We were not told that the bar and restaurant were closed for refurbishment so had to find other outlets

The room itself was really clean. Enough facilities for the money I paid. I main thing I wanted was a cheap room for the night and that’s what I got.
The second part I wanted was a shower in the morning. Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be. I opened the shower door and a very very strong stench was of stale water almost made me feel sick. I didn’t have a shower because the risk was too high I would come out more smelly than when I went in.
The property itself also seemed to be leaning heavily to one side. Not helpful after a few drinks.

He opened my door and invaded my space because I've got mental health and speak to myself
Was a all good apart from the man running it i suffer from insomnia schizophrenia and they did not make me feel welcome they should be embarrassed for themselves and they stole my charger for my laptop I highly recommend you do not stay at this place when I questioned him he said the building managers always right I thought the customer was always right

Location.
It's become a hostel not a hotel. The NEW management from August 2024 is rubbish. No breakfast. Bar area closed. No lounge area any more. NO staff except a disinterested twenty something who had failed to clear the front steps of a mountain of cigarette butt's. The allocated room was riddled with damp patches and a pervasive mould smell. So we changed to another fortunately, which atleast didn't smell. No parking vouchers available, so you can't park outside on the street close to the hotel.
The first time I stayed here in 2021 it was smart with attentive staff. It's gone so far down hill I will not stay here again. A shame.

Location and view. Was renovated
Poor facilities. WiFi did not reach the second floor. Hence, TV did not have Netflix or Amazon. Although, it wasn't a deal breaker for our 1 night trip I still feel it should be sorted.

Location is fantastic, sea view & pier view in one go! Staff couldn’t be warmer, so welcoming and accommodating. Price is fair for location and breakfast (I stayed in a single room, cosy for the winter… it is perfect). Breakfast was great and served in a beautiful room. Bar is cosy, with some extra tables to admire the view. Bed was very comfy and good quality linen.
Grand decor at the ground floor could extend to the rooms, especially bathroom (single room, more specifically, needs a refresh). They’re on the right track redecorating it, with a great potential to look stunning, no matter the size of the room.

Good location. Convenient to town centre. Clean.
Unfortunately, we were were disappointed with our room (112). Lighting very poor in the room due to a large headboard obscuring a single window. Bed only accessible from one side and furnished with a tiny bedside table.

The room was sufficient and had all the amenities we needed.
The price was a little steep for the quality of the room.

Location
The Night Porter answered the door to me as I arrived late and left me waiting in the lobby for at least 10 minutes. He arrived back to finally check me in.
He then made the wrong transaction for the pre authorisation. I also didn’t sign anything!
The key kept getting stuck and wouldn’t open the door on several tries.
The towel sizes were ridiculous! The bath towel was so small. The shower wouldn’t hold in his holder ans it was broken and kept falling off spraying water all over the bathroom. I had to hold it in the end.
At breakfast, when making tea or coffee there was no hot water. The urn that was there for making pots of tea and coffee was not boiling.

Liked the comfy bed, cleanliness and hotel was well presented considering its age.
On check in useful information such as the front door locks at a certain time and how to get in, breakfast times, prices and that you should book. Didn't like that the desk had a built in USB slot for charging phones etc yet it did not work. One of the small lights in our room near bed did not work. The pumps for soap had nothing in it.

Really friendly and helpful reception staff; pleasantly surprised with the recent refurbishment

Central Location. Room was clean and OK for the price.
Demanded £50 deposit on arrival not mentioned on Booking.com. Mattress was cheap foam, too soft and very uncomfortable. Quality of the breakfast was very poor and service was bad. Ten minutes before someone appeared in the breakfast room to take the order when there was only two couples seated. Staff were very pleasant but seemed like they were understaffed that day and a bit stressed which wasn't their fault.

Breakfast room nice
Had a tiny room with a view of a fire escape. Found it depressing and claustrophobic. Given that we discovered the hotel was closing the final day of our stay, and there were only 5 other people staying, you think they would have given an upgrade. No facilities eg the Bar closed as they were shutting down for 3 months. I had informed them I'd broken my ankle and struggled in a tiny room with heavy furniture.

No shower curtain so could only use the bath
And hands down worst breakfast iv had at a hotel to date

Location was ok
The room layout needs to be rearranged, bathroom door needs to be able to close properly, no handwash and only half a toilet roll.
3.5
Very clean, well maintained property with lovely sitting area and bar. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Rooms very hot and needed to keep windows open/curtains all night. This made for an interrupted sleep as clock tower chimes throughout night and security lights flash on and off

great location and the entrance, dining and lounge area really well done up.

A very nice Hotel, and definitely at a much higher level than any of its competitors that are situated around the Pier area
same
There's nothing really, even noise from inside the hotel with guests coming and going to their rooms,, isn't a problem here,
