Wonderful trip, wonderful home!

We housed family and all of the groomsmen for our sons wedding. It was the perfect set up! The groomsmen had the whole upstairs, bar, den, hot tub area and the parents and grandparents took the two rooms over by the kitchen. It all worked amazingly well!

Awesome house!
Went with a group of friends for the weekend and the house was great! Very roomy, great amenities, and the hot tub and sauna both were easy to use! I’d definitely stay again!

Very disappointed with this rental property. We arrived to trash on front porch, dog poop on back deck, burnt newspaper in fireplace and marshmallows residue on screwers. Problems with the temperature upstairs being hot, the hot tube not working and being dirty. There was around the property and on the deck. One pool stick had a usable tip. This property is very convenient to all the attractions but multiple issues need to be addressed.

This home is amazing! The layout worked perfect for my friends and family and the 8 little kids we all have. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

Loved the house but we assume due to the quick turn around (we checked in the same day someone checked out) the cleaning staff was unable to do a thorough cleaning job. Great location! Great weather and great view off the back deck!

Wonderful and Peaceful Stay
This was the Perfect Cabin for a large group! We had a group of 14 and everything was wonderful! Very spacious, different areas for you to do your own thing. Pool Table was a joy for everyone especially the men, Movie Theater was great and the Hot Tub was a blessing for us women and the Sauna was the tip of the iceberg! We are definitely making this our annually getaway :)

We had a wonderful time here. It was a bit dirty, but nothing we couldn't just clean up ourselves. The grill had not been cleaned and there was food all over it. The kitchen cabinets had dried food on them. And the kitchen trash can had dried food all over the outside. Other than that, we enjoyed the home very much and will definitely stay there again. Thanks so much :)

OK, should be better (cleaner)
Excellent quiet location, wonderful views, and convenient to great hiking trails, rivers, scenic drives, local sites of interest, and more. Reasonably updated house that easily accommodated my family of 14 (8 adults ages 20-80, 6 children ages 3-17) for five nights at a fair rental rate. Easy reservation process with accurate photos and clear instructions for access and the stay in general. Alongside those positives were some disappointing negatives. The house was generally NOT clean. The small yoga/exercise room was filthy and not suitable for use. The furniture had food and food wrappers under and between the cushions. The loft space had Goldfish crackers on the floor. The wood floors in the main living areas turned our bare feet black. The dishwasher contained dishes that may not have been washed. The throw blankets and pillows looked and smelled questionable. The bath mat in the bathroom of the upstairs bedroom nearest the top of the stairs appeared dingy/dirty. Thankfully the bed linens and bathrooms (toilets and showers) were otherwise reasonably clean. For the $295 cleaning fee I paid I expected a far cleaner house. I honestly believe I deserve at least a partial, if not full, refund. Overall, my family and I were moderately satisfied with our stay once we got used to the conditions and began enjoying the surroundings we came to experience. I'm not sure whether I or we would recommend the place to others unless there was some assurance the place would be 100% clean. I truly don't like to sound mostly negative but cleanliness is one of the most important aspects of a vacation rental to me and my family, even more so during these ever-changing days of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Ford's February Stay
Would have been a 5 star all day but had issues with cleanliness, stopped drain, not enough towels, 1 dart, 1 usable pool Que and Wifi was a struggle.
We were given a $500 credit and I appreciate that.
Staff was courteous and tried to satisfy all of our request.
Thanks guys.

The property was not clean. The list of rules for us was taken very seriously and we adhered to them. However we did not feel as though this property was ready for us. The TV in the master bedroom did not work. The floors were dirty the hot tub had not been cleaned and the water was below the jets. There were not enough towels was each person to have a towel. The only thing g this property had going for it was the view. We will not stay there again.

What a beautiful home!
We have been enjoying an annual trip to the mountains for the past 9 years.
All of the homes have been lovely...but, we all agreed that this home was a favorite for several reasons! The view was absolutely spectacular...a huge panoramic view! The hot tub is also an amazing feature. All of the homes we’ve stayed at have had hot tubs...but if it happened to rain, the tub became unusable! The hot tub in this lovely home was actually inside but with two sets of sliding doors that opened the room to the outside! In addition, there is a fabulous sauna!
The home is large enough to give everyone a bit of privacy but also so cozy!
We had a wonderful time and will return!!

Everything You Could Ever Need!
We have stayed at several rentals over the years, and this one easily takes the cake. We needed a large cabin for our group of 14 for our annual hiking trip. This cabin is MASSIVE and included everything we could ever need: A cozy theater, a spacious hot tub and sauna room, a wrap around deck for yoga in the morning and star-gazing at night, a well-supplied kitchen, and of course, plenty of sleeping arrangements. This cabin is only a short drive from town and close to many amazing hiking trails. Grandfather Mountain was easily one of the best hikes we've ever done. I would 10/10 recommend this property.

Excellent mulitple family vaction property
We spent the weekend with 4 families that included 6 children and it was perfect! The kids had an entire floor to themselves complete with pool table, games, and movie room. The adults all had queen size beds. The property is divided in two sections and you could not hear noises from the other side of the house in the morning so everyone's sleep preferences could be accommodated. The hot tub outdoor, gas fireplace and sauna were a nice bonus. The view is gorgeous and the location is great for hiking, kayaking and not to far from some great fishing on the New River in Todd, NC. We had a wonderful experience with River Girl Fishing.
4.8
5 Stars - family fun
The house is well laid out for multiple families. The babies could nap in a quiet space and the kids could go to bed early away from the noise of the kitchen, living room, and bar area. The view is wonderful from the back of the house! It may be useful to add landmarks in the directions (tree farm, church, etc.) because the house is hard to find at night. The kitchen is mostly well-stocked and allowed us to make most of our meals at the house; note: some of the cookware (e.g. skillets) aren't in great condition and there was a lack of utensils like rubber spatulas and wooden spoons. We had plenty of parking for our cars, it was easy to secure the trash, the hot tub was nice after a day of hiking on Grandfather Mountain, and there was definitely enough space for 8 adults and 7 kids. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback! The owners have taken your advise and replaced the skillets as well as stocked the kitchen with a variety of utensils and cookware. We are so happy you had a wonderful stay, and hope you come back to stay again soon!
