Location
Old, tired, overpriced
3.9
Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine apart from the mushrooms which were disappointing.
No plugs by the bed to plug in your phone. Only two plugs in the room which were by the kettle. WiFi wasn’t brilliant
Nowhere to put clothes other than the hanging wardrobe. The room would benefit from a chest of drawers.
3.9
The bedrooms are in desperate need of refurbishment.
3.9
Bathroom not very clean although water pressure in shower excellent
Price, quite expensive. Food service slow. Restaurant noisy
3.9
Convenient for Reading. Clean bedding and towels. Pleasant/helpful receptionist. For price paid it was ok.
Room was tired. Very rusty radiator, what looked like damp marks on the wall behind the desk/tv table, headboard badly marked. Paid extra £9 for full english breakfast which turned out to be poor and not worth the money, inedible sausage, barely edible mushrooms, tomato missing and fried egg overcooked. Continental breakfast acceptable.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at The Wee Waif in Reading! It was a wonderful experience with excellent staff, comfortable rooms, delicious food, and warm hospitality. It's always delightful to have dedicated individuals like Debbie and Luke taking care of guests and ensuring they have a memorable stay.
Will definitely return soon
Room's a bit tired but comfortable and spacious.

Lovely staff decent pub grub ,
Our room was a bit tired and the shower wasn’t great but it was clean and comfortable

Excellent and plentiful choice of breakfast items and the full english was great. Bed was very comfortable with crisp, clean duvets. Good selection of tea and coffee available
Rooms were very hot but after the recent spell of weather we couldn't complain. The bathroom was a little 'tired', the toilet seat was loose and did not fit properly. Apart from that the room was clean and comfortable with a good selection of tea and coffee available.

excellent bathroom and proper mattresses on beds!!
Coming from Australia I would expect a bar fridge in the room.
A chest of drawers would have helped too!!

Meals were fine . While there for a family funeral I stayed at the Waif .For my stay it was very hot and no ac in room #32 it was difficult to sleep and with window open there was road noise close to my room.
No AC in rooms .Consider a central air system as global warming seems to be here to stay.
I was visiting from Canada and above the bathroom mirror is a fluorescent light is what appears to be an
Outlet receptacle for a 120v electric razor which did not work ,so if it is disconnected I suggest replacing the
non functional light .Also in the room there was no face cloth .Also there was no internet available for guests
while stayed there .

conveniently placed for our requirements and cheap
rooms a bit dated , needs a freshen up.

The bedrooms are in need of a lot of tlc, most probably a full refurbishment.

The location was great for us, quiet area near to our son and not to far from Reading town. Bed was large and very comfortable.
The room was very clean but smelt a little musky maybe a room freshener would help.
The breakfast was ok but we asked for the lighter selection breakfast and were charged for the full breakfast. Coffee was very strong if you like it like that great, but I had to put so much milk in it that unfortunately it ended up cold.

It was quiet
Staff need lessons in hospitality we waited at reception to check in when we actually found member of staff was rude and told us check in was not until 2 and we had been waiting 20 mins so it was 230 also staff at breakfast no one greeted us no one told us where to sit no one explained breakfast was just rude
Beds were so hard they need mattress toppers the mattress was hard as nails uncomfortable and couldn't sleep
Room had no hair dryer so had to go breakfast with wet hair
Advertised as room has satellite channels which we couldn't find
No socket by the side of the bed so couldn't plug phone In
Headboard was damaged and ripped looked shabby as leather was peeling off it
Hairs on bottom sheet as if someone had already slept in it
Breakfast was poor value for money

Staff were friendly and professional.
Breakfast was very good.
The Hotel needs a good paint job. Looks somewhat aged.

Great breakfast
Friendly staff
Warm clean rooms
Perfect for what I need when visiting family

Outstanding value for money, about half the cost of other hotel chains. Good sized rooms, en suite shower and bath, comfortable bed and chairs and large desk with tv. Rooms cleaned daily.
Furnishings looked dated and of the three rooms I saw, all had evidence of damage - desk laminate pealing, toilet seats damaged, missing furniture.

Hall way needs some TLC

Breakfast was good value for money
Nice hotel room
very comfy bed
Nice friendly staff very helpful in the hotel and in the pub/restaurant
3.9
Excellent breakfast.
Carpet in bedroom was very worn indeed. No shower gel in the shower dispenser.
3.9
Great place to stay, lovely food in the restaurant which was very good value for money. Clean, tidy and functional with free parking and friendly staff.
Wifi was useless, you have to set up a cloud account and log in to that which just did not work for me. Surely these days every single person wants wifi so it is expected in a place like this. That was disappointing as I was on a work trip and it was something I really needed.
