Breakfast was tasty, but the pastries often ran out. On our first morning the coffee ran out 15 minutes before the end of Breakfast service and I was given sachets of Nescafe Original (which I don't really consider to be coffee) as it wasn't worth putting another pot on.
The mattress was soggy. The room had obviously previously suffered damp from the room above. Every time the occupants of the room above walked about, flakes of paint / plaster fell from the ceiling onto the dressing table. The bath had holes in it where it had previously had handles and the sink was chipped. I struggle to complain in person as I have ASD.

Lovely Character property. Family room was amazing size and so comfortable. Catered well for us snd our dog.
Lovely breakfast. Would recommend
Lovely views of beach from hotel.
Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance.
Didn’t have own Bar snd bar next door was very noisy .
Plenty of other venues to choose from.

As we have stayed at The Victoria before we were very pleased that finally the lift had been replaced. The breakfast was as plentiful as usual although a variation on the eggs (i.e. scrambled ) would have been nice.
The room we had we have stayed in before and I noticed the bathroom should have been redecorated by now.

Breakfast and location
Had to pay £7 for parking.
There was no evening meal.
No proper sea view which we paid for. No heating in bedroom. Bath damaged.
Sent to wrong room on arrival.

Everything, food, the character and charm of the building, the staff. Great that the evening resteraunt and bar next door so not noisy.
The pool changing facilities are dire. No sign to tell you where the changing rooms are so i walked into the men's. Showers not working, lockers not working. Shabby. Pool ok.

Proximity to town centre
Location of room, misleading photos on website, state of bathroom. Room 113 is wedged next to the elevator. Early morning alcohol delivery for the adjacent pub was unloaded directly below my window. Bathroom fixtures (eg shower soap dish) missing, with the remnants of where they once resided rusty and disintegrated.
Perhaps I got the one bad room in the place- which is disappointing as I booked a year ago based completely off the available photos

The position of it also the look of it inside and out full of character always kept lovely and clean
There isn’t anything we don’t like about the property

Bedroom was good , everywhere was clean , staff remember me what was wonderful as I am a amputee 100%ok I found a car park space outside the front door , and the lady on the front on Saturday morning got a bollard with my name on it so I could use that space a huge thank you for that
1 thing Saturday morning breakfast wasn’t good everything was burnt, I think the bacon etc was left in the oven too long also no water in the coffee urn I had a cup of beans , staff were not there selves, no good morning

The location.
Bath towel in the room was very small. Tea bag was not replaced Tuesday.
Shower was via a mixer tap. Thursday, could get hot water to come out.
Why did I share the floor with a lady and a dog that were social housing. Her statement not mine.

The rooms and hotel were lovely
The staff weren't overly friendly.

Absolute bargain for a quick girly trip. We used the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool. The hotel has parking and is right in the centre of Newquay.
Being asked to pay a breakfast bill that wasn't ours.

A lovely old hotel. The staff were brilliant as was the breakfast
3.8
Friendly staff and brilliant breakfast.
The floor in our bedroom was somewhat uneven which didn't help as my balance is not great just had to be careful.

Slightly dated

Good breakfast , great location very central with car park.
Room was small and the shower could have been more powerful
3.8
Good location and the staff were friendly. WiFi was fine. Close by to High St; pubs and restaurants.
My room seemed very average for the price I paid compared to other friends who stayed there. Scruffy carpet on a wonderful staircase was an eyesore.

Very clean and friendly staff :)

Excellent Location. Breakfast was great, good choice. Room and Hotel was good comfy bed and clean. Brill staff nothing a bother. Overall a lovely experience.
Nothing all good

Gorgeous room, with lots of space.
Really comfy bed.
Huge TV!
Car park does fill up, and once full you just have to use your imagination as to where to put your car, fortunately the hotel accommodate all attempts at parking!

Location was great. It was clean and the staff all friendly and helpful. We got discount drinks at the Irish Bar next door - 10% and 20% off our meal at Senor Dicks also adjoined to the hotel and once again very friendly staff, good prices and nice food and drinks. The hotel does look tired and could do with being upgraded but that also adds to it's charm. A lovely view from the breakfast room out onto the ocean and drinks can also be taken outside. My partner also commented that it was one of the best breakfast's had in a while at a hotel and we do travel a lot so stay in many places. There is also a pool and gym. Would recommend.
Not the hotel's fault but the Seagull that loved to visit us each morning at 6.00am and tap on our window. However, it did make us smile as when it first happened it sounded like a human knocking on the window then realised we were 3 floors up. I think made a friend lol.

Location was perfect above great western beach
Quite dated but comfortable

Staff were lovely and polite. Pool and gym facilities on site which was brilliant on rainy days. Excellent location. Breakfast was lovely and cheap and affordable. £6 when you order it the night before. Clean and very comfortable
There was an old man who was a member of staff who was always grumpy and told kids off over little things. Very very rude and made us feel uncomfortable at times. Would grumble rude things about us under his breath and not sure if he was behaving this way towards us because we were Asian. We found him very rude towards us. He wasn’t behaving this way towards other white families
3.8
location was good
there was rust stains in the bath and while we was there the hotel was having work done to the sauna and hot tub was not working only the pool what then looked very messy
3.8
Lovely building with loads of character. Really friendly staff. Great location. Lovely breakfast.
It was all good but the room was a little tired, like the hotel.
3.8
Friendly staff and dogs are well catered for
The restaurant wasn't open in the evening and also if we wanted a drink or coffee we had to go to the adonoing pub
3.8
it was in a good location in terms of being close to shops and the beach. The breakfast was also delicious and was good value for money.
the shower in our room didn’t work and the toilet in the second room we booked didn’t work properly. We paid for two rooms, same price, same room type however one was double the size of the other and also had a larger bed and bigger bathroom/shower. also, the lift was not working and we were only told about this on arrival. as we were travelling with my parents who are in their 60’s and 70’s lugging 18kg suitcases up 2 storeys and 56 stairs was extremely difficult. we were not the only guests staying here that had these issues
