It was very near to the sea
It wasn’t very clean and the kitchen was being redone so had to go out for breakfast. Also I wasn’t told that the allowance for breakfast was only £10 so I had to pay a top up - at an outside cafe. The tv didn’t work properly - I tried changing the remote batteries but it still didn’t work… There were hairs in the bed; the floor wasn’t particularly clean and the bedding smelled funny… the first day I was there the cafe we had to go to for breakfast wasn’t even open! I don’t mind basic accommodation but this was lacking in a lot of areas…

Nothing
Didn't like the room. Didn't like the fact no lighting on stairs. Didn't like having to go out to local café for the breakfast. Didn't like dated furniture. Didn't like the fact that website photographs did not match the current property. Didn't like the fire alarms being taped over and unusable.

Near everything & a short walk to breakfast. My bike was kindly stored in the guest lounge.
The place seemed to be work in progress & had an unfinished feel. The lady who greeted us was helpful but struggled with English which could be a problem for some visitors. My room was small but met my needs, not unsurprisingly being in Town it was noisy from traffic & drunken fights at 2am. If you need a solid night's rest better to choose a less central hotel.

No breakfast facilities as the premises is under construction. Breakfast was organised at a cafe across the road. The staff there were lovely as was the breakfast.
No one onsite, no lighting on stairs, TV in a location behind the bed. No ironing facilities, the proprietor lent me his personal travel iron. No iron board. Only about 5 hangers in the wardrobe. Only 1 spare electric socket. Had to run the hot water for around 7 mins before it came through. Had to ask for the bin to be emptied and more shower gel. Had to ask for the tea cup to be changed after use and for another tea bag as there was only one in the room when I arrived. I had to bend down to open the small bin in the bathroom. It would have been better if it was a pedal bin. The proprietor wasn't expecting me and asked me to pay when I had already paid. This was because he only took over the property 6 weeks ago and I had booked nearly a year ago. He was tired after a busy week. I never saw him after he checked me in but was available by phone.

It was generally comfortable and the host was thoughtful.
The hot water wasn't really hot! Aside from the problem with the shower knobs, I don't think the water heating was adequate, and I only managed a lukewarm shower.

Welcome was lovely, location was excellent. Value for money cannot be questioned. breakfast was really lovely and freshly cooked albeit I would have liked a little more toast. for an overnight stay it was absolutely fine
The bedroom was very tired looking and the bedding being cream did not exactly hide one or 2 hairs albeit it was definitely clean. The curtains let in a lot of light and as a result as soon as the sun came up the light woke us up. The ensuite facilities were adequate but the concertina door to it difficult to manage. The kettle took an age to boil and its position under a painted wooden shelf result in a damp smell whilst boiling. The TV is very small.

Kurt was friendly and helpful and his wife made a very nice cooked breakfast. The room was clean and supplied with tea/coffee facilities plus a TV. I would stay at the Cromwell again when I next visit Eastbourne. The Cromwell was about a 3 minute walk from the pier.
Bed could have been a bit more comfortable, although I slept well.

It was close to seafront which was an advantage and near to town centre
The room was damp. condensation on windows.. Whilst the room was clean, the waste bins in room and bathroom had not been emptied properly and there was rubbish left in bins. The chair was very uncomfortable so not a room to relax in.

I liked the whole bed and breakfast facilities and the staff service.
