Staff were friendly and helpful Room was clean and comfortable
The hotel really could do with a lot of TLC
Cracked mugs at breakfast Decor in public spaces need attention Toasters rusty and slow
The dinner menu we were given was not the same as posted on the website Very limited choices
My partner did not receive his veggie sausages at breakfast
Hotel really needs to up its game

Duvet uncomfortable , the poor girl at breakfast was on her own and needs some help , she can’t do all the food orders as well as fill up the pastries , tea and coffee as well as clear the tables

Very close in town, comfy bed, simple room for a single night.
Bathroom toilet wasnt working well, window didnt open, and door was hard to tell if it was locked or not.

Great location used many times when visiting Thame which is a film location for Midsomer Murders as is the hotel
No murders in the area or filming still looking in need of a facelift

The care that they went to when I found I had a flat car battery!
Can;t think!

Stayied a few times over the yrs this being the best by far..changes & improvement in breakfast menue & I think possibly staff .they couldn't be more helpful & attentive. After a very long difficult train journey it was a big relief to be checked in much earlier than expected.
Thankyou to everyone especially manager Brian
I would have preferred a walk inshower not over the bath one but I managed ok for 1 night & was pleased to be on ground floor in.huge livy comfy room

Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed but the room was very small and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work.

Thw bed was comfortable
Room was dirty. Bathroom was dirty. Room faced out to the high street. We stayed on a Saturday night which meant the pub opposite was very loud and noisy till 1am.

Really good stay and 1st class breakfast

I had 2 evening meals and they were superb. They were served on hot plates and the quality of the food was excellent and
good value.

Most welcoming and friendly staff, the breakfast was very good and served in a friendly and helpful way and also having an area where our dog could also be with us for breakfast, excellent. The bedroom was a great size for us travelling with the dog and a very comfortable bed if you like a reasonably firm lay. The bathroom was a good size and had a bath and a shower which is great for choice. If and when we go back to Thame we would certainly stay here again.
For our short stay I cannot find any thing to fault this hotel.

Historic premises. Charming staff. Capacious room. Parking was available: contrary to Booking.com’s Guide.
Some furnishings and fittings a little tired: bath taps loose; wi-fi channel not found; dining chair seat out of shape. No warning that Dinner not available that night.

Situated right in the centre of Thame, the hotel is small and can genuinely be described as a bit quirky! Our room was not huge but is was clean and very comfortable, located somewhere within the labyrinth of small corridors and stairs! Since the hotel was laid out in this way it might not suit those with mobility issues but I'm sure that persons could be accommodated if the hotel is made aware of any problems. We had a very pleasant stay and although we didn't have an evening meal we did have breakfast on two days, which was excellent. Very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again. There is a public car park behind the hotel which is ideally suited for hotel customers. Charges for a 24 hour period are £4. When we arrived we struggled to find the necessary change for the machine but then we learned that we could just have paid at the hotel reception using a bank card. This is worth knowing! Not the cheapest hotel in the area but overall not so expensive given the area.
Nothing really.

The rooms are a little tired. Comfy bed and nice and quiet.

Great value for money. Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely room, great breakfast!
There was only one bottle of sparkling water in the fridge, one bottle of still water would have been good too. Everything else was perfect.

the sheets and towels were clean, the location is fantastic.
it is so run down, tired, and shoddy it is such a shame to see a great place fall into such disrepair. they also made you pay for parking even when staying at hotel.

The room for a single person was great.Breakfast, good selection, big cups of tea, warm plates and best of all comphy bed.
As one who has travelled a bit and stayed in many places, these buildings are yery old, dating back hundreds of years. This is part of the charm of staying in these older hotels. When they were built and new they would have been magnificent. All these years later they are still a great place to stay. The lack of lifts, gives us oldies our daily exercise.Haha.

The hotel decor is so old, worn with dirty carpets that needed a good hoover. the bedroom furniture dated, the carpets needed a good hoover.
we skipped breakfast.

private door into an enclosed garden for our dog. lovely Staff and great food.
understaffed at breakfast. resulting in poor service. We waited for 3/4 hour to give an order for food! Not a smile to be seen from the two staff on duty!

good location, excellent breakfast
a lot of stairs for me, no lift, but to be fair I could have asked for a downstairs room and didn’t.

Lovely traditional hotel
Could do with an iron and ironing board in the room. Think the heater in the bathroom was on all night so like an oven in the morning
2.0
Lights in the room didn’t work in some sockets - tv took literally 20 mins to turn on for some reason , bed was awful , decor awful , wifi didn’t work properly -have had to stay here before as with this weekend as the usual hotel I stay in in Milton common was fully booked - I know the standard of the hotel is poor after previous visits but I honestly expect it to get better at some point , and it never does !!! Literally gets worse each time I stay here , hopefully this will be the last time I have to resort to this - in desperate need of someone to come in and completely refurbish every room

Breakfast was perfect. A couple of things that could be improved ..The room was a bit shaby .. really needs decorating.. The hot tap in the bathroom has a problem had to call someone to turn it off twice . Stopped using it safer.
Otherwise it was a lovely hotel . Staff were helpful and friendly .
Shabby room and dangerous hot tap.
