Wonderful place in the country. Outstanding service from Luisa, every morning for breakfast. Luisa also did our wine tasting, which we thoroughly enjoyed, well worth it! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Beautiful pool with lunch and drinks, restroom, towels and umbrellas set up quickly by pool attendants. We rented the bikes and went all over the vineyards.
Without a car, you are trapped on the property. The restaurant is a bit limited in the menu and $$$$

Location- right next to Piazza Maggiore.
Difficult to locate with GPS. Many pedestrian only streets.

The Staff were fabulous. Pool amazing. Room perfect size.
I thought the rooms were a bit sparse. They could have done with a few pictures on the walls as it was a bit clinical. Also a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Unfortunately there was a problem with the water on the last night and there wasn't any or the following morning!

beautiful estate property remodeled with detail… quiet and extremely comfortable with friendly and professional staff.
the pool was closed, a spa would be perfect here.

The property is set on the hill in a very quiet, tranquil setting. it is beautifully done, rooms are news, bathroom is very tastefully done, the breakfast is small but amazing and the restaurant is wonderful. We are sure it will get its Michelin star soon!
At €350 euro a night I expect amazing service and this was lacking. My emails with reservation requests and questions were left answered for days until the hotel just stop answering. We received a wrong cot bed for babies and then the hotel just didn’t have the correct mattress foundation and we had to do with a short one. Our bedsheets were not ironed which is the first time this ever happened to me. Instead of toddler bedsheets we were given a sheet for grown ups to wrap over the blanket, which is silly because kids toss and turn a lot in bed. The iron was terrible and didn’t iron anything but lefts water stains on my silk shirts and there was nothing to iron on so I’ve had to use the bed. With exception of lovely Lora, no one else had a smile for us and 90% of the time I felt that we were bothering and annoying staff with requests. Although many families are staying there, basic family needs are not taken into account, there were numerous Albert small mishaps and I really had to wonder whether management pays any attention. Which is a shame because it’s a beautiful hotel with a fantastic restaurant and a lot of potential - with a little work the hotel should be able to live up to it.

Everything! The staff is very kind, the location is amazing and the restaurant is sooo SO good. We, furthermore, enjoyed a wine tasting, which was included in the price.

The staff were great, really helpful and passionate about the vineyard and acetaia. The breakfast was good, and the location was stunning, really beautiful surroundings. I liked that they also offered a free wine tour and tasting. The rooms were comfortable and the pool area was great.
The pool area was nice, but there really needs to be more of a pool service for food and drink. They only had water and wine for beverages, and crisps. If you wanted lunch you had to go to the main restaurant, which was the dinner menu and not really suitable for lunch - and unless you leave the property it's your only option.

My wife, baby and I spent 2 nights here and had the most amazing time. The grounds alone are gorgeous for walks in the evenings. But the historic buildings that they so well restored is what made it stand out for us. The old mayor's house we stayed in was over 400 years old, but completely redone. The rooms were super comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff were lovely and so helpful. The pool is idyllic. The restaurant was delicious. And they threw in a wine tasting, aperitivo, and a balsamic tasting. What more could we ask for? The only comment we made to the staff was that the photos on their website don't do the place justice. Would recommend 100%.

The property is beautiful, located up on the hills, among wineries, beautiful nature, recently renovated rooms, amazing restaurant, great breakfast. Free wine and aceto balsamic tastings from their own production.
Nothing, everything was great.

This place is incredible - a restored winery kept in its original style which was just what we were looking for.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations. The pool area is brand new and was a perfect place to recharge the batteries.
Breakfast was good and the selection of cold cuts was in line with expectations. Freshly squeezed orange juice and pecorino from Pienza and parmiggiano cheese would have made it perfect.

Location is fabulous, owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. Entire property is very stylish. Atmosphere is relaxed. Restaurant has a phenomenal terrace. Acetaia on site - tour & tasting highly recommended.
Restaurant on site has a (too) small menu in case you'd like to eat there multiple nights; limited opportunities for coffee/refreshing during the day

An Istagram hotel par excellence. The Roncollo is picturesquely situated in the hills south of the town of Reggio Emilia (we did not go into town). The stately grounds have been restored with great attention to detail, and the rooms are all modernly furnished and clean. There's an outstanding restaurant with a terrace with stunning views for great summer evenings. The dishes are excellent. However, the menu remains constant, so after a few days you have to look for alternatives. The hotel itself presents one, as it organizes a wine festival 3 times a week, where you can also have dinner, just in walking distance. The pool invites you to linger all day. We came a few days after the opening of the hotel, so the pool was not usable for 2 days of our stay. However, the staff presented us with good alternatives and the hotel management made a very generous compensation. The in-house balsamico tasting is also highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Very quiet location. Very clean and modern bedroom and bathroom.
No restaurant or any food/dinner options on site. The drive to the next town is quite long. Mini bar was not functioning.
