Great location with spacious elegant rooms.
Only slight issue was grubby steam room

Service is 5* throughout, fantastic 3-course breakfast and afternoon tea, decent location and having a pool is an added bonus.
Feather pillows resulted in restless nights.

very clean staff very friendly I expected a better room for the cost not a cheap place
room wasn’t great for the price

We were given a beautiful room with a castle view. I spent quite a while each day taking in the amazing view of Edinburgh Castle from the bedroom and bathroom windows!
I wasn't told in advance that there would be no valet parking available on the weekend of my visit, despite checking with them about this about 2 weeks prior to our trip.

Achei bonito e limpo
O quarto ficava MUITO distante do elevador
Bastante mesmo
Um corredor bem longo
E tinham alguns quartos com vista para um castelo o meu não tinha …

Great location and brilliant staff. So central and beautiful lobby restaurants etc
Almost 3 hrs delay to check in. Booked a deluxe king room and couldn't get our original room due maintenance issues. The duty manager handled the delay very professionally with a number of complementary items added to our stay. When we finally got to our room we were very disappointed, quite basic room, smaller than expected and a very small bathroom. The room seemed like one which would not normally be used and smelt musty. Breakfast at the hotel was also a disappointment, hot buffet items not very warm and overcooked.

It’s very disappointing to be leaving this review. The hotel is beautiful, in a great location. I was greeted by the most lovely lady Karen on the front desk when I arrived, she was fantastic to deal with. We were here to celebrate our engagement, Karen told me there was notes on our booking regarding this from our personal concierge Victoria.
The hotel had a very large American group staying for the weekend, they took up large parts of the hotel and bar, it was chaos in the hotel lobby at check out time due to the large group all arriving in at the same time! The bill was slightly confusing, however the lady behind the desk was slightly rude and unhelpful. We tried to have a cup of tea or a seat to relax in the hotel lobby prior to going to the airport, we were told that this wasn’t possible due to the large American group having all of these areas booked out, we were told to go across the road to a cafe for a cup of tea if we wanted one. Not good enough after spending premium rates of £400 per night for 3 nights!

Highly recommend for a couples getaway. From the moment of booking to checkout, the hotel and staff made my experience one that was so easy and comfortable I absolutely plan to come back.
I surprised my partner with an overnight stay in a Premium Queen room with Castle View and the view did not disappoint! Pillows were lush and soft. The bathroom was luxurious with Aesop amenities and the hotel was dotted with Scottish paintings and photos. Not to mention there are views of the castle on every floor and even from the pool & spa.
Ewelina assisted me in advance with preparing a bottle of champagne and birthday card to surprise my partner at arrival. He was so surprised! Princess went above and BEYOND to ensure everything was not only perfect at check-in but also throughout the stay. She has so much knowledge about the hotel and area, and ensured our preparations to the expectation I have of a Waldorf. She made us feel personally welcomed and this is why I rated the Waldorf Astoria Caledonian FIVE STARS!
Additionally, James and Nathan at the Concierge Desk both helped us out during the stay. Not only providing recommendations, but they both made calls either checking for space or amending our reservations and making sure we could relax and enjoy nearby restaurants with ease.
We both left feeling like this was “the most relaxing weekend” we’ve had in such a long time and the entire staff really set a high bar. We absolutely look forward to our next stay.
Only negative feedback: the room slippers were low quality disposable with “made in China” non/removable stickers. A monogrammed “WAC” or better quality would be the cherry on top and I think they deserve to have this!

The location was great and the breakfast plus the staff were marvellous 👍 😀 👌!!!
My room was booked to have BIDET but didn't have one. Don't laugh. Lol. It's quite important. 😆 🤣. I have four bathrooms in my house and they all are crowded with bidets!! That is a criteria!!

Perfekte Lage ‚ charmantes Hotel, tolles Essen
SAP Bereich könnte erneuert werden, Sauna ist extrem klein, mehr als 2 Personen haben keinen Platz.

Staff, location, and facilities (spa/bar) were all excellent. Great suggestions for restaurants from the concierge team.
Some parts of the room look somewhat dated. Very small print though.

I booked the Wardolf for my partner’s birthday and the stay definitely exceeded my expectations. We received a warm welcome and the staff made the experience at arrival easy and very pleasant. Staff were super friendly throughout our stay.
Breakfast was lovely and great central location.
4.3
We were welcomed and given an upgrade and a free breakfast and treated for an occasion. It’s a beautiful hotel and was a lovely experience.
Building is old so large and floors can creak but that can’t be helped and didn’t really detract from our enjoyment.

The staff were really really friendly, they couldn’t be more helpful/polite.
Some of the prices ie afternoon tea for 2 -£120, that is just ridiculous. Breakfast £75 for 2 - we would of loved to eat at the property but the prices were well out of our range.

A gorgeous hotel which is in a great location. Helpful concierge and front desk staff. Room was lovely and large. Highly recommend Grazing restaurant and the breakfast was amazing
There are parts of the hotel which feel a little tired. The Spa really needs some work and is dirty in places.
The room had only 2 plug sockets. Really tricky for chargers and hairdryers etc.
Housekeeping didn’t service our room during the day so after a long days sight seeing coming back to a messy room was disappointing- we had to vacate the room to allow them to clean it. A real shame. Service was poor in the bars and Peacock Alley - I think they are understaffed. The afternoon tea was not freshly made with sandwiches which had clearly just been removed from the fridge resulting in cold, dry sandwiches. The cakes were really cold too. Really disappointing

It had a very grand feeling about it. We were given a little welcome package and were upgraded to a King Suite as we were celebrating our anniversary. All the staff were amazing and friendly and would recommend to family and friends.
My wife and I were underwhelmed by the spa facilities and the layout of the room where the tv was facing the door.
4.3
The whole experience was exceptional. The history of the building was of interest and the staff made us feel welcome at all times.
The property was exceptional. But whenever we encounter a room advertised as a “double bed” that turns out to be two single beds pushed together - we have an issue with comfort. A standard double bed would have been much more acceptable.
4.3
The hotel was exceptionally accommodating towards us. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. We honestly haven't experienced service like this before and we would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommend
Nothing, it was perfect

The receptionist, the room, the windows in the room. The price over all. The response I got from my previous feedback.

Breakfast was great
People were lovely
Facility was historical and really interesting
We were given an upgrade and it was really appreciated as it was a bigger room
The room was very cold and took 20 hours to warm up and the bathroom was cold during the whole stay, we requested extra blankets to keep warm and it took 3 requests and 8 hours before they arrived, as we only stayed for 2 nights this became an issue on the overall stay.
